Get Rae HOOKED ON PHONICS! She's 4 and it's time. Our sweet Nova Girl Davidson knows alphabets and sounds. She's SOARING. It's great to see parents working with children at home.
Gabe, as a former substitute teacher who taught Language Arts from grades 1-4 during undergrad and masters in English. I have to correct you on your sentiments on phonic sounds. There is only one way to sound out letters not multiple, in fact Ray was right in her correcting you. I found it the hardest teaching students to read when the parents did not know correct soundings for certain sounds/words. I would suggest a refresher for yourself as it’s confusing for the little ones and makes it harder for the teacher to well teach especially when the child is learning contradicting information. Just something to think about as she progresses into primary school. 😊

Great activity to involve Rea in spelling and phonics. Please continue to do so just ensure you’re pronouncing the sounds correctly. It will definitely help her read more efficiently and build her fluency when decoding! I love when parents include times like this when bonding! Great vlog!

We love you back, but I am wondering what caused this comment on this video? Was it her crying over the snowman? Also it’s important to note that we don’t discipline our kids on the vlog because it’s not necessary. Our goal isn’t really to have “control” over them or make them just blindly comply for the sake of obedience. We address the emotions/feelings behind the actions to get to root cause and help them know how to handle those better going forward. If we just shut down the behavior because it’s uncomfortable or is embarrassing or looks like there’s “no control”, then we don’t get to address why it happened in the first place.
😅...Chad was like, "where do we get hot dog buns?'. The look on Gabes face 😅 He probably didn't want to go to the grocery - sometimes gas stations may have them.
Honestly, I told my husband not to buy hot dogs anymore due to the nutrient content... I'm going to do chicken hot dogs for the most part. But once in a while... I will enjoy a good ole hot dog, lol! This vlog was great!🌷💙👍🏿
