Truly a good deal. Even at the price point of $89. You got that right. I pre-ordered the original CEDA, and when it finally arrived months later it was possibly the most disappointing blaster I've ever received. I loved the ergonomics, but the performance was pure shit with the Omni Kit. At the time I refused to buy an upgrade, I figured it was good money after bad, and I had a Caliburn by then so why bother. I just ordered the Alpha RT kit for my original CEDA and a CEDA S from Out of Darts. I'm hoping that way I'll have two decent blasters. I mostly just shoot at targets like Bradley does, but I like to hit what I'm aiming at.
Great Video Bradley. I have 3 CEDA's now and I have to say that it is a wicked blaster. One of them is very comfortably hitting 280fps+ on the 16kg AK spring. Its got a bunch of other tweeks, but its still light weight, hits ultra hard, and shoots laser straight. Its giving my Zeus a full on run for run for its money. I love all my CEDA's, including the S I just got too. The wait was incredibly long, but worth it in the end. Just wish Jet would get their act together when it comes to how they get tneir product out.

Well I received mine a week ago and I agree with everything you have said. It really is the best bang for your buck and best under 200 fps blaster you can get. I do have a dzp...they are just a pain to work on in my opinion.
This Nexus Pro didn't exist yet when this video was taken, but now you can get just as much power straight out of the box in the Nexus pro for $49. By far the best bang for the buck blaster ever released.
First off, I recently found your channel and found your review videos to be extremely well put together. Very valuable information. Keep up the great work! Now, I know you value accuracy. Based on your experience with the 12k and 16k springs in the CEDA Model S, is one better suited than the other for accuracy? I know the ZRO and the BlasterTech SCAR barrel basically control the accuracy. Would you want a 16k spring just to make up for velocity lost due to the SCAR barrel? Would the 12k be just as accurate but at a shorter distance? I hope that all makes some kind of sense.
Accuracy should be similar between the two springs, however, I think the 16kg will give you a sore arm by the end of the day if you aren't used to high spring loads. Why not get both and try them?
Awesome review, as always. Focusing on real life application and not just academic conclusions. Here's a couple of questions for you: - Can you explain why such a "small" spring difference (from 10 to 12kg) makes such a big difference in FPS? - Would you say that having more FPS is better just so you don't need to aim higher? Because it seems irrelevant to accuracy...
I'm guessing that the ZRO is too much friction on the darts at low velocity and affects them more. But when I step up to a slightly higher spring, the darts have an easier time of clearing the ZRO rifled barrel. As for velocity I'd always go the highest your rules allow because not only do you not have to aim as high, faster darts are also harder to dodge.
hands down best reviewer. what you do is exactly what we all want to know. data tells the story. question though. the small black tube that sits in the bolt sled. do you need to upgrade that?
The breech pusher (mine broke) was unrelated to the stronger spring and had everything to do with the stock standard boltsled failing. It doesn't need to be replaced.
Not bad for a broken pusher. I’d love to see you do a review of the gameface prime version btw, with dart zone darts vs worker vs the darts the blaster comes with. Compare it to the nexus pro too.
I absolutely would, it's a lot stiffer internally, cheaper to upgrade better, and doesn't feel mushy priming, or fairlyinaccurate like my Nexus. Also, it has a better quality shell that easily taken down fast, and a big plus being a decently sealed full breach!
i bet you would benefit really well from having one of those adjustable rail attachments that raise the angle of your entire scope. they have some on etsy for like $20.
good point about the sled , lm surprised they used the clear sled from the first ceda box ( ive still got mine ) as it was as flimsy as the solid color one it came with under load from the 25N spring , flexing to the point of walking out of the sled grooves at the back , the prophecy sled works well ,but you cant beat a metal sled for higher spring rates
You get a thumbs up for your accuracy test. I assume you are using that blaster stand, which is the only way any accuracy test would make sense. All others are invalid.
As always a great review, but specifically about your half length vs full length dart comparison: Locally we only run full lengths for ease of compatability. Stock blasters and light mods can all just run whatever is in the war bins. Half lengths are indeed superior, but lots of people here (as in I'm the only one who have setups for both types) only run stock type breeches for full lengths.
If you really want full length dart compatibility, a brass sleeper breech will fire both dart kinds and also shoot harder than what I showed in this video.
@@BradleyPhillipsYT Yep, this much I'm aware, since I personally build brass breeches in a few styles. What I'm referring to though are the newer players, and/or less competitive players that make up by far the majority in my area. Full length is a must to play here, and for me personally I have no fewer than 8 brass breeched blasters for use with whatever dart I choose. Most players here just run stock breeches with AR removed, or Retaliators with Worker breeches.
I recently bought a CEDA S. Did anyone notice that the white silicon protection ring in the tube sometimes moves together with the plunger rod when you prime the blaster backwards. When I fire the blaster the ring gets scrambled inside the head of the plunger rod so I have to rearrange this ring quite often. Is that a common problem and do anyone know a solution for this? @@BradleyPhillipsYT Is it normal that the protection ring in the tube always moves together with the plunger rod? Or has it to stay in place at the end of the plunger tube?

As far as I'm aware, the Nerf Eze adapter doesn't require opening the blaster. Just insert it and you're good to go. Remove it and you're back to full lengths.
Few questions... 1) Did you have problems removing the screws on the CEDA model S when taking it apart? They seem overly tight and some people reported loctite was used... 2) Do you still have the original CEDA? I wonder how the build quality is compares to that. I love my CEDA model S. I haven't noticed my pump handle scratching my CEDA model S yet... but I am planning on replacing it soon. I wonder if there's too much contact between the plastics or maybe there's some bad unsmooth plastic that's causing it. But I think I know what my upgrade plan is for the CEDA model S thanks to this video.
I didn't notice the screws being tight, definitely not loctited. Though I have heard the shotgun grip's screws are done up really tight from the factory. I didn't undo those screws personally. Compared to original Ceda there is definitely a little build quality improvement in the plastic used.
Hi Bradley, any alternative Ideas/leads on how to achieve the brass barrel? Spectre has ceased taking jobs, Omni’s are gone and 3D printed adaptors don’t seem to be the go...cheers.
Thanks once again for the most in depth review out there. (Tbh I don't know why I bother watching other reviews any more) One question how was the prime with the last spring you used, compared to the other two? I find with the higher springs in various blasters I realy like the option of a vertical (or slanted) fore grip. Hence I wo dered if the 'longshot' style fore grip had a tendency to want to slip out of your hand.
To summarise the 16kg spring, my wrist is still sore. The Ceda's grip isn't really ergonomic enough to use it long term. I went back to 12kg since our local wars only have a 180fps cap anyway.
I'm new to foam blasters and only recently bought a CEDA-S and want to improve on its already impressive accuracy. I don't know how to mod, but would like to add the Blastermod SCAR barrel. Could you explain in more detail how you accomplished the barrel swap in order to replace the ZRO barrel for the SCAR one?
The simplest way for you to do that would be to buy a Monkeemods threaded barrel in a long enough length that it protrudes from the front of the muzzle, then use a 16mm Universal Blastertech SCAR which you can secure with a little bit of electrical tape.
@@BradleyPhillipsYT Would the larger diameter monkee barrel suffer reduced accuracy due to less of a seal? Aside from that, is it pretty much just a drop-in kit? If so, I can atleast try it. Also: I purchased a purple aluminum bolt sled just like you did in this video. It just arrived. It came with one small black "screw" and 4 brass knobs. How does one use the brass knobs? Anyway, this is exciting!
@@BradleyPhillipsYT My only concern is with accuracy, not FPS. I will gladly sacrifice FPS for accuracy. I just get the feeling that Monkee barrels improve reliability in exchange for accuracy loss (too loose tolerances.)
You don't need those brass screws with Ceda, just for other retaliator blasters. For the ultimate accuracy you could contact Spectres Nerf Armaments and commission a brass barrel for the Ceda.
What is it about that lube that you like? Wouldn't you prefer something like super lube? Also what type of camera do you use for your firing demos? They look great!
I use this one because it's made and sold in Australia, can find it at a local hardware store. Not sure if the same can be said about Super Lube. They probably work the same.
Great video...so I put in the ak 16 spring and the worker aluminum sled...it won’t prime...when I take it apart...I can manually prime it with it catching...any ideas?
Could try the method people used to use with longshots where you epoxy some metal plates to it, but the effort required for that honestly I'd just get an aluminium bolt sled.
Question: what state do you live in? I’m in Victoria and we can order Nerf guns and gel blasters interstate, but can get into massive strife if we get caught with em
Nice review, I am tempted to get one. How would you feel about splitting the priming force into 2 parts? Pulling 6kg then pushing 6kg instead of pulling 12kg and pushing 0kg. Joerg sprave of the slingshot channel thought it up and I was wondering if that could have a place in nerf.
i don't think that would work without a major rework to the internals, because assuming you mean 2 springs, the one you push would be pushing against the plunger, slowing it down and causing less air to make it to the breech
The stock aluminum barrel is too narrow inside to fit brass. You'll need something wider like the Omni LS Kit or Mod Bros 3D printed adapter for brass.
I linked the sled and springs in the description if you want to check out the prices of those. Compared to DZP stock, this is more accurate. www.dropbox.com/s/ojpogunilf0prbh/20200221_072853.jpg?dl=0
My ceda s is hitting 147to 158 i do not know whats wrong with your ceda s. Also give it time to knock in because at first it was hitting 100 to 135 but about a month later I got 150 to 170 so new people who buy the ceda s you have a tip
I usually set the vertical down as low as it goes so you automatically arc your shots for long range, then for horizontal just shoot at something like a metal pole and adjust until you hit it.
Bradley Phillips thanks man, my ceda model s was shooting real good, but I lubricated it and now it seems to be shooting off my sights I’ll try your method
Hi Bradley, I upgraded my Ceda S with a 12 kg spring, a metal boltsled from Worker and changed the internals to Worker metal parts (dart pusher, gate and chamber). Now my problem is that the Ceda shreds nearly every Worker Gen3 dart I shoot. 7, 8 out of 10 darts are losing their heads after leaving the barrel. The Ceda now shoots around 190, 200 fps. But it eats darts like sh... Is that a problem with the new internals from Worker? Or are the darts the problem?
It's the darts late. Worker gen 3 lose heads detach if you so much as look at them. So much so that I've started pulling them off and re gluing them before use.
Can anyone give me some more info on creating the brass barrel? I just got mine and want to do this but I don’t have the connector piece he uses in the video. Can you use the black section for the original barrel or is there a better way? Is the 3D printed option the only one?
You need to somehow adapt the brass to a UNF 5/8-18 thread. The easiest way is using a Jet Omni barrel, next easiest would be 3D printing an adapter, and hardest would be threading your own aluminium like Spectres Nerf Workshop does.
I just ended up with a ceda breach from a commission. Stuck it in a retaliator shell and replaced the aluminium barrel with a length of 17/32 brass. A bit of plumber tape and it fit in the ceda perfectly. Hits 150 with a 9 kg spring and standard retal pt.
Caliburn has a much larger air volume so it can hit higher velocities. If you only want to shoot below 200fps, Ceda is good for you. If you want to shoot higher, go Caliburn.
Hi Bradley, i own a Ceda model S. Is it safe to use a 12 kg AK Blaster Mod spring and a metal boltsled from Worker or do i have to exchange any other parts to avoid damage? I found a metal plunger tube but i do not know whether it is really neccessary. Hope you can give me an answer.
I've been using that exact spring with no issues so far just with a metal sled. I'd say give it a go and if anything breaks then worry about replacing those parts with stronger.
Another thing... The screws that hold the sled are smaller than the holes at the side of the metal worker sled. So they are not really tightened to this holes. Could this be a problem e. g. screws could break or flip out?
I need honest feedback on this. I'm. Organising LARP where some high performance nerf will be used. Is the CEDA so strong that my players would legally need eye protection? Is that blaster this strong?
You mentioned in the beginning that you didn't think any reason to use full length darts. The main reason, at least in America, is that many public games don't allow them, because they are either not on the list they made or they are considered performance darts and believe someone using them is trying to exceed the fps limit. This is mostly the case on college campuses were the board member hear performance darts and ban them instantly, because they don't understand the hobby.
@@BradleyPhillipsYT unfortunately it's about the same price from evike. They want 80 USD postage. We get screwed pretty hard us Aussies for most things. Thanks for the response mate! Keep up the good job
Hi Bradley Phillips, I'm in Australia. I have 2 questions about the blasters (Caliburn and CEDA). 1. How did you get your blasters to Australia. Because when I try to buy a CEDA blaster (via Evike.com). The border security confiscated it, they said that I may have to obtain a firearm license in order to collect it? 2. If you have those blasters, do you need a firearm license in order to acquire them?
Evike has that policy with anything you order from them, you do not need permits to import Nerf into Australia though so just find somewhere else that sells it. Evike has this policy because they also sell Airsoft stuff which we can't have.
@@Aar0nD3l31l31 Nah the rules have been made equivalent to other countries. We will get all this stuff on shelves very soon. This is a new model adapter from Worker that comes with a release lever
@@BradleyPhillipsYT Awesome! I am definitely going to pick one up with my metal bolt sled and spring :)
Hi Bradley, any alternative Ideas/leads on how to achieve the brass barrel? Spectre has ceased taking jobs, Omni’s are gone and 3D printed adaptors don’t seem to be the go...cheers.
I think just use a Monkeemods aluminum barrel
Always keeping our scopes dialed in
Thanks once again for the most in depth review out there.
What is the overall length?
I apologize if this was asked, but which aluminum bolt sled did you use?
Worker
Finish closing the breach to get your FPS up. You should here it click shut.
I saw you used a worker bolt sled is it held in with a screw or a pin with the ceda-s
It's a threaded bolt
Bradley Phillips so it just a simple swap (sorry for asking a lot)
I love my ceda it's a blast to shoot
By the way, the CEDA-S is my first Nerf blaster. 😁
Is white lithium grease good for lubrication? Aka lucas white lithium grease?
I believe some people use that, what I use is Inox Mx6 though.
Great video...so I put in the ak 16 spring and the worker aluminum sled...it won’t prime...when I take it apart...I can manually prime it with it catching...any ideas?
Guessing the sled might be a weird shape or something, or it's not in the tracks properly.
Bradley Phillips I should’ve measured the pusher...I was using the orange mod works pusher which is longer than the rt ...thanks for the reply!
Is there any way to reinforce the stock bolt sled?
Could try the method people used to use with longshots where you epoxy some metal plates to it, but the effort required for that honestly I'd just get an aluminium bolt sled.
If you were to use this out of the box, but remove zro, how much more would the performance go up?
Probably gain about 10% but you will lose accuracy...
How would you say this compared to the prophecy with the high power worker internals?
About the same, though this is easier to adapt to a brass barrel for better performance.
That isn't a nerf right? What is the name or is the same with special ammo?
It's technically not made by the company Nerf so it's not a "Nerf blaster" but it is a dart blaster all the same.
Question: what state do you live in?
I’m in Victoria and we can order Nerf guns and gel blasters interstate, but can get into massive strife if we get caught with em
South Australia. Nerf blasters are completely legal nationwide though it's only Gel that isn't.
I'm not sure how exactly that would work with this. Perhaps a whole blaster could be designed to do that?
Is the grip wobbly? Is the plastic creaky?
The grip is not wobbly as far as I can tell. The plastic doesn't creak as much as the original Ceda.
So how exactly did you affix the brass barrel? Is it possible to cut off the threads on the stock aluminum barrel and glue them on the brass?
The stock aluminum barrel is too narrow inside to fit brass. You'll need something wider like the Omni LS Kit or Mod Bros 3D printed adapter for brass.
@@BradleyPhillipsYT where can I purchase a Omni LS barrel?
I believe they sold out and are revising the product for a new design so probably can't get it currently
@@BradleyPhillipsYT darn
@@BradleyPhillipsYT would it work if I just wrapped the brass in electrical tape and friction fitted it in?
Could you put scar barrel on it
It comes with one on it. And I did put one on it in the video.
First! Great detailed review as usual.
How does the accuracy of this compare to the dart zone mk1 out of the box? Also, can you put the prices of all the mods you made?
I linked the sled and springs in the description if you want to check out the prices of those. Compared to DZP stock, this is more accurate. www.dropbox.com/s/ojpogunilf0prbh/20200221_072853.jpg?dl=0
How far do you think you could shoot with no upward angle? Both stock spring, and upgraded?
Not sure, maybe 20 metres max?
@@BradleyPhillipsYT Wow! Thanks for responding!
So all i need to be able to run a 12kg spring is the metal bolt sled ?
What about 16 kg
Same for 16kg
@@BradleyPhillipsYT thanks man
My ceda s is hitting 147to 158 i do not know whats wrong with your ceda s. Also give it time to knock in because at first it was hitting 100 to 135 but about a month later I got 150 to 170 so new people who buy the ceda s you have a tip
Can't wait to thrift these.
George Attard I don’t think anyone buying something this serious into nerf will leave them at a thrift shop
I have to agree, these aren't sold at Target, they're sold online.
There’s plenty of stuff bought online at thrift stores. Just sayin.
How do you zero in the sights on your blasters?
@@FelixstoweFoamForge what glue you use?
@@Tunedawg23 A general contact type adhesive. Doesn't get brittle like superglue does and seems to hold up pretty well.
Do you thing it’s better than the caliburn?
Do you expect any improvement in performance by using a metal plunger tube and a metal dart pusher?
Another thing... The screws that hold the sled are smaller than the holes at the side of the metal worker sled. So they are not really tightened to this holes. Could this be a problem e. g. screws could break or flip out?
Would u recommend the ceda s or nexus pro
Are you in Australia? Cause if you are Im so gonna buy one of these!
Yeah, I'm from Aus
@@BradleyPhillipsYT Is this stuff legal? just out of curiosity. before i buy one.
Sure is
I need honest feedback on this. I'm. Organising LARP where some high performance nerf will be used.
Is the CEDA so strong that my players would legally need eye protection? Is that blaster this strong?
You should always be using eyepro for projectile sports in my opinion
@@BradleyPhillipsYT Especially with those small projectiles, good call.
Plenty of M4 style stocks from gel blaster shops.
That's where I got mine!
If your local war doesn't allow half length darts, show them how End War, the largest college campus nerf event in the world, allows them.

Worth paying $240 Aussie dollars tho Bradley??????
I'm tempted
How is this $240?

That's the only price I can find in Aus pre-order.
Try Evike or Black Tactical pricing with shipping added. Surely still cheaper than that!
@@BradleyPhillipsYT unfortunately it's about the same price from evike.

@@BradleyPhillipsYT Any alternative way(s) to buy them without making this same mistake again?
@@Aar0nD3l31l31 I'm surprised they took it. Foam blasters are not banned. Especially now that the toy regs have changed again.
@@IIIIRokzIIII Either they've enforced stricter rules and/or probably I've ordered it on a wrong store.
@@Aar0nD3l31l31 Nah the rules have been made equivalent to other countries. We will get all this stuff on shelves very soon. Evike are horrible to deal with, I tried buying from them once, all non-illegal stuff and they waited 2 weeks then just refunded me.
I am really really surprised ABF confiscated a Ceda, was there anything else in the packaging? Foam blasters are not illegal at all. There are online shops selling them in Aust, I got mine on Gumtree from a store.
Also, you ever need a proper brass breech made, let me know :-)
