thats just bad business, as an artist if you sell your art to someone, unless you preestablished royalties or resale guidelines, the art belongs to the person who commissioned you. if they make the character popular and resale it that is none of your business. if you make a painting and sale it in a gallery, and then the person who bought it resales it for a few million, that sucks, but thats not your money.
