We are really amazed, that all this stuff has been put inside that box, and not by a big company. Yes, we are very curious about the process of making this thing. And compliments!
wow, such a perfect sequencer. congrats! I'd even love it without the synth and sample features. I've been dreaming of exactly this kind of sequencer all along.
Yeah this is really almost the perfect machine. I'd be happy without it having it's own synthesis engine or CV output, and just sampling. But with all of that it is incredible. The price is pretty good too.
Just speaking as a new owner and fan of the genius behind it, it’s an ongoing development - new features are added every few months it seems. Getting multisampling and waveform view on the pads within the next few weeks :) after spending over 10k on music gear and software, Deluge is by far the best money I’ve ever spent on anything, worth every penny and then some,
Sorry for a newbie question here... I'm looking to start my first synth setup and eyes and ears are on the Deluge and pairing it with a Minilogue XD to start with. I've got a picture of midi and CV to sync time and control, but I'm finding it hard to get info on the best way to patch the audio to the monitors. I am looking to make a DAWless setup and add more instruments over time. I've looked at mixing desks , but that seems costly as soon as you want more inputs. So I guess I need a patch bay, but again the ones I have found seem a bit overkill with the number of i/o s and costly again. Thanks for any advice on audio routing and thanks for your videos very helpfu.l
I'm curious...is it possible to do 8th swing and 16th swing at the same time? It's a rare function, but I've found in my go-to software that it can create some interesting rhythms.
@@1710000huh Jeskola Buzz can do it, using the "Jeskola Groove 1" machine. It's a weird program. The swing thing isn't built into the interface, so you have to load that machine and place a trigger in the sequencer to activate it. It probably sounds more complicated than it is, but that's pretty much Buzz in a nutshell.
I just got my deluge last week and didn’t even know about that ability until I did it in person. Was sequencing some ableton instruments with it and suprisingly it kept up for most of it .. When it tops out, you can come up with some interesting tones - its like an oscillator at that point, audio rate madness !
Bpm 6000, orly? xD When we in Germany have some deluges to try and buy in Stores? I am a bit interessted in. very like cv (for my eurorack) and piano roll specials (FL Studio like), sample loading is awesome. don´t like the small display (no vertical led´s? the V looks like a y or µ...), and not enough knobs to set up the oscillators, sure basically its a drummachine...a good one of course... the functions are much, for melodical structures in a drummachnes a improved way... a bit confusing are the same knobs combos for different options, then I have to be careful... what i not found...how can i edit samples and sample loops in lenght, slicing, reverse? Aha, timestreching and so on, nice nice.... I have a eye on it. Regards.
Question: if you have sequence, that is longer than 16 steps, do you have to scrool on those steps column by column, or you can page there with one additional press of some button? (example, i have a pattern, that is spread across 4 pages: 1-16; 17-32; 33-48; 49-64 and i want quickly get on the 3rd page... i am on first page with 1-16 can i just turn dial button 2 times to get on third page with 33-48 range?...because if now and you have to scrool column by column, you easily lost tracks where are your pattern grid-lines and first beats.) Question 2: can you disable notes on track-view with push of a button? or do you have to erase them from sequence to make them silent?
Q1. Yes, as you scroll it changes page/screen (depending on your chosen zoom level) you are viewing, not each column. Q2. Yes. You can mute an entire track or you can mute a note/sample within a track without having to erase.
Not pretty sure i got the question right. If you mean to be able to play notes on an external midi controller, f.ex a midi keyboard, it is yes. You can record on the fly. You can also record via the integrated keyboard or simply enter the notes via the piano-roll style. You could also control it via an external sequencer if you would like. If i don't hit the spot, please rephrase the question, i might be able to help out ;)
Iam looking for a Drum Computer / Sequencer right now and this just seems to be IT! So i can actually have a kit Track that is lets say 4 bars long and a Midi Track that is 16 bars long, right? :)
thats right, though they don't have to be multiples of 4 and there are no limitations (other than RAM). You could have a kit track 3 bars and 4 notes long and a MIDI track thats 63 bars and 7 notes long. Your kit track could be 16th notes, the MIDI track could be 64th notes (or finer). Totally flexible.
Thanks for the reply. Wasnt completely sure, because i thought it could be like the Digitakt, where you can set the last step per Track, but are still locked to a max of 4 bars.. 'Unfortunately' your response was a bit too slow, already ordered my Deluge after watching almost every Video / Tutorial there is.. :))
I saw the 3 tutorials, they were all in C major... Really wondering if theres only one scale available. Sharps / Flats should at least be included in the piano roll, as there should be different scales / tonalities available...
The RGB color button matrix is almost the same as the Arturia MatrixBrute, but obviously without the powerful Arturia MatrixBrute, the Synthstrom Deluge is too costly and the price is too high. The only advantage is that he is more portable, but that does not make me have any The desire to buy. In my opinion, Synthstrom Deluge price of up to 500 US dollars!
The matrix brute is over 2000 US dollars. Difficult to be relevant when comparing completely different product with completely different price range !!! But Yeah "The RGB color button matrix is almost the same", are you serious ? What about a Multi track sequencer for other instruments, sampler, drum machine, 3 times cheaper... Ho Wait ! the matrix brute don't do that ! the deluge seems so cheap now !
or use both. this peice seems like the good centerpeice to replace using a daw for advanced sequencing, playlist stuff. it has the cvs and gate outs so connecting it to a matrix brute/eurorack stuff seems like a no brainer, also one should compare this to other sequencers/ samplers / drum machines. as a eurorack person myself. compare this to say the octatrack would be a better compare. as we have not had the best samplers sequencers with cv outs etc
The MatrixBrute is a monosynth (with paraphonic capabilities). This is a sampler, polyphonic and multitimbral synth, sampler, and sequencer for under $1k USD. ...So what are you even on about?
you really need this synth to be reviewed by someone else then yourself' you talk too fast with a heavy accent, the whole thing is too long and wrong' i wanted to learn about the sampling workflow but couldn't make it through your videos. nothing personal it looks amazing, but you are explaining it totally wrong. fact is im interested in this unit since iv heard of it but cant make it through a video. im your classic client, producer with lots of analogs looking for a live non computer solution, is it this machine, cant tell, im exhausted from trying ...
It seems silly to say he's explaining it wrong.. He is the creator of this machine after all. I do agree the videos could be time stamped to make jumping sections easier. Sampling and recording samples are in the last 1/4 of video 1 fyi

Damn. Another bit of kit that I need to have. Awesome product! Very innovative! All this from a Kiwi!
What an amazing piece of technology ! How did you manage to program everything and how long did it take you to achieve this masterpiece ?

Cool...if the roll out is solid, and the price agreeable, I expect there will be ALL sorts of folks interested in this...

"Over 9000!" BPM, that's great, uncommon for a drum machine ; - ) there are many interesting possibilities here...
I laughed my ass off the first time he rolled the BPM up-- it said "FAST" and coffee shot out my nose. Incredible. I'm getting one.

So you can make extratone with it !?=) I'm thinking of getting one as sequencer.

Hi. Can the Deluge sequence live what you play on the hardware, or do you have to programme the notes on the Deluge? Great Machine BTW

You can live record into the sequencer on the Deluge. It's not necessary to program it by hand.

Is it velocity sensitive ?
the pads are not velocity sensitive, but you can adjust velocity.
I'm also pretty sure it will record velocity data when sequenced from an external controller too.
17:25 - 17:40 R.I.P. headphone users 😆
Must Have!!!!
I saw the 3 tutorials, they were all in C major... Really wondering if theres only one scale available. Sharps / Flats should at least be included in the piano roll, as there should be different scales / tonalities available...
Watch the first walkthrough from 13:30.
You can choose a scale, or you can input notes in chromatic mode (and if you then switch to scale mode it will guess what scale you are in).
can you define different midi channels? in case u want to use a midi splitter and run different maschines via midi....
yes, you can use all 16 channels
sick!
Its a gift but also a curse
... FAST

That’s your issue - not his
It's not a review. Its sounds like its your own problems that are stopping you from understanding these video demonstrations
