i get it, and I guess I technically understand; but i am so glad I was active when era was still FD for FIRES, and EMS for EMS. now its like ya got ALS fire engine with more EMS equipment than an ambulance. in my 12 years, I may had done not even 3 or 4 ems runs. It's all about money, and being able to bump an engines annual runs from like 400, 500 to 1,800 lol. puts the govt and the town under the impression that a FIRE engine was needed 1800 times. (or whatever)
Big cities need polyvalent engines, it's just the way it is. Fire Depts have never been more efficient, especially around here in LA. I'm glad we have those
