1936 Chevy Pickup Spindle & King Pin

Just a how to basic install of king pins in spindles. They're not to difficult, but it does take some machining with the bushings to match the king pin. I took them to a machine shop to do the work.

I was very concerned about these spindles & axle not being too worn out, and as it turned out they were just about perfect.

Nice job good going. The Caster wedge helps to return the steering to return to center. Most 36 i found did not have them but it sure helps to make it more fun to drive.

Question , the machine shop honed the spindles to the size of the bushings or the size of the kingpin ? The kingpin is going to be a bit smaller then the bushings , right ?

You should give the new bushings and king pins to the machine shop and they will make sure everything fits properly. They check the hole diameter to see if you may need oversize bushings, but they fit the bushings and them hone or bore them to fit the spindles.

Ok. I'll ask my brother in law to check with his coworkers , where he works at. Its a big factory machine shop , where they build machines for Fritolay. I'm sure they'll have the equipment

Forgot to grease up the pin first,and using the wrong style hammer.
