Can you imagine a classic Marvel block with Spider-Man series from the 60s and 80s, the Captain America, Iron Man, and Sub-Mariner series from the 60s, all the Hulk series from the 60s, 1982, and 90s (I don't know if Disney has the rights to the live action series with Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno), as well as the X-Men series from the 90s on and even the Fantastic Four apart from the 1967 series? And that's just the Marvel stuff. For instance, it would be nice to see the great old sporting events back on TV for the younger viewers to see, because it would allow the people of the younger generations to see the legends of the respective sports when they were at their best. The combination of ESPN Classic showing less and less of this kind of thing with the sports leagues, such as MLB, the NFL, and the NBA taking control of their own properties, and then not often airing classic programming, doesn't allow viewers to see the legends that built the respective sports to what they are now. I believe that ESPN Classic should get back to airing the programming for which the original Classic Sports Network was created for. And Boomerang also seems to be showing fewer and fewer of the classics for which that particular network was launched by Cartoon Network in 2000. One thing Hasbro did when they bought into the Discovery Channel about five years ago to create the Hub, which is now Discovery Family, was to bring back the Sunbow/Marvel classics from the 80s, such as G.I. Joe and the original Transformers series (with the original commercial bumpers). They even brought back the 60s Batman TV series for a couple of years, though six of the 120 episodes were never aired. I think some of the major franchises that don't have channels dedicated to classic programming should create at least one channel to air such programming, which contains some of the most popular and unforgettable programming ever aired. Some major franchises have such outlets, but others don't.

Or better yet, see Disneyland as it was back then. When I was last there in 2004, I made it a point to visit the older attractions, such as the Pirates (which was still the same as the original ride) and it's a Small World. But I didn't get to New Orleans Square (except for the Pirate ride) nor Tomorrowland, though I did go on the Mark Twain boat ride. We had a 3-hour delay in the latter portion of the trip, which cost us an opportunity to see more of Disneyland. We also had chances to go in the Abraham Lincoln attraction and I regret not doing so. And Sleeping Beauty's castle was closed, as they were beginning the preparations for the Golden Anniversary celebrations at the time we went there in September of 2004. There were seven of us, and four of those that went on that trip were in line at Splash Mountain when something went wrong with the ride and they got stuck there in line there for more than two hours, while the rest of us were searching for them (and I had popcorn and still have the container to this day), taking the Disneyland train three times, because we didn't know what had happened to the rest of our party. We had planned to visit more of Tomorrowland (we did hit the Star Tours ride), but couldn't because of that unseemly 3-hour hold. And since we lived in the San Diego area, it was a 2 hour plus trip each way up and down I-5 (we left for Disneyland at about 5:30 AM that morning and left Disneyland at about 9 PM that night), plus a hefty walk just to get to and from our vehicle.
People of today can't fit into clothes from 1967, that's why they wear expandable spandex garbage bags with holes and words like "juicy" and "pink" on them.
i was one of the few to 1st enjoy the pirate ride when it opened . when we were done i thought it was and still is one of my highlights of my life … my mother bought me three glass pirate heads made for kept up mustard and relish. i still have them today,,
The Pirates opening was excellent, what a perfect way to open the attraction. Truly so immersive. Disney never failed then, and it maintains that quality today.
We were guests of my father's VIP Press entrance pass that day. When we were in line, a representative from Disney asked my parents if I would ride the ride with the lady beside me. She was an actress hired by Disney. I was scared to go alone with a stranger, but my parents said yes and before you know it, I'm on the ride of my life.
Disneyland's greatest year would have to be 1969, in my opinion. The Haunted Mansion just opened that summer, Pirates of the Caribbean was just two years old. At that time, these attractions were so revolutionary, so ground breaking. Almost fifty years later, they're STILL two of the most popular attractions in the entire park. It's been said that the Disneyland version of Pirates of the Caribbean (almost twice as long as Disney World's version) would never be built today. In 1969 the 1967 "New Tomorrowland" was still VERY new with several brand new attractions. Plus, "It's a Small World" was added in 1966. Today, you'd have to go back twenty years (to 1995) and the opening of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom to find anything similar that Disneyland use to open almost every year. In 1969, there were no height limits to any ride at Disneyland. Little kids, teenagers, adults, even senior citizens could all ride the same attractions together. In 1969 Disneyland was IT - Disney World wouldn't open for two more years. There was nothing compare it to. Today, there are Disney Parks in Florida, Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong and (later this year) Shanghai. Sadly, thanks to almost ONE MILLION (!) annual pass holders, Disneyland today is very crowded - ALL THE TIME. And those who only want to go once a year (or less) - the gate admission is over $100.

I agree with some of that but not that Pirates would never have been made today. Sure, the fact that it had the structure there definitely helped when they redid it for the movie, but there are plenty of new large scale attractions at DL like Rise of the Resistance that have a higher production value than Pirates

Wonderful program. I can only imagine how exciting it must have been to be at the park in those days, with all the incredible new attractions and things to see. The sight of Tomorrowland with the Peoplemover and Monorail going above, Autopia and the subs below, the rocket ride spinning--so exciting! Everything's on the move! The future is bright! While there are still fun attractions in Tomorrowland, it seems more bland and sedate today. That was a special time in Disney history.

I am genuinely shocked that Disney+ hasn't put more classic Walt Disney Presents episodes like this on their service. Becky Cline, the head of the Disney Archives, promised that plenty of episodes would be uploaded onto there. BTW, this was released two years after Walt died, which explains why Walt didn't introduce the program at the beginning.
Frankly, I'm not that surprised more classic Disney episodes haven't ended up on Disney+, because most of these entities don't really care all that much about classic programming. That's a big reason why networks like Boomerang (Cartoon Network's old spin-off channel for classic programming), ESPN Classic, and other networks like that either no longer exist or no longer air classic programming the way they once did.
+James Klatt The biggest problem with Disneyland during that period was getting there, because that was prior to the reconstruction of I-5 in Anaheim, meaning they had the original three lane-per side alignment, and traffic was awful on both I-5, as well as 22 and 91 was getting to I-5. It's a lot better now since I-5 was reconstructed in the late 90s in Anaheim.
Dad was stationed at Edwards AFB and mom and Dad took us 5 kids to Disneyland in 1968. This very year. I was 8 years old then. Yeah, go ahead, do the math. I'm a old man now Anyways, we weren't rich, by any means. With 5 kids on an NCO's salary, mom being a stay-at-home mother, well, yup Disneyland was a huge deal. We were each given a Ticket book, and that was it. Mom and dad made sure that we went on certain rides, like It's a Small World, Pirates of the Caribbean, Disneyland Railroad, Autopia and Carousel of Progress. Circle Rama was free, and dad being an aerial photographer for the Air Force wanted the whole family to see what the new technology in photography is up to. For me, I chose to also ride the Skyride, and I'm glad that I did. I thought it was a great ride. I felt forced to ride Small World, and still do when my wife makes me. But oh well. We brought our own lunch so we kept it on a cooler near the front of the park and ate it there. The end of the day was near dusk. Is kids wanted to see the lights but I guess mom and dad were exhausted so off to Edwards AFB it was. Since then we've been back to Disneyland many times over. We even had an AYPb and one time for our 5 kids. They loved it. Over that year we went 13 weekends and we live in Utah. Can't beat that.
2017 marks the 50th Birthday of THE PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN RIDE and it was Walt Disney's final project that was dedicated to him after his death in 1966.
With 6 kids in our family, W.D.W.W.O.C. was as close as we got to "Disleyland" (my little sister's pronunciation) for years, even though we lived in San Diego; those E tickets were pricey. Additionally, my mom got sucked into the Jehovah's Witlesses at some point and we got dragged along in her wake. This meant that on Sunday evening when we were just getting seated in a steamy Kingdom Hall, faces flushed and sweating from neckties and humidity to listen to the sermon drone on for 90 minutes, my dad sat home and watched the show. If my mom didn't stay too long after the torture session to gossip about who was engaging in pagan behavior, we would get home in time to catch the last 10 minutes of the One True Magic Kingdom. That's how I learned that God is mean to kids.✟ 𓁏
It will be back the way it was down the line possibly in time for the 75th anniversary. Your dream will come true and Pirates will be made great again.

Well, as it says in the info box, I've had the complete episode since I recorded it in about 2000 or 2001 on the Disney Chanel's Vault Disney block they had then. In fact, every Classic Disney upload you see on my channel came from those original VCR recordings, unless otherwise noted in the info box. and that includes virtually the entire "World's Fair Era", from 1964-1970. And by the way, the part you see in this episode with Walt Disney talking about the Pirates of Caribbean ride can be seen in it's entirety in the episode "Disneyland's 10th Anniversary" (from 1965), which is also currently on my channel.
Sure brings back lots of memories I remember watching Disney with black & white GE TV. When Walt was alive it was clean with blessing s from God. There was someone who took off in a jet pack, but it is obvious the Disney Company used older footage to put this episode together.

Most people have that thought, because that was when Disney was Disney. But it's equally hard to believe that Vault Disney was taken off the Disney Channel nearly 12 years ago, which may be one reason I don't have quite as many of the really good animation episodes and Disneyland episodes as I would have liked to have. I only began watching and recording the episodes in 2000, so I only had about two years to get as many as possible, and I got about 25 good episodes and specials, as a result.
And I'm not the only one who has this kind of stuff on their channel. Disneytv4Me has other episodes up that I don't have. I only wish about seven or eight others weren't blocked, because they'd be up (all but one were at one point). The episodes that were blocked after I uploaded them were "The Story of the Animated Drawing" (1955), "The Plausible Impossible" (1956), "The Tricks of Our Trade" (1957), "The Fourth Anniversary Show" (1957), "A Present for Donald" (1955), "Two Happy Amigos" (1960), and "50 Happy Years" (1973). "The Disneyland Story" from 1954 had already been blocked when I attempted to upload it. All the episodes that became blocked, I took down.

Today, March 8, 2019 could be my last visit to Disneyland in the daytime for awhile. My Disneyland Card, which has options on how often you can visit without making a payment for admission, will not apply on the card on Fridays until November. I will miss going there. My first Disneyland visit was back in 1968, the year I moved to California!
Marcia should know that the Pirates of the Caribbean is a series of movies and there's 5 together. When the people mover came out, it had one of my other favorite movies and that's TRON.
The TRUE story goes that Disney were afraid they couldn’t make realistic skeletons for the ride so they used ALL donated parts from a hospital. So think about that when you watch these scenes again
Originally the Disney Channel aired shows like this along with their classic movies and even 1960`s music shows at night. All of a sudden commercials started being added and they did away with the classic shows. Why? I have no idea.
And even when I recorded the episodes I have on my channel, which were originally recorded from 2000-'02, there were very limited interruptions (two for the hour), and the episode "Disney on Parade" had no commercials at all. The commercial breaks in the episodes on my channel were edited out through a VCR-to-VCR recording that was done years before I put them on DVD to upload here on TH-cam. As for why these classics were removed, I think that had to do with a rebranding of the Disney Channel and it's offshoot (Toon Disney at that time), because the logo went away at the same time (the beginning of the 2002-'03 TV season). But I totally agree that the classics should have a place. And not just the Disney classics because the same thing has happened to classics from the other major companies, like Cartoon Network and Boomerang with the WB library, and even sports classics are not shown that much any more, especially since ESPN Classic went to more modern programming about 10-15 years ago, and has recently been followed by the MLB and NFL Networks, NBATV, and NHLTV, and there's no channel that airs that much classic golf or auto racing any more.
I remember pre playhouse Disney (or Disney jr now?) they always played classic Disney cartoons in the morning as well. Not the same as this I know but still disappointing.
Sadly Disneyland will never be the same again. I had the pleasure of being a child of the 1970s and growing up in OC my family went to Disneyland quite often and my Dad was part of the McDonnell Douglass Mission To Mars attraction creation in the early 1970s. Fast forward to mid 80s and not only did I have annual pass and loved Videopolis dance club and partying with friends but I had the pleasure of being part time ragtime pianist at Coke Corner Main Street and did top 40 music of the time in Tomorrowland. Sadly early 90s California Adventure was in my opinion a terrible move (putting a CA theme park in CA LOL) and thus Disneyland had no more space to really expand. Sadly they started tearing down all the charm and history and started adding non Disney. So sad that Videopolis, Tahitian Palace, Jazz at Carnation Plaza, America Sings, and many other charming attractions are gone and we are left with Star Wars blow up the galaxy crap (which is redundant as there is already Tomorrowland) and it was placed near Frontierland and New Orlean's so imposes on the aesthetic, We also have Marvel Comics, Indian Jones etc. Getting further and further away from Disney. And we are now left ridiculous pricing for mediocrity I remember the days of 125 dollar annuals with no black out dates, complimentary vip parking and 20% off all merchandise. I remember the days when Blue Bayou in Pirate's actually had Creole cooks and changed their menu regularly instead of the jacked up crap of chicken pasta like one would get at Olive Garden for whopping $35 bucks. Disney is far behind the times when it comes to vegan, gluten free and healthy food options as compared to Knott's (where I also had the pleasure of performing) True story: It cost MORE money for my sis to take her family of 5 to Disneyland for one day then it cost to FLY her family to Las Vegas for the weekend. It is so greedy corporate. Another tragic things : I was fortunate as a teen to have a safe, fun place to party with my friends. Even poorer kids from inner city could afford a 40 dollar summer pass. Now families and kids can't afford (I mean the regulars) . Over 1000 for annual with all kinds of ridiculous drama and problems like having to download app and reserve restaurant before 10 am or you can't eat in a restaurant? Bullshit. Now you couldn't pay me to go to Disneyland. On the other hand Knott's annuals are only about $350 with parking and other benefits, and they have tons of vegan and healthier options and great fests like Boysenberry fest and of course Knott's Scary.. with Elvira this year. Disneyland in the 80s by the way was also free free an open for LGBT community. I actually met my first husband at Disneyland and there was a feeling of inclusion. And though Disney says they are LGBT .. there has been harassment and closeted crap. I"m an acting coach artist developer and know of LGBT discrimination and racism that still goes on. This is why I love seeing the nostalgia videos from 50s on . I was recently at the Little House on the Prairie reunion as I have worked with some of the actors and was delighted to hear that Charlotte Stewart who played Miss Beadle was the first ALICE at Disneyland in 55. My mascot it the Cheshire Cat so I have tons of rare Disney memorabilia. I remember seeing The Osmonds perform as a kid, as well as The Carpenters at Disneyland .. The 80s were magical. My grad night were filmed in 86 and I met Boy George, Adam Ant and got to hang out backstage. I used to play the mix ins and met Michael Jackson sat about 4 rows behind him at premiere of Captain E0. So luckily have beyond fabulous memories of Disneyland from 70s to about 92. I recently went to Disneyland after not going in nearly 10 years and despised most of it. Nearly 200 dollars to get in, food prices nearly doubled and was mediocre .. really hard to find vegan items and not culture (I miss educated shows!) No Horseshoe revue, no Tahitian Terrace show, No jazz at Carnation, No Videopolis dancing, no top 40 bands. The ragtime pianist that was there was so mediocre compared to the days of Rod Miller, just felt like everything lost its magic. We did eat at Blue Bayou and it the food was crap from what I remember. Dinner for 2 was nearly 100 dollars and it was equivalent of chain restaurant. So tacky. I despised the whole Star Wars area, and then they took out Splash Mountain a FLUME ride to Princess and Frog. Wonder they know there are no flumes in the Bayou LOL. Just stupidity. They already tore up American Sings and put those in Splash Mountain now tearing up history yet again. Though I like the Craftsman California style at Cal Adventure Hotel. I also ate there another day and food was so overpriced and only mediocre. At least I can say I was part of Disneyland it some of it's hey day before the modernization mediocrity. As a teacher all the local teens/college students I talk with greatly prefer Knott's. and Knott's Scary is of course the biggest Halloween celebration on the planet. And though I love Nightmare Before Xmas. Disney's Halloween is blah in comparison.

Paolo Beltran. Some idiot thought it would be a good idea to turn it into a fast ride to zip around Tomorrowland. Incredibly stupid idea. Curves were not banked and support structure was not made to handle stress of cars speeding up and slowing down for turns. Believe it closed after about a year and damage to supports kept them from reopening it in original form.

When secrets stories and magic came out i had no clue years ago and RUSHED to buy it, one copy only in store, the near perfect ticket book from the 50's -1959 is the most coolest collectible to ever come in s disney box set, CDs etc. Ok try me now, give me your best trivia question?
This is the Disneyland of my youth. It's not all about film franchises and merchandise. It's about immersion and imagination. The MBAs have killed the dream in preference for "shareholder value" shortsighted quarterly numbers.
And after my hostile takeover of Disney I will usher in the Make Disney Great Again era where everything is done based on immersion and imagination again by asking one question: "What would Walt do?" I won't even allow MBAs to work for Disney.
What collection? The old Classic Disney DVD Collection of about a decade ago? No, I didn't use that for my classic Disney uploads. I simply got most of the episodes off VHS tapes I had created by recording the TV airings from the Disney Channel. Only a couple of uploads were taken from other sources, in which cases, I gave credit to the original uploaders. And there are about seven other episodes I had uploaded that became blocked, so I took them down.

I believe that ESPN Classic should get back to airing the programming for which the original Classic Sports Network was created for.
And Boomerang also seems to be showing fewer and fewer of the classics for which that particular network was launched by Cartoon Network in 2000. One thing Hasbro did when they bought into the Discovery Channel about five years ago to create the Hub, which is now Discovery Family, was to bring back the Sunbow/Marvel classics from the 80s, such as G.I. Joe and the original Transformers series (with the original commercial bumpers). They even brought back the 60s Batman TV series for a couple of years, though six of the 120 episodes were never aired.
I think some of the major franchises that don't have channels dedicated to classic programming should create at least one channel to air such programming, which contains some of the most popular and unforgettable programming ever aired. Some major franchises have such outlets, but others don't.

Or better yet, see Disneyland as it was back then. When I was last there in 2004, I made it a point to visit the older attractions, such as the Pirates (which was still the same as the original ride) and it's a Small World. But I didn't get to New Orleans Square (except for the Pirate ride) nor Tomorrowland, though I did go on the Mark Twain boat ride. We had a 3-hour delay in the latter portion of the trip, which cost us an opportunity to see more of Disneyland. We also had chances to go in the Abraham Lincoln attraction and I regret not doing so. And Sleeping Beauty's castle was closed, as they were beginning the preparations for the Golden Anniversary celebrations at the time we went there in September of 2004.
There were seven of us, and four of those that went on that trip were in line at Splash Mountain when something went wrong with the ride and they got stuck there in line there for more than two hours, while the rest of us were searching for them (and I had popcorn and still have the container to this day), taking the Disneyland train three times, because we didn't know what had happened to the rest of our party. We had planned to visit more of Tomorrowland (we did hit the Star Tours ride), but couldn't because of that unseemly 3-hour hold. And since we lived in the San Diego area, it was a 2 hour plus trip each way up and down I-5 (we left for Disneyland at about 5:30 AM that morning and left Disneyland at about 9 PM that night), plus a hefty walk just to get to and from our vehicle.
Considering how they're people who go into Disneyland wearing their pajamas, I would wish to do so too.

The Pirates opening was excellent, what a perfect way to open the attraction. Truly so immersive. Disney never failed then, and it maintains that quality today.
We were guests of my father's VIP Press entrance pass that day. When we were in line, a representative from Disney asked my parents if I would ride the ride with the lady beside me. She was an actress hired by Disney. I was scared to go alone with a stranger, but my parents said yes and before you know it, I'm on the ride of my life.

Disneyland's greatest year would have to be 1969, in my opinion. The Haunted Mansion just opened that summer, Pirates of the Caribbean was just two years old. At that time, these attractions were so revolutionary, so ground breaking. Almost fifty years later, they're STILL two of the most popular attractions in the entire park. It's been said that the Disneyland version of Pirates of the Caribbean (almost twice as long as Disney World's version) would never be built today.
In 1969 the 1967 "New Tomorrowland" was still VERY new with several brand new attractions. Plus, "It's a Small World" was added in 1966. Today, you'd have to go back twenty years (to 1995) and the opening of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom to find anything similar that Disneyland use to open almost every year.
In 1969, there were no height limits to any ride at Disneyland. Little kids, teenagers, adults, even senior citizens could all ride the same attractions together.
In 1969 Disneyland was IT - Disney World wouldn't open for two more years. There was nothing compare it to.
Today, there are Disney Parks in Florida, Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong and (later this year) Shanghai. Sadly, thanks to almost ONE MILLION (!) annual pass holders, Disneyland today is very crowded - ALL THE TIME. And those who only want to go once a year (or less) - the gate admission is over $100.
DL's Pirates is not twice as long.

I agree with some of that but not that Pirates would never have been made today. Sure, the fact that it had the structure there definitely helped when they redid it for the movie, but there are plenty of new large scale attractions at DL like Rise of the Resistance that have a higher production value than Pirates

Wonderful program. I can only imagine how exciting it must have been to be at the park in those days, with all the incredible new attractions and things to see. The sight of Tomorrowland with the Peoplemover and Monorail going above, Autopia and the subs below, the rocket ride spinning--so exciting! Everything's on the move! The future is bright! While there are still fun attractions in Tomorrowland, it seems more bland and sedate today. That was a special time in Disney history.

I am genuinely shocked that Disney+ hasn't put more classic Walt Disney Presents episodes like this on their service. Becky Cline, the head of the Disney Archives, promised that plenty of episodes would be uploaded onto there.
BTW, this was released two years after Walt died, which explains why Walt didn't introduce the program at the beginning.
Frankly, I'm not that surprised more classic Disney episodes haven't ended up on Disney+, because most of these entities don't really care all that much about classic programming. That's a big reason why networks like Boomerang (Cartoon Network's old spin-off channel for classic programming), ESPN Classic, and other networks like that either no longer exist or no longer air classic programming the way they once did.

+James Klatt The biggest problem with Disneyland during that period was getting there, because that was prior to the reconstruction of I-5 in Anaheim, meaning they had the original three lane-per side alignment, and traffic was awful on both I-5, as well as 22 and 91 was getting to I-5. It's a lot better now since I-5 was reconstructed in the late 90s in Anaheim.

Dad was stationed at Edwards AFB and mom and Dad took us 5 kids to Disneyland in 1968. This very year. I was 8 years old then. Yeah, go ahead, do the math. I'm a old man now
Anyways, we weren't rich, by any means. With 5 kids on an NCO's salary, mom being a stay-at-home mother, well, yup Disneyland was a huge deal. We were each given a Ticket book, and that was it. Mom and dad made sure that we went on certain rides, like It's a Small World, Pirates of the Caribbean, Disneyland Railroad, Autopia and Carousel of Progress. Circle Rama was free, and dad being an aerial photographer for the Air Force wanted the whole family to see what the new technology in photography is up to.
For me, I chose to also ride the Skyride, and I'm glad that I did. I thought it was a great ride. I felt forced to ride Small World, and still do when my wife makes me. But oh well.
We brought our own lunch so we kept it on a cooler near the front of the park and ate it there.
The end of the day was near dusk. Is kids wanted to see the lights but I guess mom and dad were exhausted so off to Edwards AFB it was.
Since then we've been back to Disneyland many times over. We even had an AYPb and one time for our 5 kids. They loved it. Over that year we went 13 weekends and we live in Utah. Can't beat that.
2017 marks the 50th Birthday of THE PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN RIDE and it was Walt Disney's final project that was dedicated to him after his death in 1966.

With 6 kids in our family, W.D.W.W.O.C. was as close as we got to "Disleyland" (my little sister's pronunciation) for years, even though we lived in San Diego; those E tickets were pricey. Additionally, my mom got sucked into the Jehovah's Witlesses at some point and we got dragged along in her wake. This meant that on Sunday evening when we were just getting seated in a steamy Kingdom Hall, faces flushed and sweating from neckties and humidity to listen to the sermon drone on for 90 minutes, my dad sat home and watched the show. If my mom didn't stay too long after the torture session to gossip about who was engaging in pagan behavior, we would get home in time to catch the last 10 minutes of the One True Magic Kingdom. That's how I learned that God is mean to kids.✟ 𓁏

Well, as it says in the info box, I've had the complete episode since I recorded it in about 2000 or 2001 on the Disney Chanel's Vault Disney block they had then. In fact, every Classic Disney upload you see on my channel came from those original VCR recordings, unless otherwise noted in the info box. and that includes virtually the entire "World's Fair Era", from 1964-1970. And by the way, the part you see in this episode with Walt Disney talking about the Pirates of Caribbean ride can be seen in it's entirety in the episode "Disneyland's 10th Anniversary" (from 1965), which is also currently on my channel.

Every time I see a show like this my blood boils at how Paul Pressler and his gang of idiots destroyed Tomorrowland. They should have given Tony Baxter and his crew free reign to create.
Part of this episode, the sequence with Pirates, was included as a bonus on the DVD release of the first Pirates movie. Any and all references to Tomorrowland (and the nighttime entertainment) were cut.
Starting at 27:06 observant viewers can see what was the back side of the Space Station x-1 pavillion in the early 1960s. The next shot shows the 1963-1966 exterior of the Flight to the Moon. There was someone who took off in a jet pack, but it is obvious the Disney Company used older footage to put this episode together.
At first i could've sworn that Marcie the tour guide was Mrs Ingalls! But, regardless, she sure was purty! Gawrsh!

But they've probably recreated those works of art, knowing that time would probably dilute, if not destroy the originals, and by recreating those works of art every so often, they always have copies with which to update the current attractions that use these pieces, as well as to create new attractions with the timeless works they originally created more than half a century ago.

Most people have that thought, because that was when Disney was Disney. But it's equally hard to believe that Vault Disney was taken off the Disney Channel nearly 12 years ago, which may be one reason I don't have quite as many of the really good animation episodes and Disneyland episodes as I would have liked to have. I only began watching and recording the episodes in 2000, so I only had about two years to get as many as possible, and I got about 25 good episodes and specials, as a result.

And I'm not the only one who has this kind of stuff on their channel. Disneytv4Me has other episodes up that I don't have. I only wish about seven or eight others weren't blocked, because they'd be up (all but one were at one point).

Today, March 8, 2019 could be my last visit to Disneyland in the daytime for awhile. My Disneyland Card, which has options on how often you can visit without making a payment for admission, will not apply on the card on Fridays until November. I will miss going there. My first Disneyland visit was back in 1968, the year I moved to California!

The TRUE story goes that Disney were afraid they couldn’t make realistic skeletons for the ride so they used ALL donated parts from a hospital. So think about that when you watch these scenes again

Originally the Disney Channel aired shows like this along with their classic movies and even 1960`s music shows at night. All of a sudden commercials started being added and they did away with the classic shows. Why? I have no idea.
And even when I recorded the episodes I have on my channel, which were originally recorded from 2000-'02, there were very limited interruptions (two for the hour), and the episode "Disney on Parade" had no commercials at all. The commercial breaks in the episodes on my channel were edited out through a VCR-to-VCR recording that was done years before I put them on DVD to upload here on TH-cam.
As for why these classics were removed, I think that had to do with a rebranding of the Disney Channel and it's offshoot (Toon Disney at that time), because the logo went away at the same time (the beginning of the 2002-'03 TV season). But I totally agree that the classics should have a place. And not just the Disney classics because the same thing has happened to classics from the other major companies, like Cartoon Network and Boomerang with the WB library, and even sports classics are not shown that much any more, especially since ESPN Classic went to more modern programming about 10-15 years ago, and has recently been followed by the MLB and NFL Networks, NBATV, and NHLTV, and there's no channel that airs that much classic golf or auto racing any more.
I remember pre playhouse Disney (or Disney jr now?) they always played classic Disney cartoons in the morning as well. Not the same as this I know but still disappointing.
Sadly Disneyland will never be the same again. I had the pleasure of being a child of the 1970s and growing up in OC my family went to Disneyland quite often and my Dad was part of the McDonnell Douglass Mission To Mars attraction creation in the early 1970s. Fast forward to mid 80s and not only did I have annual pass and loved Videopolis dance club and partying with friends but I had the pleasure of being part time ragtime pianist at Coke Corner Main Street and did top 40 music of the time in Tomorrowland. Sadly early 90s California Adventure was in my opinion a terrible move (putting a CA theme park in CA LOL) and thus Disneyland had no more space to really expand. Sadly they started tearing down all the charm and history and started adding non Disney. So sad that Videopolis, Tahitian Palace, Jazz at Carnation Plaza, America Sings, and many other charming attractions are gone and we are left with Star Wars blow up the galaxy crap (which is redundant as there is already Tomorrowland) and it was placed near Frontierland and New Orlean's so imposes on the aesthetic, We also have Marvel Comics, Indian Jones etc. Getting further and further away from Disney. And we are now left ridiculous pricing for mediocrity I remember the days of 125 dollar annuals with no black out dates, complimentary vip parking and 20% off all merchandise. I remember the days when Blue Bayou in Pirate's actually had Creole cooks and changed their menu regularly instead of the jacked up crap of chicken pasta like one would get at Olive Garden for whopping $35 bucks. Disney is far behind the times when it comes to vegan, gluten free and healthy food options as compared to Knott's (where I also had the pleasure of performing) True story: It cost MORE money for my sis to take her family of 5 to Disneyland for one day then it cost to FLY her family to Las Vegas for the weekend. It is so greedy corporate. Another tragic things : I was fortunate as a teen to have a safe, fun place to party with my friends. Even poorer kids from inner city could afford a 40 dollar summer pass. Now families and kids can't afford (I mean the regulars) . Over 1000 for annual with all kinds of ridiculous drama and problems like having to download app and reserve restaurant before 10 am or you can't eat in a restaurant? Bullshit. Now you couldn't pay me to go to Disneyland. On the other hand Knott's annuals are only about $350 with parking and other benefits, and they have tons of vegan and healthier options and great fests like Boysenberry fest and of course Knott's Scary.. with Elvira this year. Disneyland in the 80s by the way was also free free an open for LGBT community. I actually met my first husband at Disneyland and there was a feeling of inclusion. And though Disney says they are LGBT .. there has been harassment and closeted crap. I"m an acting coach artist developer and know of LGBT discrimination and racism that still goes on. This is why I love seeing the nostalgia videos from 50s on . I was recently at the Little House on the Prairie reunion as I have worked with some of the actors and was delighted to hear that Charlotte Stewart who played Miss Beadle was the first ALICE at Disneyland in 55. My mascot it the Cheshire Cat so I have tons of rare Disney memorabilia. I remember seeing The Osmonds perform as a kid, as well as The Carpenters at Disneyland .. The 80s were magical. My grad night were filmed in 86 and I met Boy George, Adam Ant and got to hang out backstage. I used to play the mix ins and met Michael Jackson sat about 4 rows behind him at premiere of Captain E0. So luckily have beyond fabulous memories of Disneyland from 70s to about 92. I recently went to Disneyland after not going in nearly 10 years and despised most of it. Nearly 200 dollars to get in, food prices nearly doubled and was mediocre .. really hard to find vegan items and not culture (I miss educated shows!) No Horseshoe revue, no Tahitian Terrace show, No jazz at Carnation, No Videopolis dancing, no top 40 bands. The ragtime pianist that was there was so mediocre compared to the days of Rod Miller, just felt like everything lost its magic. We did eat at Blue Bayou and it the food was crap from what I remember. Dinner for 2 was nearly 100 dollars and it was equivalent of chain restaurant. So tacky. I despised the whole Star Wars area, and then they took out Splash Mountain a FLUME ride to Princess and Frog. Wonder they know there are no flumes in the Bayou LOL. Just stupidity. They already tore up American Sings and put those in Splash Mountain now tearing up history yet again. Though I like the Craftsman California style at Cal Adventure Hotel. I also ate there another day and food was so overpriced and only mediocre. At least I can say I was part of Disneyland it some of it's hey day before the modernization mediocrity. As a teacher all the local teens/college students I talk with greatly prefer Knott's. and Knott's Scary is of course the biggest Halloween celebration on the planet. And though I love Nightmare Before Xmas. Disney's Halloween is blah in comparison.

Paolo Beltran. Some idiot thought it would be a good idea to turn it into a fast ride to zip around Tomorrowland. Incredibly stupid idea. Curves were not banked and support structure was not made to handle stress of cars speeding up and slowing down for turns. Believe it closed after about a year and damage to supports kept them from reopening it in original form.

What collection? The old Classic Disney DVD Collection of about a decade ago? No, I didn't use that for my classic Disney uploads. I simply got most of the episodes off VHS tapes I had created by recording the TV airings from the Disney Channel. Only a couple of uploads were taken from other sources, in which cases, I gave credit to the original uploaders. And there are about seven other episodes I had uploaded that became blocked, so I took them down.
