I don't recall any other board game where the Developer & Author shows you how to pack it away. Truly terrific

Cancelling my pledge for CoK is probably my biggest board game regret. I sincerely hope Frank that you will kickstart a second printing. I suspect it would do incredibly well.
I certainly hope we'll have the opportunity to do a second print run and give more people the chance to get the game. I'm sorry you cancelled and hope you wont have to regret it for too long.
The City of Games It turns out I won't have to regret my decision for too long. I just backed the Man vs Meeple season 2 kickstarter with The City of Kings bundle pledge. Can't wait!

I wasn't fast enough to get the copy! :'( I feel I'm letting this game slip through my grasp over and over again... my only hope now is to get the last pre order "invitation" through e-mail, or better - I would LOVE to be able to take part on a second campaign for the game, even with new content coming to life, maybe expansions, I don't know, I want this game so bad :) Frank, if you have ideas of opening a second path to your game let your subscribers know by e-mail of that, would you please? :)

Through the unboxing from Rolling Solo I happened upon CoK. I hadn't really heard about this game, mainly to my lack of looking for games, but happened to find that you were actually a creater! I had watched your 7th continent play through and had really enjoyed it, so it was awesome to see that you had helped in designing a game I'm now looking to get.
That's really great to hear! I love playing games and do the playthroughs when I have time as I just enjoy it, so it's nice to know people unfamiliar with The City of Kings are coming across them too!
Just got my shipping email. Can't wait till the 28th . Cross my fingers and hope there's nothing missing.

Incredibly helpful. I didn't film the way I tried to put it back in but it was the opposite of everything you did and you can imagine the result
wow... i just now packed all the game, including the character expansions WITH their boxes in the big box O.o and the top of the box is nearly completly closed.
only thing to do different for that is, that i had to remove the stands from the flags and creatures and put them inside the character expansions boxes... now only thing to figure out is, how to get the hero pack inside there also :)

I came here to look at how to put it away, now I'm curious about the stands for the banners and such. Which ones should I use?
Hi Gene, I'm not entirely sure what you mean. Do you mean which to select when playing? If so, you may use any of them, typically the one you best feels fits the situation. If you mean something else then please let me know!
Would you recommend storing the game box horizontal instead of vertical on the shelf?
SONSOFEMPIRE either way will work, I often keep the game vertical as I carry it around conventions in a bag. However, it's always best to keep it flat where possible as the contents are fairly heavy and it just helps distribute the weight over a larger area.
As someone who doesn't have the money to get the Kickstarter versions and such. What would I be missing out on in terms of gameplay if I got the retail edition? I know the organizers and the wooden pieces aren't included. But what else in terms of the stretch goals and what not? I haven't really been able to find the specifics of it.
Hey Septen, I'm sorry you've not been able to find this info, I'll look into making it more visible. Gameplay wise you wouldnt be missing out on anything. The deluxe version adds storage trays, wooden tokens, a few pieces of extra lore/artwork and anti-knock sheets to stop you accidently knocking pieces. All of the stories, scenarios and characters are included in the standard retail game.

Just two more questions, I'm watching a let's play currently of the game. I'm assuming that'll be multiple stories with the same characters? Seeing as I'm at the end of the let's play now and they're barely past halfway on the level track.
And two, are there any chances of you selling a separate bundle for the anti knock trays? Going to guess no, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

So your characters dont continue between stories, everything resets but you can of course choose to use the same character again. As you get into later stories you will start with stats, for example it might say start at level 3 and spend 4 stats on your character before you begin. Allowing you to recreate characters or try something new.
The anti-knock sheets and all other deluxe accessories will be available individually from our website in February when our store goes live.

Hi there, there are a few different box sizes, this video is based on the smallest of the boxes which is 27.1*37.1*9.2 cm.
Why is there a wheat wood piece but a linen cardboard token? The rest match.
KimDahl77 linen is made from flax and the flax plant has this same shape.
Hey Frank. Thought i'd reach out to you here as having a blast with the city of kings and git all the expansions etc. However there is a fundimental issue with chapter 3 of the Yanna and Kuma expansion the wyverns of vestan. Its impossible to win due to the amount of xp thats needed to get to a level where you can handle the reflect damage from the level 10 monster. I've tried and tried loads of sifferent things and feel that this story is totally broke which stops me moving on through the chapters. you cant get to a decent level of xp for this story and its a shame cause it eradicates any enjoyment i had playing it. So my question is, any tips or eratta for this chapter or do i just throw it away. This is only story 1 so shouldnt be that hard. Thanks

There are a lot of variables that will impact the strategy to use, but the story has been beaten successfully many times. Knowing your player count would be useful as well, if you post in the group above I'm sure people will be able to help. Please note I'm in the last few hours of a Kickstarter and will be travelling to the US shortly so it may take me a little longer than usual to respond.

I thought being able to put games back into boxes was illegal.
Sadly this method doesn't work if you sleeved the cards. But thanks anyway. :)
It does work with FFG sleeved cards. I just packed it and in fact it fit better than when I got the game from the distributor.
The trade and quest cards form two columns, but there is still room for monsters. I did not sleeve the quest cards though as they will be barely shuffled.
It works fine for me... Everything sleeved in MTLs.
I have my trade and quest cards in 1 bag so they form a single stack.
