I had to smile about wearing clothes forever. I realised I was often wearing the same top when I saw a photo when my oldest granddaughter was expecting and had it on in another photo when my great granddaughter was reaching her teens. The top will outlive me, it still looks like new after a zillion washes. 😊
This made me laugh! Back in the 1980's when shoulder pads were a thing, I bought the most comfortable track suit that had some removable shoulder pads. I LOVED that track suit! When we were looking back at family photos, I noticed that I was wearing it at family Christmas events 2 years in a row and at 1 Thanksgiving dinner. Busted!!! It held its colors so well and looked great in all the photos, plus it was so comfy. It takes a lot for me to throw away comfy clothing OR pj's.
I homeschooled 3 out of 4 girls all the way also. In the beginning we only had the kitchen table in Army housing. It wasn’t much. They never did like desks although we had one for the computer. One daughter always used the kitchen table. Another her bed. And another used a tree for reading at times. They were all different! The one item we always sacrificed for was quality books. It was my addiction! I still love my books but have lessened my bookshelves since the girls left home.
The silver “ring holder” is an Ash Tray. Omg from at least from the 50’s....my parents and Aunt had one, great shape your find was. Nostalgia for me. Thanks for filming the bins.

I just find reselling, thrifting, packaging, and what sold videos fascinating. :) I either sit back and relax while I watch these types of videos OR I am crafting OR writing out what I call "Happy Mail" to mail to friends and family! Seeing that Bible in the bins was heartbreaking for me. Makes me wonder what happened to Randy. I would have purchased it just so it didn't go to a landfill.
Fortunately some people will buy bibles and recirculate them for free. Hopefully it didn’t land in the landfill. I heard an amazing story about a bible that ended up back in the first owners hands after the owner wandered away from his faith and came back at a Christian Movement weekend many yeas later. Now if that’s not a “God-insidence” miracle then I don’t know the meaning of the word miracle!!!

Peterborough Baskets. They sell on QVC or HSN. They are very well made and lovely in the home. I have both these and Longaberger, and they coordinate well. Your thoughts about inventory are correct. Also, people near the bins location directly donate. So, often I'll find things that went to the bones at first site! Also, our bins shop prices all glass and any item with a cord seriously low, so I've had good luch with th ho se pieces! I dont hit the clothing at . . . My mom digs there. LOL!

Loved homeschooling! Did it for years up through high school. We were a military family and it was so much easier but glad we didn't have to deal with computers. Loved your video. I haven't been to the BINS yet. The nearest one is 3 1/2 hours away in Denver. My son lives there so I am thinking about going there this Wednesday. The smoke from all the fires has been so bad it's closing down highways so I've been reluctant to go far. Have a terrific birthday!
Items at the bins were at the regular Goodwill first. They are there for 5 weeks. The 5th week they go 1/2 off, If they don't sell. Because they were over priced, then they go to the bins. All items at the bins were over priced first. That's why you can find amazing things. I've found Antique Flow blue England plates, Lauren Ralph Lauren vintage pajamas, Michael Kohr, Coach, Sakroots, Vera Bradley handbags & A Ella Schiaparelli floral hat & lots more.
I have my fathers peacoat from the 1940's. Priceless. Bibles like the well used one are most likely from a clean out after someone's death. Looks like he used it well. Great finds today.
Yes, I would have had to buy it because I’m sure it couldn’t have been that much! I would have had to do without something I needed to buy it! There’s so many who would love to just have a Bible plus one as used as it was could have been great to use with studying! So sad
About the time you mentioned West Wing I saw a vintage Victoria's Secret Fabric in the bin! It is the little red and pink hearts on top of a white background! That was a very popular design unless they are still making it it's vintage

Lots of urban legends surround the bins. At ours supposedly someone found $18 thousand dollars in an accordion file found in the books. Truth? Legend? Whatever it is, it keeps us all coming back to hunt.🙌

Years ago my husband and I did research in Tanzania and yes, thrift stores sell their clothing to Third World countries, and vendors sell the clothes in the marketplace. For example, I saw an adult man wearing a girl’s pink raincoat and a boy with a Texas bar teeshirt. Because our clothes had started to wear out, I thought about buying a few items, but they were too expensive (our budget was very limited) so I skipped that. I still haven’t been to the bins yet. I wanted to go at least once.

We don't have Goodwill bins in my area. We do have Dig and Save which is a St. Vinnie's version of the bins. I haven't been there since before covid, last March. I can't wait to get my vaccine. I listen to Garden Answers, The Recycled Life, Little Poet (for women 60+), Parisienne Farmgirl, Dominique Sachse, Buon-a-Pettiti (Italian Grandma recipes) videos on TH-cam. They are fun, hard working, inspirational women. Way to go girls!
I would have picked up that Ned’s Head game that you tossed aside. It was a favorite of my son circa 2005 and I don’t think it was a mass release, I.e. Walmart, big box store....maybe later, but I bought at a local toy store so maybe it was mass released later.

I think the items are $1 each instead of paying by weight. I fix snags, take photos, sweater shave, ride my exercise bike and do my knee rehab exercises while watching your videos. Our bin stores in Akron Ohio are exactly the same, open & close: Merch change 3 times a day....you are seeing less good stuff because of competition, college kids are starting to pick the bins.... Plus it’s my understanding good Will has pickers inside & they have there own sellers. You’re right about being there when the rotation changes. .50 for paper backs 1.00 for hard backs. Our store changes 1.39 a pound 1.00 a pound over 30 lb. Get some gloves please... Always grab those rubber maid Tote tops. Almost never pass on those P coats. BUY THAT VEST!!!! Trust your instincts; you have a great eye & vision for fashion. You Explaining how that vest would work & what kid of lady would be interested is one of the reasons you’re so successful. I Think that first Bible you picked up was a good one even though it was marked up I think it was a Schofield king James Bible which is very desirable now I know the pages were bent but I’m not even talking about resale now I’ve shipped tons of Bibles to Africa I work with ministries that send their Bibles to English-speaking countries in Africa it’s too bad you don’t know anybody to donate them to however all versions are not desirable and like you said about the leather quality the study notes the NIV Bible that you picked up was a very good one because it had indexing extensive notes nice leather it probably retails for close to $100.

Hi Karen, I've never been to the bins (therer are none in this area that I know of) but watching you gives me an idea what it would be like! This one looked cleaner than the other trips to the bins that I've seen on TH-cam. While listing and doing other things, I've started listening to audiobooks, podcasts and half-watching You Tubes which aren't particularly visual or re-listening to TH-cams that I've already watched. I love the bins. I source mainly from there. I pick up a lot of the heavy wool coats that other people pass over too. The numbers on the pea coat would be the last four of the person's social security number then their unit number.
I can shop soooo much faster at the bins when I wear gloves, especially in the hard goods. I don’t have to be as careful, and I can get down to the bottom where a lot of the really good stuff is. And yes, I can see those vests worn by some cute trendy girl, with rolled up jeans, a chunky belt, and cute boots.
Agree! Only I find when im wearing a mask, and gloves, and digging, pushing a cart AND filming a video, it becomes too cumbersome to take a glove off every few minutes to push buttons to run the camera .. if you’re filming it’s way different than just digging ( especially wearing a mask and pushing a cart)
OMG, I'm the same way. When I find my favorites, break them in, it's hard for me to let go. I have a few pieces that are older than my teen children. 😂

The silver doo dad as you call it...lol, is an ashtray. My mom had one just like it. I am 63 so its pretty old. The beaks of the birds hold the cig.
The silver tray is a pincherette for holding cigarettes. I have sold every one of these Ive had. Good find
Flat sheets will sell to Quilters.
My Mother was a quilter and she would use flat sheets as backing to her quilts. Sometimes colorful flannel.

The first thing I found at the bins that I sold was a goatskin Harley-Davidson backpack that I sold on EBay for $27.
I've also found lots of silk & Cashmere scarves at the bins.
The J crew is supposed to look like that it is called a vintage wash it runs up to $70 on that J Cruz website

My dad had that exact ashtray back in the 60s. He always said the birds were pelicans but we lived in Louisiana, the Pelican State, so who knows. I spotted this on Don Draper’s desk in Mad Men, too.

Yes! Was about to comment the same. My dad owned a car dealership and I remember this in his office in the 60s. Late 60s, bc I was born in 63, so I don’t know the exact age.

Hi Karen, I've never been to the bins (therer are none in this area that I know of) but watching you gives me an idea what it would be like! This one looked cleaner than the other trips to the bins that I've seen on TH-cam. While listing and doing other things, I've started listening to audiobooks, podcasts and half-watching You Tubes which aren't particularly visual or re-listening to TH-cams that I've already watched. I love the bins. I source mainly from there. I pick up a lot of the heavy wool coats that other people pass over too. The numbers on the pea coat would be the last four of the person's social security number then their unit number.
I can shop soooo much faster at the bins when I wear gloves, especially in the hard goods. I don’t have to be as careful, and I can get down to the bottom where a lot of the really good stuff is. And yes, I can see those vests worn by some cute trendy girl, with rolled up jeans, a chunky belt, and cute boots.
Agree! Only I find when im wearing a mask, and gloves, and digging, pushing a cart AND filming a video, it becomes too cumbersome to take a glove off every few minutes to push buttons to run the camera .. if you’re filming it’s way different than just digging ( especially wearing a mask and pushing a cart)
