As a native of Brooklyn, NY, I got to visit the fair four times. I saw "its a small world" in 1964 at age 12...Okay, cute dolls, song was cute, etc. Jump to 1974, and now I'm a resident of Miami. I went to the fairly new Walt Disney World for the first time, and saw "it's a small world" for the second time. To WDW's credit, their newer version was quite similar to this original, and keeping the original premise of this ride intact to this day by not including any of its movie characters into the array of dolls from countries around the world who are singing about peace and harmony.
i LOVE the its a small world after all ride. it always left a big impression on me as a kid. i love it for so many reasons and after seeing this video, so many more. first of all i have a huge obsession over animatronics, and how disney started them fascinates me, second i love the idea of being able to go around the world cuz im a fan of traveling to places youve never been before, i love the nostalgia the ride has now a days. and even tho alot of people hate the song, i cant help but love it.
It's a Small World is a standout memory from the World's Fair in July of '65. Even my younger brother remembers that ride. Seeing it here again really has taken me way back.
As someone who went to both Disneyland and the World's Fair, I consider this a classic, and perhaps the most fascinating and charming 50 minutes or so ever on television.
This is why EPCOT is and always will be my favorite park. It is a way to experience what a world's fair could be like. Only my grandparents actually were able to see this 1964 event with their own eyes and i am so jealous! It's really a shame that today park is just these big empty fields with the 3 remaining structures in decay
So much nostalgic feeling to it. If I could I would totally become the CEO of Disney just to restore the company to its splendor and originality that it featured in Walt's time. As much as this sounds wimpy and unmanly, this is a very emotional video for me. I really wish I was able to experience what it was like to go to Disneyland in the 60's.
35:22 hey that's the music of the Disneyland Christmas parade in 1960 to film holiday at Disneyland that music played at the very beginning of the parade
It was on this film originally. For some reason it was cut afterwards. There is another TH-cam video on which you CAN see that segment. Just type in "Disneyland Goes to the World's Fair - "Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln".
I wish I could back in time to 1964 to the World's Fair to see when Disney's Displays and Rides were 1st introduced to the Public before they moved them to Disneyland (And later Disney World).
What most don't realize is that, as crazy as it sounds, people thought Disneyland was a West Coast phenomenon, wouldn't play in the East so Disney was using the Fair to prove it could and pave the way for Disney World.
If walt thought that brontosauruses were large then he would be awestruck when he saw the size of an argentiniosaurus they were over 100 feet long and weighed 60 to 90 tons.
You can find out more about it on the davelandweb web site. It was later replaced by the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. I found out from another video that if you take one of the "Lost Disneyland" tours, you can still find some of the remnants of the original Nature's Wonderland Railroad if you look in the right places.
you know it´sa small world was the only best ride in 1960s because the other dark rides were evry creepy in 1950s but the dark rides are so much fun than ever in 2019
@@mustaqimamali5646 Haha really?? thats awesome! My parents and family are from Indonesia. I am from Indonesian origin. But i'm born in the Netherlands! 😊

I love Walt's subtle sense of humour. Tells us something that's obvious to anyone in a completely serious tone.
Walt Disney is why I became a sculptor and an artist!
Music makes the world go round.
Am I the only one that almost cried when Walt first appreared on the screen? Man, I wish that guy was still alive, I would've loved to meet him!!! :)
And thanks for your own Disney videos, ManEatingWreath!
I wish I could travel back in time to see these wonderful attractions before they moved to Disneyland

Thank you so much for posting this video. I never saw it before and it was very interesting and entertaining. =-)
Who is a fellow fan of it's a small world
@8:40 Walt cleverly or unknowingly correctly inserts himself right after Henry Ford.
@2:48 A descendant of Wile E. Coyote.
22:57 that animatronic toucan was probably Paul Winchell who did the voice
Never mind, it was Wally Boag.

Sounds like it. I can't be certain, though.
OH GOD. WHY WORLD FAIR? Why spawn my favorite and least favorite rides at Disney?

If there was a scene showing the Abraham Lincoln figure "speaking", it's been edited out. >:(

Nothing it wrong with Disney except Disneyland Paris and too many Pixar characters.
That’s rude
Shouldn't it be "Nazi Sympathizer Goes to the World's Fair?"
