    My baby girl is 4 days older than Jackson, she goes to bed at 8:00 she wakes up at 4:00 I nurse her than put her back down till 7:00-730. She has 2 naps. At 10 usually sleeps till 11:30-12:00 than another nap at 2:30 or 3:00 till 4:30 or 5:00. Than back in bed at 8. It's been working for us. she has been in her own room since 4 months. We love your videos!

    Such a blessing to have your mom help you (even if it’s just a few weeks). My mom passed away 7 years ago, and I wish she was around to enjoy her grandson. Also I would suggest not giving Riley so much carbs, that can give her constant hunger. If she eats more healthy fats (avocado, veggies cooked with a bunch of coconut oil etc.) she will feel full longer.

    Once my baby girl turned 6 months, she was sleeping 2-3 naps a day depending on the day. She used to sleep 4 naps so it was a big change. She’s 7 months now and she’s sleeping two naps. She wakes up at 6am everyday and her first nap is around 10:30am for about one hour. And then around 2:30-3pm she takes a nap for 2-2 1/2 hours. She usually goes to bed around 8pm. It was a big change but she’s done this all herself. And she’s been awake and happy when she’s not napping. I was so scared she would just be screaming instead of napping. And most days she’s rested and happy ❤️

    Hi Kayla! My twins who are almost 8 months old still does 3 naps a day sometimes...it was close to 7 months when they started to have 2-3 hours consolidated naps, which reduced to 2 naps a day...and yes they do fight the 3rd nap, which i would still put them down on their crib and call it a “quiet time” whether or not they sleep....hang in there as jackson is only 5-6 months old...my twins also had short naps around that age...”lovey” is an amazing soothing thing to give them, especially if it has your smell on it! I used to bury the lovey in my pillows or put it my bra (tmi) when i first introduced it and immediately they got attached and I was able to wean them off the pacifier!

    I would like to thank you for your videos, they have helped me a lot. I am a grandma to a 17 mo. Baby girl, I have 2 older girls but this toddler will be our last grandbaby. It's hard for me to know what is new and good for babies this time around. I have purchased some items from amazon that you have suggested and have worked out for my granddaughter. I know you struggle with two children by what you say in your videos, I struggle at this time of my life with my girls, I pray everyday to give me strength and patience with them. I worked all my life and now that I retired I want to teach and be there for my youngest granddaughter. I'm trying to teach her everyday what you suggested to do so they can learn. Thank you so much.
    I even get some of the Bibs etc. that you buy your children. I wish I would
    have the Internet then when I had my child to help.

    My 7mo has 2 naps some days if they are long, 3 naps normally though, she's up at 8 in bed by 830/9ish. So she doesn't have a nap later than 530. Her awake window in the morning is only max 2 hours, and then 3 hours later in the day. So she's on a 8am wake up, 10-11am nap, 2-3 nap and 530-6 nap. Sometimes her 2pm nap is 2 hours (bless the Lord she used to have 30 minute naps) and on those days she doesn't get time for a 3rd nap.

      @KaylaBuell  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@KaylaBuell no thank you! I started doing some gentle sleep training once I saw your video with Jackson, I'd been holding and rocking my girl to sleep and I was so exhausted spending 20 to 30 minutes every nap and bed time, and sometimes she would wake up as soon as i put her down, and finally the last 3 nights she has slept through the night! After 7 months of sleep deprivation I finally feel like a human again! And she sleeps in my room, so the impossible is possible even with mummas smell and sounds near by!
      Also, love your vlogs, you and your family! Always in my prayers.

    My almost 6 month old has only taken two naps since she was around 4 months old. She gets up around 8-8:30 and then first nap around 10:30-11 and she usually only sleeps for like 30 mins and then second nap is around 2-3 and that one is from anywhere 30-1 hour nap. And I cut her naps off at 5 and then bath at 7:30 and breastfeed at 8 and she is usually asleep around 8:15-8:30

    Couldn't her hunger be related to the sugars she consumes with fruits, muffins etc., not just growth spurt? Similar to coffee and sweets for adults - you crave one of those, consume it, your energy level suddenly rises, you feel good, but after a moment it drops again, and you feel tired/hungry and want some more... Just a thought, maybe useful :)
    Also you shocked me with the news about Rachel and Dave, must have slipped by. They were such a power couple!

    Hi, I have been watching your channel for a while now.... really enjoy your content and I watch it with my 6 month old baby girl. She loves watching Riley and Jackson. I have a question... you obviously advertise for all the places you buy from? What do you do with all the stuff 😱. Lol you have so much stuff... do you keep it all or do you donate it? I'm just curious no judgment on you. I'm really just wondering as you have like 3 or 4 of everything 😱. Much love, no harm ment in my comment. Love following your videos. Keeps me sane.

    I think once you get Riley eating more foods with protein and good carbs etc she won’t always want snacks and be hungry! I know she’s a picky eater but once you can get her to eat more I think she will fill more fullz

    What a deal. You must feel like a normal human for a change. He did really well with stretches of sleep in the Pack'n'Play, so he definitely needs that or a crib so he can figure out his own sleep positions without being so confined, as in the Snoo. And I'll bet your mother didn't wake him up or pick him up every time he moved or made a sound. He needs to sleep in his own room when you get home, because you are not letting him develop good sleep habits any more than he is letting you sleep soundly. Don't let your need to be needed interfere with the growth and development that is essential to his ongoing life. You are needed. He still needs you for everything. He is used to being up off and on all the time because he never learned anything different once he no longer had the belly pains and you are perpetuating that pattern. In your room, he can hear and smell you. Remember this is how he sensed your presence to begin with because as an infant they do not have much sight, not at any distance with clarity. He can have a couple of soft toys in his crib that he can self-soothe with to go back to sleep and can chomp on if his gums are bothering him during the night. OMG, his cereal mustache is getting close to a replica of Salvador Dali's well-known mustache. A few more streaks of cereal on those cheeks and hand that boy a paintbrush! LOL. Riley does not appear to be overweight at all and she could well be having a growth spurt. Even mental developmental leaps use up a lot of energy, thus calories. If she does not eat much for her 3 standard meals, then it is much more common for children to graze. Most kids have breakfast, lunch, dinner and 2 or 3 snacks in between main meal times. But if she does not really eat a normal sized meal, then grazing becomes more common and not harmful, if you make sure she is getting her food groups in so that her overall nutrition is appropriate to her body's real needs. Give her a whole muffin instead of merely half with her breakfast. Does she ask in full sentences using 'please' and 'thank you?' Don't force Jackson into her pattern. Just be sure her snacks are sugar snap peas and carrot sticks with hummus and watermelon cubes and such. Goldfish types of snacks could be perhaps once a day and saved for rides where you want them in a snack cup where they cannot spill all over and won't need gooey dips on them. Cheerios are not an unhealthy snack. You said she seems to be going back to wanting things she sees you and Joe have, so maybe that's an opportunity for you to give her more foods she has not eaten in the past. If you eat at table with her without distractions and talk to her then that will encourage her to eat with you all. She is learning a TV dinner style of life in front of the tube. Jackson is at highchair stage, so they can both eat at table with their parents talking to each other and them. Laughing, conversation, a real family meal. It is tough with kids, but they need to focus on eating and getting on with it because of other obligations awaiting. Try changing the pattern when you return home. That's a good time to move things in a different direction. They will need to do that by school age because there is no time to mess with when buses and carpools are waiting or after school is scouts or sports. It's quite a struggle and you will be the chief cook and bottle washer plus private secretary keeping the calendar and chauffeur, not to mention housekeeper, laundress, etc. In its way, this is the easy part of it all. Riley's box of blocks looks wonderful, but the sticks in it are definitely not for Jackson just yet. He does not have the sense yet that they can hurt him and Riley is still learning how fragile body parts can be. It is odd how fragile children are and yet how indestructible the process of their growth and development can be, even without us, so long as they're not left alone in the woods. But they have an amazing resilience. I dare say Jackson recovered from his accident long before you have even yet to recover fully from it. It would have scared the B'Jesus out of me, too. I cried when you shared it with us. So it turns out we all have certain fragilities and we all have a capacity for resilience and at different stages and conditions of life those differ from person to person. If we all share our strengths maybe we can make up for others weaknesses and teach them to be strong and if we are lucky the world will provide those to teach us when needed. Riley, I always loved stories about pirates, too, and spies. I was afraid of other sorts of scary tales, though. Not very sensible on my part because ghoulies and ghosties and things that go bump in the night are not real, whereas pirates and spies do exist and are dangerous. If Riley's grazing were not within the normal realm it would be different, but don't keep asking her why she's 'hungry all the time,' thus making it seem inappropriate somehow. She should never feel guilt over food or as though she owes an explanation of her body's normal demands. In addition to picking at Joe about snacks because you are trying to be more careful about waste, she will notice it as relating to your always questioning her about snacks. She does not know she is maybe not eating enough at scheduled mealtimes. Many kids don't, so they graze. But you do not want her to stop listening to you because you've become a nag or for her to start to internalize that there's something wrong with what and when she eats. It could be a slippery slope into eating disorders, which are way more rampant among females. It could lead to overeating or other eating disorders or just her tuning you out or getting cranky all her life when she hears 'why are you eating so much food.' It doesn't help. It could hurt her. She is not abnormal. I have worked with adults who graze and that is their form of getting their nutrition. And some of them thought that those of us who ate 3 meals a day were eating huge volumes of food at one sitting because their metabolism just didn't develop that way. Wait until you have teenagers who eat and sleep all the time. Or sports participants who require certain foods at 3am on a Saturday before they go practice ice hockey at the rented rink the school uses an hour away from home. That really messes up the mealtimes and pasta supply in the household, if you are not prepared for realities of the lives your children will choose for themselves. You can try when you get home to wean her into more disciplined meal times with just eating and chatting and no distractions and then limit her snacks to one between breakfast and lunch with another between lunch and dinner while just saying no to other snacks. I would say that most babies I know or know of have transitioned to 2 naps between maybe 6 and 10 months. But in all instances they were much longer naps. And you do want his afternoon nap to coincide at the start, at least, with Riley's quiet time in her room, so you get some quiet time alone to work or rest. But the naps need to be well-spaced from his awakening and lunchtime and then lunchtime and his bedtime, so that he actually has tired himself out before going down again. You may do better to feed him lunch before an afternoon nap or give him a milk bottle at times he's going to bed to top him off. Be strategic. Your hair looks so grown-up pulled back in a bun. It's becoming. By the way, all that fruit is perfect because it gives her sugar for energy, it is a variety of flavors to develop her palate, and there is water in them to aid hydration. Even at age 3 or 4 or at daycare or preschool they have naps or quiet time daily. You need her to go down for an hour minimum where she has the chance to fall asleep in her bed or will be quiet with her toys and books until you go to get her. The more she learns to put on her pants and jackets herself and walk on her own, she will become ever more competent and tired. She will wear herself out for proper sleeping. Lots of people fish, Kayla, and it is not uncommon among women in business et al who need to get away in the wilderness to unwind and get supper out of it at the same time to cook over a fire.

    My 5month old has been only taking 1nap for at least 2hours and is ready for bed by 8pm. She still wakes up around 3am to come in the bed with us 😩 but if she eats at least 30oz of breast milk that day, she usually won’t wake up hungry until 7 8ish.
