I love your description of the Gotham City album! I’m curious what it sounds like. Awesome! You played a sample for us! Nice choice with Anvil. I have the DVD.
Very cool stuff here... I liked that John song.. definitely similarities to Donovan... I was also hooked on that Gotham City song.. cool stories. Cheers, Darryl.
This was a lot of fun and loved your approach "interacting" with Dillon. The Trad, Gras Och Stenar is one I am indeed looking for. A beauty. But the John lp from South Africa is the true revelation. I was not aware of that at all. Will be looking into it for sure. wonderful stuff!
Hi Dom! In my head it was a great idea to have a dialogue with Dillon, but it was hard work editing it together 😂 But a lot of fun doing it. Yes, that John album is a gem. It really needs to be reissued and heard. I think Sunbeam in England has tried to reissue it, but since John is dead it's hard to get it together. Still a mysterious record and I would love to hear the full story behind him and the record. Cheers!
This was a thoroughly entertaining tag response. The edits and storytelling paired beautifully. I thought it was interesting how the menacing Swenglish vocals and raw metal power of Gotham City were less frightening than the mellow sweetness of "Willow's Song." Checking the lyrics of "Willow's Song," I realize that I missed the final lines of the song while watching the movie: How a maid can milk a bull! And every stroke a bucketful Those pagan folkies sure are sillier than those hedonistic metalheads. Cheers, Jacob
Thanks Jacob! Haha, yes it was a lot of fun doing it. Most metalheads I have met are among the kindest people around, despite all the pentagrams etc. I've missed that line in the lyrics, haha. Cheers!
This was a fun video idea and I think I trust you more than mr Dillon. He said almost every hard rock is "killer cool" Shall try Grandaddy and the Hipgnosis doc... Boxes answer, All things must pass Jesus Christ superstar, A gift....Donovan album......
Thanks Hasse! Dillon is great, it was fun to do this vinyl tag. Try Grandaddy's "The Sophtware Slump" from 2000, it's great. Hipgnosis Squaring the Circle was a great documentary as well. Take care!
I thought as I watched your singer songwriter video, I bet this dude has the John Phillips lp and sure enough you do 😁. Have you not tried some eraser on the sleeve reverse? I do that with every white card sleeve and you can pretty much remove all the grubby black marks, or at least make them look less black. I also clean all laminated sleeves with spirits so that dirt on the line where the laminate meets that non-laminated part could be cleaned back to white without much difficulty. That Kinks result was great plus free Drake box. Don't suppose you ever found a Stark Reality in your part of the world? I'm sure I recall reading online many years ago some copies ended up in Sweden? Main bonus of the Trunk Wicker Man is the cave chase scene with the psych rock instro music which sadly isn't on the master tape version. Your box sets? Got to be Donovan - Gift From A Flower, Beatles - Let It Be and George - All Things. Great video anyway. Cheers Nige
Hi Nige! I also clean laminated covers with spirits, but I have to try the back with a rubber. Good tip, thanks. Stark Reality is a classic Sweden record. For some reason they used to turn up here, but not so much anymore. I once found one in a collection, also a steal of a deal. But I was foolish to sell it, I sooo regret that now, I think the album is fantastic. Stupid me. I forgot to mention the music from the cave scene in Wicker Man, really cool music there. Nice box guesses, I'll announce the winner later on. Cheers!
@@vinylstockholm Good luck with the rubber clean up, I think you'll be happy with the results. I thought you'd know about the benefits of spirits on laminated sleeves 😉. Ah, nice one on the Stark Reality and thanks for confirming the story. I bet you turn up another copy one day. Cheers Nige
Good stuff. To be honest, I didn't understand some of Dylan's prompts. I'm clearly failing in my VC membership. That's the only Dennis Linde album I don't have...Promo or no promo...Nomo...A track was sampled by DJ Shadow on his classic Endroducing album, therefore it's sought after by groovy hipsters and the prices have gone through the roof and poor country/folk singer-songwriter fans can't afford it. Cheers - Hedley
Thanks Hedley! I don't really care if I have a promo or not, I actually think I prefer a regular release. I didn't know about DJ Shadow, I got that record from a recommendation long time ago. Take care!
@wilbersears Hi! You guessed right first, so you win a record. Please send an email to vinylstockholm@gmail.com with your address. Also, please let me know what type of music you dig. /Jonas
How could you talk about Wicker Man and not mention Britt Eklund? I think she was the only thing I noticed the first time I saw the picture. I envy that you have stories about your purchases. The few times I've bought from distant sellers, the story usually goes "I bought it, then I had to wait a really long time, and then I got it." However many years ago I bought a Clash 12 inch from a French seller who asked me to send cash. I did--and I got the record okay. As for your contest, I refuse to jump through your hoops, my Swedish friend. But the only box I (sorta) got was for George Harrison's All Things Must Pass. I got it free so, naturally, the box was smashed. The records were okay. Sorry for going on so long but I guess a long video deserves a long reply. Have fun at Den Bosch.
Haha, I probably should have mentioned that famous scene where she sings Willow's Song. However that scen was filmed with a body double. Thanks for the long reply, cheers!
You are dealing in snobbery. Music is music regardless of the source. Many of the records you show on your channel can be had cheaper. Avoiding streaming services is absolutely necessary in my opinion. But to pay a thousand for an LP you have to be rich and then the music becomes just a commodity in a capitalist system. Grow Up!
Maybe you should grow up! If you don't like how i collect that's fine, just don't come here and spread your shit! Keep it to yourself and scroll on. How I collect is my business, mind your own!

@@vinylstockholm I've had the same experience with metalheads. They tend to be very polite and considerate of others.
Loved this, well done!
Thanks so much!
Good luck on the record show. Nice episode. 🚀🖖
Many thanks Rik!

Here’s my boxed set guesses:
1967 - Donovan-Gift From A Flower to a Garden
1970 - George Harrison - All Things Must Pass
1970 - Jesus Christ Superstar

Dette var en veldig god video! Dillon burde være veldig fornøyd 😊
Takk! Det var gøy å lage videoen. 😊
Box set guess: A Gift from a Flower to a Garden by Donovan, Let it Be, All Things Must Pass ???
Good guesses! I will announce the winner later. Cheers!
