No other wedding song was made as beautiful as this one. There is so much earthiness in picturization. The director pulled off some of the greatest shots in indian wedding .

@@americansreview because Mahesh Babu played a very nuaghty role in the movie while the female lead is just shy, they are so clumsy because they all very innocent charectar, the movie more of a wholesome type but there are twists in it that make the movie very interesting. And this song, it was practically impossible to not play this song in Telugu marriages nowadays, that's how famous this song.

@@americansreview that dress is not worn everyday. these days everyone is wearing pants r trousers. so the song starts with mahesh feeling difficulty in wearing that dress and the family helping him... marriage experience is obviously new and first time to the youngsters and the elders help them do everything as per customs and traditions. and tats what has been going throughout the song..

There's very much significance in the music composition, those are traditional South Indian musical instruments used in the composition. In every frame in the song which is showing the process which happens during the whole marriage ceremony, which has very poetic descriptive lyrics about the significance of marriage, vows and its values.
I love my culture which gives this much importance to marriage and encourages monogamy as the only primary relationship which should exist, where marriage is not done within a moment when two people agree, where two families come together they discuss and then they agree on one date. Both families don't shy from spending an ounce less for the celebration of the marriage (as it's an honour to make the wedding look grand), where each and every person known from bride and groom's side all (friends, family, relatives and far relatives in those days) are invited to the wedding day, and everyone are served food which is enough to fulfill everyone's stomach and if extra left that is given to their closed ones or feed to the poor people.
Looking at no. of people involved during all the ceremonies and their individual efforts to make the marriage work out, these all make bride and groom understand the value and seriousness of their relationship and they respect it. That's why, though in later years though they have a tough time (fights, no time, distance, etc.) making their relationship, they somehow try to survive their relationship happily. It's proven psychologically that any one person cannot maintain that relationship sincerity if it was not for the first person they were in relationship with, as the number of relationships increases, psychological for your subconscious' mind the value and respect for that relationship decreases.
If you would have written this much in your English essay, you would have been an IAS officer by now. Such a wasted soul !

It's like a joining of two families, two souls into one! Each ritual has different meanings, turmeric is considered auspicious because of the medicinal properties, the shower is done with turmeric and gram powder (it's called sunnipindi in Telugu) to make them pure and proper physically, they're made to put mixture of Jeera and jaggery which symbolises the way they need to mix together in life even though they have different properties (read as characters), the three knots of mangalsutra indicates three commitments of togetherness (by heart, by words and by actions), the unison of two souls is witnessed and blessed by God and ancestors through the fire (we generally cremate bodies in fire, so fire is considered as medium of such things) and there are many more things which are philosophical and scientific in one way or the other! The bride and groom are given the status of God when they're in mandap as they say! I think I should not overwhelm you anymore!

This is just a snippet and most main rituals of what goes on in Telugu wedding... There are so many other rituals followed by different castes of people.. but the main rituals are almost same like in this video in telugu wedding.. But its not the same in other south Indian states.. Kerala wedding and Tamil Nadu weddings are quite different

Yes, there are variations in some of the rituals change from region to region and some rituals are universal across all hindus. Like groom tying mangalasutra(knot applied with tamarind) to bride's neck 3:36 is universal. putting jaggery, cumin on each others head 3:26 is mostly unique to telugu hindu weddings. They are not teenagers. Typically these are arranged marriages. And they have their first night is also at auspicious time(muhurtam) decided by priests.

This is a typical telugu wedding, south indian wedding is a broad term. Weddings are different in each southern state despite being hindu weddings... Also this is a cinematic olden days wedding (this is an old movie) . These days there's more pomp and fusion like adding sangeet and mehendi, which are not really part of telugu weddings earlier. Also, they are not teenagers. Weddings below 18 for girls and 21 for boys are illegal in India.
