Valentina, I used to be a home designing control freak wouldn’t even allow my 10 year old daughter to decorate or hang things she enjoyed on her wall. All of this changed when my husband died from cancer. This immediately changed my perspective on life and made me realize it’s the humans in our life that is important not all of the material things. If a flocked tree brings your husband joy let him have it. It’s only a few weeks if you looking at it. You don’t want any regrets when he is gone.
Valentina now I Agree with this Note to You... as My Dad was fabulous and also died from cancer when I was Nine, so Will Always Remembered Xmas with Him ...Last Year I Lost my middle son from cancer and this Year my Youngest is struggling pushing Himself so Hard to Stay With Us am so proud of Him... @Joan Arc Sorry that you feel that way Joan. The part that was messed up was "you will have regrets when he's gone." Does she know something that Jack doesn't? If Jack's biggest problem is not having a flocked Christmas tree, I would say his life is pretty great! He probably doesn't care about it as much as these commenters do.

I was like you're Valentina for many year's 👀 I now regret not allowing my family to put things they Enjoy in the space 🥺 especially for something like Christmas 🎄 I know aesthetics are important to u I get it, memories are something that are forever. I really think if not on any other holiday Christmas maybe allow your family especially your husband, to have some creative control ☺️ I'm telling you everything looking magazine ready screams discomfort! As a designer I understand completely how hard it can be, as a a wife & mother I know that it's not important to be that way during the holidays. I agree! I like all the greenery, but if there was another room for it, the flocked one is amazing and the black skirt would look great with it. Family room? I have 2 or 3 trees in my house😊.
I liked the flocked tree with the white lights and it would have still looked amazing with the greenery especially if you lit the Garland also. I think it looked like a light snowing on the tree, quite nicer than I originally thought.
I agree! Just add lights to the greenery and maybe some silver mercury glass trees or silver reindeer, for example.

First time I have seen a xmas makeover that I really like. Understated elegance that, while it clearly makes its presence and holiday flare known, it does not overwhelm the space, rather it layers into it. My type of decor. Thank you for this beautiful example of how to do xmas right, and Jack's key feeling for the season was so well spoken.

I do think the natural tree looks better there, but you could use the flocked tree in another room ( bedroom, dining room, etc) !

Honestly (and I’m definitely a green person) I think the mixed-media of the snowy flocked looks really beautiful with the greenery you chose! You are a master decorator and I think if done correctly (which you can TOTALLY do), this could be really beautiful! You could literally be creating a design that will be going crazy among viewers!! Interior designers and decorators entire jobs are to think outside of the box and I think if anyone can do it Valentina can!!! Especially with that GORGEOUS white twinkling!!

I actually liked the green with the flocked tree.
That flocked tree was absolutely magical you should have gone with it this year and just have bought some beautiful flocked branches to stick in the green garland on the mantle top which I think it needs anyways to contrast against that black wall and it would make it even fluffier, it's still a tad thin and the greenery is lost in front of that black wall , not enough contrast... it still looks great.

Tip: Instead of a tree skirt, use a soft blanket to swaddle the base of the tree. It looks more fuller than a flat skirt.
Agree! I've been using a fur blanket around the base of my tree for the past 7+years and it is beautiful...get many compliments
I use burlap that I just wrap loosely around the base. I don’t like skirts, they look a bit tacky to me.

Put the flocked tree in the all black family room or office, it will look beautiful in a room where it pops. You can still put the green one in the big room.

Your room decor does look beautiful as usual. I personally feel too, that the flocked tree worked really well with the greenery next to it. Afterall, greenery in white vases, white Christmas skirting under a green trees, etc. work. In addition, the green tree could go also go where you had it last yr. Or even try placing the flocked tree where you had the tree last year in addition to keeping the green tree where it is. The room is big enough, and I've seen people have up to three trees in their room without it looking cluttered or overwhelming. Important though to do what makes you happy.

I’ve had brown, champagne colored glass balls about 25 years ago. They never sold but I wasn’t all that bummed. Funny this year I’ve seen decorators on IG use them everywhere
You don't need to change all of the greenery. Simply add some beautiful flocked picks! That's what I do!

I bought brown and rust colored ornaments this year for our tree. Couldn't believe it when I saw your tree that you displayed the same pallette. Already had the silver and white. Love this, just like a tree in the woods should be like.
The flocked tree against the white wall doesn't really work, but the dark green against the black also doesn't stand out. I love how your classic modern take is coming out. So pretty! It reminds me of modern organic, my personal fav, for what it's worth. Thank you for sharing.

The mixture is FINE. The base for flocking is green! Put some “snow accent” pieces in mantle decor!! I’m not a “flicker” either, but prefer that one to the Balsam Hill one!! One vote for Jack and Landon! Need Haley snd Parker’s votes! No influencing voters, either!!😂😂😂♥️♥️

BACK TO GREEN ! The room is beautiful - well done! In Europe we usually decorate the tree about a week before Xmas at the most. The tree stays until the 13 day of Xmas (from the 24th of December until the 6th of January)

It’s nice to see somebody else struggle as much as I do with getting things right. My daughter had to come in yesterday and basically remove everything but the couches just so I could reset and start designing again. It helps so much to start with a blank canvas.
