@ love a lot of your videos but I’m growing tired of the “I’m leaving TH-cam” videos posted by channels only to show back up not long afterwards. If you’re an entertainer and like making videos, don’t just randomly quit. What would you say to your auto mechanic if the next time you go to his shop, he says he’s leaving the industry to pursue something else. You’d be a little surprised. Did Tim Allen leave television to pursue knitting? Nope.
I used to destroy $280 Danners in 6 months. I got a pair of Nicks in 08’ that I’m still rocking today, had a couple resoles but not even ready for a rebuild yet, and that’s probably with 300+ days a year in them. So that initial $450 investment was well worth it. And you know you have a great pair of boots when you realize you still have them on hours after getting off work. Living 50 miles from Spokane where there’s Whites, Nicks, Franks, and JK boots I feel pretty lucky.
Stoked to see you're posting regularly again, Zac! I'm also totally here for the nerd-stuff that you slip into these vids, haha...Keep up the great work, man and have a Happy New Year!
My three knives in 2024 that reeally shook me up (in order of purchase): Lander 1 with original cat engraving Yonder, of course (obligatory) Bowen / L.L. I actually just ordered a yonder a couple of days ago, BUT I had completely forgotten it was your knife and I ordered it because it was exactly what I was looking for.
Bicycles .. love it! The knife collection here numbers right around 100-ish and I've been doing it for ten plus years. But the road racing bicycles number forty and I've been doing it for fifty years! Great to hear we have more than one common interest.
Glad to see your channel back! A couple years ago I also invested in some of the Milwaukee pack outs. I bought each item individually in order to get them on max sale or clearance (if lucky) but now I have the three drawer and the two drawer to hold my battery tools + sockets, with the rollers as well as the work top and it’s been fantastic , if I head to someone’s house to do a project or help I’ll just throw them into my truck. Then I have the medium pack out when I just need one tool box with a small amount of tools and supplies. I’m eyeing the yonder hard to enter my rotation with my Lander 1 D2 (with 3d lunar scales) and Lander 1 14c28n (with flytanium micarata scales), sendy, and mini bugout. For Christmas I was gifted the new Boker Modern Barlow, it’s small but an absolute razor blade and with a clip point that will pierce anything with ease including my Index finger. I love it as it’s quite close to my dad’s old Imperial Barlow that I’m paranoid about losing (probably a $9 knife when he bought it in the 70s but it means a lot to me). So would love to see your traditionalist knives. Also I would be very interested in a phone as a tool video.
Happy New Year, Zac! I LOVE my Yonder! It's beautiful! The Damascus blade, wood handle is gorgeous! It has the sweetest and smoothest action ever! My husband got it for me, and now he wants one, too! Aces! 😊 We're so happy you're back! 👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you so much for the video... and even more for the Yonder... got it this weekend... perfect size beautiful blade shape and so sharp... going to be my main EDC for 2025 😊
Hey Zac, just wanted to say thanks again for all the inspiration you’ve provided. it’s been huge in shaping my own content journey. I really enjoy watching your videos and always get some great ideas and motivation. Keep up the awesome work, and I appreciate everything you do for the community!
After your Yonder launch/announcement video I picked up both that and a copy of Education of a Wandering Man. Gotta say, huge thanks for that recommendation. Not only a great read itself, but it sparked an interest in reading I was not expecting. Went from reading a few books a year to a few a month since then.
I got the rigid version of the pack out. Easily one of my best purchases of the year. Even for just working around the house it’s nice to have a modular set of boxes I can pop together with what I need and roll over to the work. Plus it provides a small work surface to set things down and organize tools.
Hey! Loved the video. My favorite things I picked up in 2024. Favorite production folder. Bull knives xyro. Favorite budget knife. Civivi yonder Favorite fixed blade. Bark river gunny sidekick. Favorite flashlight. Stream light wedge xt. Favorite jacket. Prometheus design werx stratus down hoodie. Favorite boots. All black redwing moc toes. Lots of amazing pickups this year…
Zac I am happy you are back. You’re awesome brother!! Please make a large folder. 3.5 inch or bigger blade with some premium steels. I would buy one of your designs and recommend it to everyone I know.
I think part of what makes Zac’s channel great is that you still get the sense that it’s the original premise of TH-cam that it’s just some guy posting his own thoughts on the internet. It’s refreshing, but at the same time it’s that og TH-cam upload whenever which I can dig as long as it keeps this overall ethos.
Love your end of year videos. My New Year’s resolution is to make a Yonder the first knife I purchase in 2025! Appreciate your enthusiasm and dedication to the hobby we love. Happy new year and best wishes to you and your loved ones!!!
Great to see you back to posting Zac. My name is Hunter and we met at Smoky Mountain knife works. Nice video and it was nice meeting you. Working to get my channel like yours. Keep up the good work.
I think im going to order a Yonder today just because of this video. I haven't paid less than $100 for a knife in years, but your Yonder looks awesome with the wear on it.
Just got the Yonder two days ago. It is legit. Sharpest blade I've purchased straight out of the box. Also, the ergonomics are excellent. Highly recommend even if not accounting for the knife being priced at such a value.
My EDC changes are basic but solid this year. Civivi Yonder, wonderful EDC knife, M4 benchmade Osborne, and a BladeHQ EDC wallet has been a game changer for my SAK/Fenix E12 wallet/EDC carry. Outdoor Elements Scout Feather has replaced my Buck 105 as a woods fixed blade. Great video as always Zac.
You may think about designing a modern traditional… like with a Bowie blade, pocket clip… and with your touch, I’m sure it’s gonna be an awesome knife !

Check out the Kuneu Geezer for a modern traditional slip joint. Less than $200 unless you get the ti scales. Elmax steel, pocket clip and a great half stop that is at a 135 deg angle. Not as hard of a pull as JWK and more blade to grip when opening.
