Virginie, thank you for your reply. My mother's maiden name was Barnett and I am tracing my lineage to a Benjamin Barnett, who lived in the Glen Sutton area of what is now Southern Quebec in Canada. It is predominately french speaking and I feel that to potentially get records from there, I need to become conversant in Canadian french. Also I have ancestors that are buried up there, Polly Sargent wife of Rogers Barnett, who was the son of Ben. Rogers lived in Potton, now known as being a part of southern Quebec. The 2 versions seemingly very similar, with some variations. Thank you for any help you may provide. What I am also relating is that I may be a descendent of the American Revolution patriot, Benjamin Barnett. What do you think of that? Once again please keep making your french videos. Jim in Cicero, NY USA
@@FrenchwithVirginie Bonsoir Virginie. BTW, I also receive the town of Sutton weekly newsletter where it comes in french and my email service translates it for me also. Now I have the Google translate app which will also provide the voice, or speech of the french and English of whatever is typed into the app. I print out both English and French, but I also try to identify the different parts of the french as to what type of word I see. Getting a Canadian french newsletter helps me to learn the french language, as do your videos, plus the Learn French with Nat website out of Montreal. There is a woman in Spain learning french, and she is also trying to learn Canadian french as a beginner. Just letting you know how my french learning is progressing, and how I am going about it. Do you think A1 level is attainable in 1 year as a goal? Thank you. Merci.
@@A13JMC hello Jim, reading the newsletter in French is an excellent idea 💡😊 and honestly, A1 in a year is easily atteignable if you keep on doing what you already do 😊 Bonne journée !
Veste cool. J'ai une en bleu. ( I know that's not written correctly.
Say Virginie, what is your impression of Canadian french as it compares to the French from France? No hurries, if you get a moment, drop a line. Thank you.
Hello Jim, I do not know french Canadian that well so I would not know how to compare it with French from France 😊 But I do know that the accent is really different (it actually sounds really funny to French people ahah) and lots of expressions differ! I would say that French from France is more… neutral 🤔
@French with Virginie Je suis suisse allemand.
Nice lesson ,keep UP the good work
Virginie, you make learning french grammer enjoyable. Never thought I would be saying that. !😊

Bonjour !
