Interesting aspect to present it in a 1960s setting but if its a first steps project than what's the rush? they should work their way up to a Dr. Doom confrontation and follow the comic book origin having them go against a simpler more base villain like the mole man while giving the viewer time get used to accepting them as the family established from the Lee / Kirby days.
