The sheer honesty between two kids. Beth and rip. There is no love deeper than that of someone who knows you to your core, and will drop their facade in a second when things get real. This writing is utterly superb.
its a made up series played by actors....you know its not real, right? You know when Gilligans Island came out (look it up if you dont remember/know the series) people actually called the Coast Guard to report that there were castaways that needed rescued.
Beth’s character grows exponentially from her damaged beginnings - she’s tough on the outside / but marshmallow in the middle. You have to watch the whole series to appreciate her as she matures.
All of the casting for the younger versions of these characters is amazing except for Beth. Her younger self doesn’t look terrible or anything it’s just that the other ones are all so spot on. John, Rip, and Lloyd’s younger character actors look and sound so much like the older versions it’s crazy.

This is the same guy who took a bullet to the liver without flinching while saving Beth after she got kidnapped by the Beck brothers.
