I've always wondered how mana cost reduction works for X spells. From what I gathered, if I were to play a stonecoil for X=2 but had a card that made it 1 less to cast, I could actually play it for X=3? I think you explained it in the video I'm just a bit confused still I think.
When casting a spell, the total cost has to be figured out followed by cost modifications. So for example, you can set stonecoil at X=3, then cost reductions kick in making you only pay 2 for it.
LVD must be the chilliest person ever, not scooping against Solemnity. Anyway I think Gemrazrer would be a fine addition to a +1/+1 counter deck, enchantment/artifact removal, gets to keep the counters and also get trample and reach
Playing green creatures without Gemrazer is usually a bad idea. I love putting counters on creatures but you always need some cards that can interact with the opponent
@@wapjs6781 I loved Knight of Autumn in Ravnica standart but mutating a Gemrazer onto a stonecoil snake is usually the better play than playing a 2/1 knight
I like loxodons like any other guy, but this deck and Hamza in general both like recurring draw effects in order to benefit from being able to cast lots of creatures for cheap without ending up empty handed too easily. I think simply making room for 2-3 Beast Whisperers by shaving maybe 1 Conjurant, 1 Venerated Loxodon and 1 Scourge could help a lot in keeping the hand flowing for when you do run into sweepers without slowing the game plan too much in the other matchups.
@@JohnDoe-zx1ck Matchmaking is rigged. Playing mono-red? You're only going to play against the mirror and turn two ugins/komas. Playing any kind of midrange? Hope you got answers for the temur/sultai ultimatum decks and/or mono-green.
Hydroid really wants more ramp. It would only be good once Hamza is in play which is what we want to avoid. Historic games are over so quickly that card advantage matters a lot less.
I'm glad you piloted such a deck becuause, when it comes down to Selesnya creature decks, there are Loxodos and Loxodont's.

That mono white hard counter deck had me laughing. It's almost hard to imagine a worse match up for this deck. Virtual auto loss.

Curious why you didn't run great henge, it would really help mitigate the dmg sweepers will inflict, and also gives you counters fitting the theme.
They can often wipe the board before we can cast it and it would mean losing Ziggurat and Umori.
