Honesty is everything... we all have different expectations and wants when comes to food and drink... or basically everything we want. That's why we're all different people... good video...
It's okay to face the reality not every restaurant is going to have food you enjoy. I've been to plenty which looked like a nice place and had many people eating there, but when my food arrived I had no idea why it was so busy for such mediocre food. Barbecue is really about time, temperature and the smoke. If done right, the meat should be delicious on its own. The sauce is an accessory to accentuate the flavor. Glad to see you, Marie. I hope it's cooling down for you. Take good care!
It’s difficult to be honest while you’re right there in the restaurant and they might hear you! But merci for your honesty. Hope you find a better smokehouse.
Your previous experience with a local American BBQ (Cape Girardeau Smokers used) seemed much tastier. When you get to DC or are in Virginia or North Carolina, you will have to try their BBQ. Other things to try: buttered creamy grits with cheese, red beans and rice, shrimp and dirty rice, and apple cider donuts if you can find them. Have a small slice of pumpkin cake with creamy white frosting. Others: fried okra, clam chowder, chili con carne, tacos (real ones not Taco Bell) with a margarita, lobster roll, cinnamon bun, and Apple Crumb Cake.
Thank you for this video. So sorry for the disappointment with the BBQ, but that is OK. One day you will make it to Houston, Texas and you will taste😋🤪😛 and experience real BBQ. It will not disappoint. Yes, we understand that not everybody can cook real BBQ. Safe travels. 🙂😎
Thank you for the honest review Marie 👍 I'm sorry you were disappointed with the BBQ at Freddy's 😥 I guess the the positive from your experience is that you have another sample to compare to other BBQs that you have tried and will try. Hopefully when you take your trip to the States you'll get to try a BBQ joint or two and have a better reference to make comparisons and evaluations. I can't wait for your next video and your trip and videos to the States cannot come soon enough 🤣 Take care and stay safe 🙏🥰
0:00-0:03: Marie, I see you're getting ready for the football game you'll be attending. It's coming up quickly. I can understand you wanting to be as positive as possible with your reviews, especially while you're in the restaurant. You're such a sweet, nice girl, I'm sure it's your nature to be positive. I'm glad you gave your true thoughts once you were at home.
Hi Marie! Thank you for sharing your experience at Freddie's BBQ. I really appreciate your sharing your honest opinion afterwards, as that is important! ☺ The restaurant atmosphere was not good to begin with, and reheated barbeque of any kind will never be as good as fresh for sure. I have been to some BBQ restaurants around here that were disappointing - not many, but a few times. That is probably because I tend to go to the ones I already know are really delicious ☺. The best barbeque folks really know exactly how to smoke the meats just right, and also how to serve them perfectly, along with excellent sides. That festival you attended sounds very exciting, and I am looking forward to the video you share from that eperience - thank you for giving us the preview!! I hope you are doing well, and that your States trip preparation is going well for you!!! Thank you again, and be safe and well 😃😍!
In Florida you tend to drift towards 4 rivers or a smaller chain place as it’s good. I frequent 4 rivers and keller’s. In New York usually Dinosaur bbq. The point is look into things as you will find how good it is or not.
When you get to the US in a couple weeks, remember to ask locals for best places to eat. Best burger, best bbq, best smoke, best whatever, ..just ask. Hope you are ready for the trip, and that it will be safe!! ❤🥩🍺🍪😁
Aww sorry to hear Freddy's was a let down - that's too bad, but trying something new is the only way to know. Sounds like Charles at Smoke Texas BBQ has nothing to worry about! I think you should come to the US and try some :0) I have enjoyed a Goose Island or two myself. Nice video - I look forward to the next one! :0) 🐺
Bonjour Marie! Everything except the ribs and the pickled onions looked yummo, too bad it didn't taste yummo. I can't stand onions, bleh! The ribs did look reheated and dry. Also, typically ribs are basted with sauce near the end of their cooking time so that there is a cooked glaze on top. What you said was brisket didn't look like what I would think of as brisket. It looked more like Pot Roast or almost a stewing meat. Do an image search of brisket, pot roast, and stewing meat to see what I mean. I also don't eat Mac and Cheese but it looked good, and I like the modification of using Cumin. Many people I know add finely diced bacon (like the size of bacon bits, but with real bacon,) to their mac and cheese. Appearances can be deceiving! Thanks for sharing. Bon appetit! ~Be Blessed
As an American that can get BBQ anywhere then I would not want to waste a meal in Paris to try American food. :) I would want good authentic Parisian food. :)
It sucks that it didn't live up to your expectations. When you're here in the States you'll have to go down South and get some BBQ there. Just don't be surprised when people gasp in shock if you ask for a knife and fork to eat it with. Ribs are finger food. It's supposed to be messy in a very delicious way.
Nice review. Sometimes even in the USA chain BBQ places are a bit disappointing. The smoke flavor is lacking. You can find some back yard home cooks who make better BBQ. In Mac and cheese I boil the pasta with a small chicken bouillon cube. Then add a dash of worcestershire sauce and a small pinch of cayenne to the cheese mixture before combining into a casserole dish, sprinkling with breadcrumbs and finishing in the oven. I suspect something a bit like that was done to the macaroni and cheese you had.
The mac and cheese looked so good. Sorry it was disappointing because I'm sure it wasn't cheap. That is part of life though we have to take the good with the bad. It is good to be honest but I understand when you were in the restaurant you couldn't say all that much. Keep trucking. Enjoyed the video.
Thank you for your honesty--some BBQ is better than others. When I was watching you eat, I was thinking that the meat didn't look right. It was hard to identify what type of meat each item was. The presentation of the food wasn't very appetizing either. The beans looked good but they used a different type of bean than I usually see at that type of restaurant. The Mac & Cheese wasn't as creamy as is normally made. It looked like they had added pieces of cheddar cheese and melted it. I don't know if that made it better. I've never been to Texas but I hear that Austin has great BBQ. Are you still coming to the US? You're running out of time to see a baseball game because the regular season ends at the end of September. Tickets to Washington DC sports teams shouldn't be too hard to get if that's what you were planning to see..
Come to Kansas City, the BBQ capital of the United States. If you make it here visit Anthony Bourdain’s favorite BBQ place Joe’s KC. Or come during the summer when the American Royal World Series of BBQ event is happening.
Any restaurant who reheats food like that, especially a smokehouse BBQ restaurant where you're expecting to eat fresh, fall off the bone goodness, deserves to get a bad review all day. It's unfortunate you had to go through that. Though I think you'll be in for quite a treat once you're in the states!
It does blow (like madning of disappointing) when expecting one thing and it doesn’t come close to it. The ribs did look pretty dry. I’d rather have your honest opinion.
With all those french cheeses I would expect the macroni and cheese to be a unique experience.
Honesty is the best opinion. The food looked good. Can't wait for your trip. Football has started here. Stay well and be safe.

Hello Miss Marie !!!! Looks Delicious, & The like button has been Illuminated !!! Thanks for bringing Us Along ! 😁
Looking forward to the American festival!
A minute in and I am already craving some bbq
Well, part of the channel title is “Explorations”. There are a lot more coming up!
yes! 🤗
It's hard to get it right without lots of experience and the right equipment.
Great video, Marie. I have run into the same problem even over here in the States.
God bless.
Have no fear, their will be plenty of BBQ places you will find on your trip to the US.

Looks really good, can I have some?😋😉😊
If you're ever in Memphis, TN we have one of the best BBQs in the nation highly recommend if you ever drop by!

Dad's barbecue in California. I ate there everyday for 7 weeks while out of town on work . Awsome

I think she was spoiled by Charles's macaroni (Texas BBQ in France episode) and cheese.

Have you tried BBQ in the USA?🤔
I will very son ✨
I hope you had a chance to try some real smoked BBQ when you visited the states.
As a big time BBQ and Smoked meat lover, I could tell just by the color of the meat other than the brisket that they weren't great.
Where’s the bread? Bbq places usually have some bread on the plate. Just something we like to do.
You need ro watch the movie "Fried Green Tomatoes" before you come visit the US!!!! Do a Reaction PLEASE!!!!!!!
Once you have had true Southern BBQ (Texas, Alabama Carolina, Georgia etc.....There is no substitute
It all looked like it needed more sauce
When I saw those ribs I didn’t even know what it was, but it looked terrible
It does blow (like madning of disappointing) when expecting one thing and it doesn’t come close to it. The ribs did look pretty dry. I’d rather have your honest opinion.
Not bad but damn thats boujee BBQ. I guess this is how french ppl feel when they see Americans eating "French" food.
No smoke ring, no smoke flavor.
WHEN YOU GET TO THE STATES TRY REAL BBQ.. AS WE SAY HERE.. THIS FOOD SUCKS... LOL.. BE SAFE MARIE
it all about the pork and beef, european meat is too fatty for good bbq
