What if you sit at loading dock for like half 45 minutes while on duty? It won’t count as your break? I thought the rule was as long as you’re not driving for 30 minutes, it would count as a break.
I was wondering if it automatically readjusts your available drive time if you sit more than 30 minutes. I haven’t used PeopleNet since 2019. At that time, I had to manually tap “rest break” for my drive time to readjust.
@@riosautotransportllc Well I was doing on duty while on break on my paper log I never had a cop give me a ticket I been pulled over a couple of times here in canada when I go off duty i go off duty till the next day.
Excellent video. I use to operate for Department of Defense so I never had experience of logging because Govt vehicles were not subject to logs. But I had a question for car hauling do you need to keep a log book even driving local or monitoring drive hours? Thanks
Thank you. Prior to starting business I went to my local CHP, I was given a very simple form to be used when driving over 100 Air-miles. It’s very simple time in, time out, total hours and log book yes or no. I use it daily, it’s common to add loads when I’m already out. Of course a log book is required for longer distances.
One question mate, once the ELD is done, does the delivery area will automatically go to your gps or you will manually search it up from the designated delivery depot? I'm planning to switch to truck driving once i have enough money earned from my previous job. Thanks once replied!
Sorry to bother you again, I have one more question. So you put your own shipment number or is it given by the shipper via papers like they put for trailer number?
I buddy i have a question about in which moments use off duty i’m newbie doing amazon loads and my manager told me to use off duty everytime i’m waiting my load i thinks that’s not right cuz by the end of the week i’m doing more than 70 hours
Thanks for the cool video ! Do you know if there’s an option in peoplenet for the driver to force a change from 80 to 70 hr rule or is that option only available at stateline ? I’m in California but our peoplenet usually changes at stateline but heard it can be manually done too
Paper logs and an ELD!

Yes if you’re there for 30 minutes you can count it as your lunch, I do that often.

Is it off duty not driving during a break or on duty not driving?
Off duty not driving.

So what happens if somebody breaks into your truck? It smashes that little device thing. Can you still drive your truck
Yes, if the electric log book fails you always carry a paper log book.
I don't have the patience for that. I just want to get the loads there and keep the wheels moving. Dam d o t.
Thank you
You’re welcome
Does your half hour ass brake work if you go on duty not driving for a half hour is that like logging off duty for your half hour break?
No, you need to be off duty for 1/2 hour for break.
Is it required to fill out the log book when using Elog? of is it something you do as safe back up?
No i don’t use a logbook when doing elog but I do carry a log book just in case elog is down.

When I stop it does it automatically, it knows where I’m at.

If your waiting for load you’re still on duty, you should be on duty not driving. Basically if you’re getting paid you’re on duty.
helpful video! Does the computer block some gauges behind it?
Thank you! No behind the ELD is empty, it isn’t blocking anything.

I’m not sure but I’ll ask and get back to you.
Which ELD do you use in your hotshot ?
I stay local within 100 radius miles, I use a log sheet.
hey i would suggest you guys to use Motive KT eld
I’m old school I’d short that thing out so fast your head would spin and switch to paper logs
😂
How I can find this device sir and thank you
This is a trucking company device but you can find ELD’s on Amazon there’s also apps you can download on your phone.
Where can I get it.? How can I contact you.?🙏🏽
