I used to go see Steve perform in various places in the Dallas/Fort Worth area from 1969 on thru into the 80's. He put on quite a show! He used to say, "some people come to hear me play guitar and some just come to watch me drink!" And he put away a few shots of this and that along with a few beers. Great entertainment every time he was on stage.
I used to see Fromholz play in Austin in the late 70s and 80s. Captivating performer. When the crowd got a little rowdy he used to say “Quieten down, now. I don’t come to where you work and bitch at you!” Compelling argument! 😊
Wow. Was there in Colorado when this song from Steve first showed up. Jim Siegerwalt used to sing it in a small frontier cabin out in Elbert Colorado. What a memory. Saw Steve and Dan a few Times. Those were the years. Thanks for putting this on. Tom Campbell used to sing Darcy Farrell for us out there. Then there was Gold Hill.
This was the song my dad used to sing when I couldn't sleep. I grew up hearing all of his songs.

This was one of my favorite bands and songs back in the 70's. Very nostalgic when I hear it and it's still and awesome song!!!!
