"Escape" one of the very best radio programs of late 40's and 50's. Stories well scripted from classic literature. Paul Frees one of the great radio voices. Actually one of the greatest voices which include Welles Basehart, Peck, Conrad, etc. When actors had voices equal to their screen presences. Now they all look alike and sound alike. The great egalitarianism of the arts.

Awesome post man!! Blackwood's great, and a fine narration! I'd also have to recommend Wayne June's Lovecraft reads. But this is great too. Thanks!!!

In fact, Welsh, Scottish and Irish kept the Celtic Polytheism much more than the natives of Continental Europe since they never were conquered by the Romans. Therefore, when the Christianism became the official religion in Roman and Byzantine Empire had not been imposed to them.
Under this viewpoint, one can interpret the fact that although King Arthur was a Christian his sister Morgana and his mentor Merlin were Druids.

Interesting. Although the original story takes place in France. Don't know why they decided to change the location.

@@elliemccarthy3487 There is another novel by Oscar Wilde named "The fisherman and his soul" where a Witches’ Sabbath is described. Unfortunately, I have not found it translated in Greek. I think the fisherman fell in love with a mermaid and wanted to make a pact with Satan in order for him to be able to belong completely to the element of water just like the mermaid, or the mermaid to become human so that they can get married.
Indeed, a very interesting novel. Greetings from Greece!!

This is an excellent description for the religion of the native peoples of continental Europe.

I'm not sure if Bing's ChatGPT-powered "copilot" gets any credit for me finding this episode again; my initial attempt at searching by the details I remembered failed so spectacularly, that in trying to type up a more thorough description, I ended up remembering the title.

Perfect timing for the finding, per the intro that is. I would've titled it something else... Unless it's part of a series. Not bad regardless.
