Absolutely PHENOMENONAL!!!! Lifelong NYC resident. I was 3 when this came out and thus is the NYC I remember when I was a kid. BEYOND EXCELLENT WORK!!!
11:17 That was my street in the 60s-early 70s, Riverside Drive in Hamilton Heights Manhattan! There was a shot of my building in the film between during the chase scene 139th and 140th, a 24-floor brick building called, The Riverview Towers (built in the 60s).
Just watched this movie on TH-cam. Many years since first time. Incredible effort putting this together. Really interesting on how run down alot of the locations were compared with today. Some hardly any change which is always nice when looking back.
Top job ! 👏
Wow, excellent research and editing work here, very interesting to see what is (more or less) still there, what has become better over the years, what has been destroyed, what has survived as if nothing happened in these past decades. Loved that intenste movie a lot, not as well known as Bullit or French Connection, but definetely of the same quality level, be it with a different approach in a different setting. Hats off from Belgium for the makers of the movie, the filming locations update and the uploader !
7:28 -- That's me (at age 20) on the left side near the fence with the camera crew. The crew let me tag along for two whole days. I love it how they kept this shot in the film, well of course the action is passing by really fast. The next shot here is one of the ones that were filmed from this vantage point.
Awesome! I never knew that was the camera crew there. Did they have any sort of lockdown on the street?
Ah ha, nice!
Such an underrated film with my favorite Roy Scheider!
Well I feel that they thought with the French connection and it's car chase sceneost look at this film as a French connection rip off which I loved both and have both on DVD s ❤❤❤❤
Definitely , very good movie .
Manhattan and NYC doesn't look like this much anymore-it was gritty and tough in those days!
Amazing research. As a native NYer I loved this movie for its location shots. I suddenly have a yearning for a chock-full-o-nuts 55¢ tuna sandwich
Thanks for the experience bro!!! 😎👍
Amazing!- makes me want to watch this movie again on 2 screens, just to pause and check the 'Then' and 'Now' locations!
Excellent matching work 👏
Very nice job, my man. Bravo.
One of my old time favorites every time it came on had to watch it. Love that Nova….
THANK GOD I HAVE THIS EPIC FILM ON DVD..💯💯💯🙏🙏💜💜💜💜💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Brilliant work!! Thank you for this magnificent upload!
Well Done. Amazing changes, but good to see that one bicycle shop survived (7:13)!
Awesome job. Been looking for some of these locations for a while.
Fantastic. I absolutely love the movie and grew up in New York. I always wanted to do exactly what you did.
Great movie! I was trying to find Max's home, and I found it. Thank you!
now that is detailed work! very impressive!
Thank you so much. This is so great. I grew up in NY City and I know change must happen but I loved NY back then .
Yeah, it’s great! I love this kind of thing, seeing how much or little a place has changed! I often look at building windows to identify an area and see if it’s the same spot. Thanks for all this work!,
Fantastic!
A true labor of love
Insane amount of work.. Best I’ve seen
7:13 I love the fact that there’s a bicycle shop in that same building 50 years later
Good catch. I am always happy when a biz survives in the same location... especially in NYC.
Excellent work! The rare 1970s film where many of the locations are still in tact. The one missing location is the police precinct The Seven Ups operate out of. An unconfirmed source told me it was filmed at the 94 Precinct in Greenpoint Brooklyn. That building is also unchanged, but we need confirmation that it is the actual location.
Thanks! Yeah I didn't include the precinct house because I couldn't find any definitive proof on its location. Would be nice to find some at some point.
Great work, thanks for the 50th anniversary present!
very well done
Excellent, incredible piece of work
Crazy! Wow, just wow! Abslutely fantastic, who made this video.
Some of these location haven't changed and some are unrecognizable greatj job done here❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
just watched this flick ! love the scouting
Love these!
It's cool as hell so much looks the same. I always loved how heavy and gritty the movie was. The car chase was just the cherry on the sundae.
Impressive work.
Nice quality too.
Great job with this!
Magnificent job
This was Absolutely awesome. Thanks. Just subscribed 🎉
Great work and research!
Great work!
Rest in peace to some of the main cast of actors and production who help make this film possible ❤❤❤❤
Super interesting. Seen the movie several times, have to go watch it again now.
Best car chase, period
Excellent job!!!!
Excellent contribution. In addition to the evident, what I most like is your music selection and the 70s cars (as an European, they were “different”).
That is AMAZING WORK
Some scenes today had leaves and green grass which makes things look so much nicer.
I commend you for such an excellent video.
Underrated movie love RS
Absolutely outstanding
A+ on the music!
A lot more signs in the modern world. I wonder if we're being controlled more!? That aside, as a lifeong Seven Ups and Roy Scheider fan, I really appreciate your appreciation of the movie. Yes, I saw it. I saw my first Bond movie, Live and Let Die, in the summer of the year this movie came out, and for a 12-year-old, car chase movies became irresistable! Had to see this one. And Roy was much more personable for a kid than a lot of the mains in other action movies such as Gene Hackman and Steve McQueen. In this video, it is amazing to see what is still there and what has changed, but glad to see some of those trees are still there and more filled out!
4:33 Check out how that sapling grew into a large tree in 50 years.
6:49 All the young trees are now covering the streets.
Roy Scheider was a good actor Saw this movie way Back 1973 Great Movie Great job
Thank you
Nicely done
Excellent!
Damn! Strong work!!!
9:29 I suspect the Civil Jail building had been recently closed at the time, so it was a ready-made filming location both inside and out. The Seven-Ups squad room and the holding cell where they pressure Joe Spinnel to talk may likely have been inside that address. 9:53 at the time of filming, the few unimproved blocks of Erskine place where the action takes place was still called Bassett Avenue 10:30 indicated by the street sign visible behind Richard Lynch.
R.I.P. Tony LoBianco 🇮🇹🇺🇸♥️
I love when they film in old New York .😏
more more :-)
Bulitt Ford Mustang vs. Seven Ups Pontiac Ventura.
I'll vote for the Ventura.
BRAVO!!!!!!
Got to watch some of the car chase in NYC in person
7:25 You can see ONE of the film crews standing on the sidewalk, with the camera, just behind a white Ford wagon and in front of a mass of cranes. 7:30 The afore mentioned Ford Wagon passes in front of that other camera, and in the park up the hill in the distance is the location of the other camera, that just shot the previous scene.
great job my friend, i was 18 years old when they pass thrue 96 st Between Columbus and Amsterdam i used to live in the 2nd floor and i witness the car chase from my apartment window in 1973 it was real man great movie ?

Yes I work across the street at Saint Barnabas hospital …
Great movie! I
As good a car chase as the French Connection---luv Freidkin
My freind Barry Weitz was the Exec Producer on this film.
Bravo! I see my house at 3:31
Another classic bill hickman wild ride through town chase
I liked the way NYC in the past better
And the great Joe Spinnel! Willie Cheechi!
Both Godfather's first Rocky, this..... and Taxi Driver. Made his mark for sure. Excellent reference
