As an Italian who has just gotten into cricket i think that only by promoting this sport among natives , the italian team can get better and the sport becoming more popular. The average italian will never root for a bunch of south asians expacts and british ,south african and australian of italian heritage whose ancestors emigrated 100 years ago. They are "Italian" only on paper and don't know anything about Italy nor its culture and language .

Fun fact: In 2024 icc men's t20 world cup teams who qualified for super 8 will automatically qualified for 2026 icc men's t20 world cup. But India and sri lanka are hosts who can directly qualifued. So it become a huge advantage of india and sri lanka group becoz if ireland (group A) and Netherlands (grouo D) secures third place they can qualify for 2026 edition coz of hosting. Two European teams are qualified but the European qualifier has two slots. So in 2026 we can expect Italy will be new debut team apart from Scotland. Eagerly to see in 2026 as well as Japan.

TEST FORMAT
"WORLD TEAST CHAMPIONSHIP"
2 tier leagues at international level
Tier 1: top 7 ranked teams playing
Tier 2: rank 8 - 14 team (7 teams)
Tournament will take place in 2 year cycle.
Each team will play 4 matches against each other in 2 - 2 matches home and away format.
In this way each team will play total 12 matches in a year(2 matches against each team).
At the end of league stage top 2 teams will play in the finals
Final: total 4 match in 2 - 2 match home and away format.
Total 26 test matches ( in each tier ) in a year
T20I FORMAT
"WORLD T20 LEAGUE"
3 top tier leagues at international level
Tier 1 : top 9 teams
Tier 2 : rank 10 - 18 (9 teams)
Tier 3: rank 19 - 30 (12 teams)
Other minor leagues for lower ranked team
Each team (from league 1 and 2) will play total 48 T20I matches in a 2 year cycle, playing 3 match series against each other in home and away format.
Every Year team finishing in the top will be the winner.
Relegation and promotion in every cycle with 1 or 2 teams getting relegated or promoted.
Because of this every match will be important and hence excitement will be always there.
WORLD CUPS
#T20 WORLD CUP:
T20 world cup will take place in every 4 year and total 32 teams will participate.
10 teams from league 1
8 teams from league 2
Remaining 14 teams from qualifiers.
#ODI WORLD CUP:
No bilateral series in ODI format, Only WC qualifiers will take place throughout the year.
Total 24 teams will participate in ODI WC.
All teams will qualify through qualifiers.
FRANCHISE CRICKET:
3 - 4 month window for franchise leagues from all nation happening at the same time and one player playing in one team. (Similar to football model)
Also Bring back Champions league T20 tournament.
SCHEDUALING:
International cricket : July - Dec (6 months)
Franchise cricket : Feb - May (3 to 4 months)
Resting phase/Auction/Transfer window:
1 month (june) + 1 month (january)
OR
July - Sep (Intl cricket)
Oct - Nov ( franchise cricket )
*Dec ( Rest/Transfer window)
Jan - March( Intl cricket)
April-May (franchise cricket)
*June ( Rest/Transfer window)
Total 10 months of cricket
2 months rest

In village district like mine ( okhaldhunga) volleyball tournament is organized every year time of dashain tihar and thousand or people come to watch it but nobody knows about cricket.
