I have the ticwris max I just ordered this one because I have a problem. Lol I like the latest and greatest electronics. Coming from Samsung the watch I really do like the big display of these and the fact that I upset my co-workers with these huge display watches. I'm gonna stick with my DM 100. It's doing the job for me really well. I was gonna get this one but that offset band kinda kills it for me. Hopefully they come with a edge to edge display and thinner design. And that offset has to go. Thanks for the videos.
Agree with you here (I have the LEMT) esp. better screen needed.... I'm also a little worried about losing the watch by accidentally pressing the button that releases it from the band.

My thoughts exactly about losing it. That doesn't look very secure to me. I really don't think this is very much of an improvement. I'm liking my DM 100 way more than this one. I'm still trying to figure out that offset. Looks crazy.
Personal experience, the locking mechanism on the band is almost too secure. No way it's gonna fly off. The connecting pins are massive and it takes deep, strong force on the button to release the module. With two of them here, I've been manhandling one of them (just in case it did fly off I'd have a backup) and it's totally secure. Excellent overall design besides the offset.

How is the 4g reception with this watch, especially indoors. I had bought the Ticwris about a yr ago to use it as a standalone if I ever felt like leaving my phone at home and I dont get the best reception at my job even with my phone, but with the watch even worse, often no signal at all. I was sad about this since I really enjoyed the watch.
In bluetooth mode I understand you can't make and receive calls but will it at least show caller id ? Or is there an update by now that allows you bluetooth calls.

Mostly for work purposes usage as a secondary smartphone.
Really hard to declare a 'best' yet. I really like the fact that this one can be removed completely from the band and be carried in a pocket like a small phone. That helps me forgive other shortcomings that are on the other watches. It comes down to prioritizing the differences between them to assess what is 'best' for you. Thanks for the feedback.
this one has a landscape camera 64 gigs not 32 gigs the band works way better , better battery. this one is the best one .

The offset idea seems like more than just a design idea. Anyone tried this yet?? I wonder if it is practical in allowing the forearm to flex (better) as one works and moves. 👍
It actually helps so you don't flex your hand into the edge of the watch. Being that it is as big as it is, with the band in the middle you'd constantly wack the watch. Not a good idea.

any way to know which wire for which? cos i have a DM 98 which uses the same connectors.
Yea, if measured with a multimeter you can check polarity. It's always the outer two pins for power. If the magnets have been reversed, the heads will stick to each other. If not, they will repel (both with the wire coming off in the same direction). If the heads stick together, then the polarity of pins 1 and 4 MUST be reversed or they will be backwards when connected to the watch. They must be the same if the heads repel. Hope this makes sense.
Can you please make a GPS accuracy test compared to the Lemfo 12? I'm thinking to buy one but if the GPS accuracy is bad i can't use it for outdoor activities.
Sorry, can't do that. I don't have calibrated equipment to discern the difference in GPS accuracy between these watches. Too many factors are at play to provide a definitive answer. Sorry.
just got mine a couple of days ago from Banggood. looks like it already came with the firmware update. popped a sim card in and it works as a phone no problem. did find a coupe of quirks though compared to my Ticwris Max. seems google contacts sync doesn't work. when i try to turn it on in the settings, it turns itself back off. ended up having to use another app to import my contacts from my old phone to the local device. also Facebook and a coupe of other apps didn't show up in the Play store, but i was able to download an APK and install it manually though. and i noticed the signal is not as strong on it as it was on my Ticwris Max. my office is in the middle of a concrete building. my Ticwris would get 1 to 2 bars inside the building, where the Lokmat gets only one or no signal at all without me having to put it by the window. hoping to run the Lokmat for a while and see if it holds up due to the better located charging port design. my Ticwris Max was great, but lately i have been having trouble charging it due to the charging contacts being corroded and worn out
Thanks for your feedback. Double check that Google Play Services have been updated properly (go to settings/apps and check if an update is needed there).
@@SWT , google play and all the default apps were updated. still no change. also i've noticed that some of my apps like Viber, Messenger, and Line keep shutting down, even though i've turned off all the battery and power saving settings.
another quick thing, using the rotation app jacks up the camera orientation. i've had much better luck with Rotation - Orientation Manager by Pranav Pandey. i also use it on my Ticwris Max. it allows you to specify individual apps for rotation, instead of locking the whole watch in one mode.
Reminds me of a Neptunes Pine. Prefer Pine’s look a bit more.

Lots of questions there. Hopefully they do make more faces or fix it so custom faces can be added. It may be waterproof, but the company doesn't claim it is, so it is up to you if you want to test it. Shipping is dependent on the Covid situation world wide. Be patient. It's affecting all of us. I'm getting in watches I was supposed to review at the end of January. Today is March 1st. Please let us know how it goes with an alternate launcher. I've heard they can be installed but the watch defaults back to the stock launcher upon reboot or, perhaps, even just turning the screen off. You may need to fiddle with the settings.

Yes! It has face unlock.
So know that you done more reviews on this watch, would you say Prime 2 or this watch is better?
Each one is better in certain aspects so I couldn't really say Prime 2 is better or not. I can say Prime 2 is better at being round and APPLLP MAX is better at being square. So if you know what shape you want, the decision should be easy. Do the same kind of comparisons with the top 5 things you want in your ultimate smartwatch and see if one of them has at least 3 or 4 of your ideal 5. My list is different than yours, which is why we each have to declare which is 'best' for ourselves.

Download TH-cam from the Google Play Store. Works perfectly. Mobile data communication should work fine if the carrier is on the GSM network.

Wow, really hard to say as different screens have different characteristics. I've done a few videos comparing them outside, so have a look at those and judge for yourself.

On TomTom GPS the touch is offset. Is it possible to fix it?
That is probably an app issue the developer needs to address. Many don't designs their apps for all different size and shape screens, especially for watches.
I apologize if I missed this in any review, but can the screen rotate to portrait when it's out of the band? that is, can you use it like a regular, but small, cellphone when it's not snapped into the band?
You need to install a rotate control app from the Google Play Store if you want to force a particular orientation in specific apps. I cover a bit of this in the next part of this series on apps.
Easy to do to suit with the rotation control app. I did it on my Lemfo4pro and it worked great. I also ran Nova Launcher on that earlier watch for a more custom 'desktop'. I cant wait to try that with Android 9.

Sorry, I haven't tested the formats. It should work with mp4. You can download apps like VLC to play more formats than the stock player. It is an Android device, after all.

I bought this watch and after putting in tons of third-party apps I'm fairly happy with it. The one thing that I cannot get fixed is the mobile network. I'm trying to connect it through boost Mobile but it won't let me. Is there a specific type of network that works with this watch or do you think I have to go to boost Mobile so they could try to help me fix it? Thanks and love the videos.
Your mobile carrier must be using the GSM network, like AT&T or T-Mobile. It should work right away upon inserting the 4G SIM. Please let us know your favorite third-party apps you like to use on this watch. I'll have another video up soon showing some of my favorite apps.
Can't use Boost mobile because they are using the Sprint network and towers even though T-mobile has purchased Sprint it's still on a CDMA network. All Sprint and Boost phones have to be configured with there network. Only AT&T and T-mobile are true GSM that will work in unlocked phones.

Cant ask the question on the so called fullandroidwatch forum coz i was banned for being honest.
Haven't checked it but I would imagine it works. Only issues I would worry about are range (both to cellular tower and Bluetooth to your tethered device) and battery heating over extended time. If I get a chance I'll do a video on WiFi hotspotting using watches with big batteries, like Prime 2 and Ticwris MAX to compliment the testing on this APPLLP MAX.

I’ve noticed you mentioned AliExpress has individual sellers aside from the Official Lokmat Store.... my question is the other vendors never expressly mention LOKMAT as the brand name but have the identical hardware... are those in fact pre-production prototype units being sold and do they have the same functionality as the Lokmat that you are reviewing ? No idea, sadly as to what the back story is for what appears to be identical hardware advertised on Aliexpress. Sometimes the factories have some units with minor defects and unload them at a cheap price to independents who try to make a buck off of them. You see the same thing on Amazon when you click that link "Also available from other sellers" or on ebay all the time. It's usually good to remember, "you get what you pay for."

Mr Ticks as a standalone phone / watch how is the speaker quality i.e loudness / clarity for both parties ??
It's OK but speaker on all of these isn't as loud as your phone in speakerphone mode. It's louder than your phone in standard phone-to-your-ear mode though. Tethering earbuds to the watch that can handle calls is probably the best way to go if you're comfortable doing that.

But it's very small for me.
Right now I'm with Huawei gt2 and he's amazing! Best watch I've ever had. And I've already been with 12 😂 Watch
It's completely waterproof. I shower with him and I laugh.
Amazing battery time. I charge every 9 days that it reaches 20%.

1. If I want to read the notifications better. What's more important to look for? A larger screen or the option to change a font on the watch. And I don't mean a giant zoom.

On any Android watch you can set up a triple tap to zoom the screen for as long as you keep touching it and move around to see things better. I'd suggest you set that option. Just ask your assistant on the watch to "open accessibility menu". Waterproofing is in the LEM14 and similar builds like the Brave Pro. Week long battery life isn't here yet unless you take along an optional charging power bank designed for the watch (some include it, others charge for it as an add-on). Buy 2 or 3 if you really can't charge for a week.

No help available on this one. Sorry. The tech team aren't supporting it. We're hoping someone will open an XDA Forum thread for it. With only one button you can't press and hold both buttons to force a reboot, so, short of having the firmware file for it to refresh the watch, you're pretty much stuck. I hope support comes soon in one form or another.

Nope, totally not changeable. It's not a strap. It's a wrist dock for the small phone (which doubles as a watch by showing time on the home screen).
Could you live stream with either camera with apps such as skype, Facebook live, zoom, ect - also could you download apps? (of course assuming an active sim card w/ a cellular plan). Thank you!
Yes, you can, but the firmware has a bit of a glitch they haven't fixed yet about turning off apps from running in the background, so you won't be able to receive calls, but you can make them using Skype, Facebook, etc. With a SIM you can make and receive traditional phone calls just fine. It's the fancy Internet calling that's a bit buggy on the receiving end.
Does watchdroid work with this?
No, it uses a totally different way of handling faces. If you can get an alternate launcher to run on it that supports Watchdroid, then you can use it. Due to a glitch in the firmware apps are terminated when the screen goes off and won't stay alive in the background.

Is this the newest watch FOR THE MAX SERIES?
There is no "MAX" series as several brands use it as an enhanced version of their earlier watches. This is the first APPLLP watch like this and they called it the "MAX" right off the bat.

Think i will give this one a miss , going by the negative news anout the whole watch not getting any support or any real watchfaces everyone should be carefull using a bankrupt companies board is makes this too much of a risk.Its also not a prototype like mr ticks says as you can buy it now.
You're right, you can buy it now, but what I have here is one prototype sent early from the company and one production watch sent from the seller (which, interestingly enough, has an earlier firmware than the prototype, which is why I like to try and review both to show the differences).

That's nice. I've verified from my testing that the images are 4096X3072, which multiplies out to 12.6MP which, is commonly called "13MP" for reference. It's either a true 13MP module or an 8MP module with software upscaling to 13MP. Either way, the photos look really sharp even when zooming in quite a bit.

I try my best to present things accurately. There's lots of confusion in the company literature and specs, so Always check an actual review of the real hardware when you can. I'm not always right either, but I try.
I bought the TICWRIS and it will NOT download Netflix or Sling TV App from the Play Store. Could you please verify that it will download via this device and I will buy from your link. This test should take 15 seconds. Thanks kindly in advance.
Confirmed. Netflix and SlingTV will NOT load on the APPLLP MAX. Ironically, Discovery+, a service I watch, loads perfectly and I'm able to login just fine. Odd, huh?
@@SWT Darn! The redeeming fact is that I CAN download Pluto TV on the Ticwris. However, Play Store won't even allow the download of Netflix or SlingTV. I will gladly pay someone $50 if they can create a smooth workaround that is not a Frankenstein.
Give this a try: On your phone install a Backup and Restore app like this one:
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.infolife.appbackup
Then use it to backup the apps you have installed on your phone.
Use a transfer method to move the .apk files for Netflicx and SlingTV over to your watch. Lots of ways to do it. I usually copy from my phone to my computer and then from my compute to a watch using the charging wires.
Once you have the files on your watch, use the File Manager app to run them and they should install the actual apps on your watch. IF they are compatible, they should run OK and allow you to login to your account (make sure you are on WiFi).
If it works, hold onto your $50 and tell your friends to watch Mr. Ticks! If not, well, at least we know they actually won't run on these smartwatches. Have fun!

ARRGH... the keyboard is tiny on this! Try getting to your secure wi-fi net... Grrr.... Anybody know of a way to enter a password on this?
Set it up with Bluetooth tethering to the WiiWatch2 app on your phone first and then do the data entry on your phone when you are at the field for putting in your password on your watch. Much easier.
Just one thing to mention, this is not a prototype Mr T.
This is the same as the customers are getting when they order one. Just thought I'd mention it because all the people we know who have one of these have the exact same functionality and features as yours.

the prototype appears to be the more advanced one, and the production model doesn't yet update the OS software to the one mr ticks describes as the prototype ?
@@tedtedtedtedted I suspect that they are still working on the OTA process.
Yea, this is the same basic hardware across the board, but the V5 firmware wasn't available on the production units sent out to Aliexpress and Banggood. Those early units have all been sold and the ones distributed from the factory now have this same V5 firmware in them, so basically, that's a correct statement, this is no longer a prototype. OTA updating is planned to sweep up the early production units and bring them to the same v5 firmware soon. Once v6 is out, everyone should be able to get it via OTA. No estimate on that update yet though. There are definitely some things needing fixing, so we'll see how it goes.

Which watch faces in TinyURL.com/AndroidWatches can be use in Lokmat APPLLP and how do I download/file location into the watch?
The APPLLP MAX Android 9 watch doesn't work with custom faces yet. Android 7 and 10 watches do, so the MAX or MAX S would be your best bet if you want other than stock faces
