  • Tim Keller sermons via Gospel in Life: In the Bible there’s a view of work that’s revolutionary. It’s so revolutionary that Dorothy Sayers writes that society as a whole, and individuals in particular, are dying for the lack of it-that individuals are hurting because we don’t have it.
    Unless you understand the biblical doctrine of work, you will never find rest. That’s the irony. You see, there’s a kind of work that arises from rest, and on the other hand, there’s a kind of restless work. It’s one or the other.
    The biblical doctrine of work has 1) two practical guidelines and 2) two motivational principles.
    Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 4:9-12

    1. Choose work that benefits others, contributing to the common good.
    2. Find work that aligns with your gifts, passions, and abilities, providing a sense of fulfillment and peace.

    There are those of us who are in terrible and dangerous work situations with schedules that make any sort of sabbath possible. Underpaid and overworked. God sees our suffering. Pray for us.

    I’m always here, I always come back to Pastor Tim’s sermons. And yes, I’m back here again because I miss Pastor Keller so, so much…even when he retired, I missed his messages and his theological thoughts and panel discussions. ♥️

    One thing I truly love about Tim, is he gives us insights to such great authors and books. Too many people ignore the great liturature that teaches us truths about ourselves. He uses it to bring us closer to God.

    Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith.

    1. Principles:
    A. Do work that makes you useful to other people & not primarily for money, or status;
    B. Do work that fits your insides (ie aligned to your passions, talents, abilities, desires). Is there thrill?
    2. Guidelines: Work for God’s sake & in His rest.

    I just love pastor Tim Keller’s teachings. It’s right to the point and with wisdom. His wife is blessed having him as her good husband. All beautiful husband and wife relationship is like Jesus Christ and His Church. I do have a good husband myself. I understand him…
