When three suburban moms get tired of trying to make ends meet, they decide it's time to stick up for themselves by robbing the local supermarket at (toy) gunpoint. But when the manager catches a glimpse of one of them and the loot is far more than they expected, it doesn't take long for the three best friends to realize the perfect getaway will be harder than they think. He's a kingpin, so I'm not surprised. People expect gangbangers to live in trap houses, but when you're a leader in organized crime you tend to run a tight ship and, therefore, keep a clean house.
Him being so clean and organized wasn’t too shocking to me. When he first interacted with Beth, Ruby, and Annie, he was more fascinated by Beth’s marble counters remember? He even told her not to have the oranges there because the acid would make it erode. How detailed he was made me think he definitely had a well kept place
I wasn't surprised his house was so tidy, either, but I think Beth kind of was. His closet was definitely an eye-opener for her.
It gives me anxiety when she walked around his house because I felt like he was going to just pop out of nowhere... I’m dead 💀💀💀

What I loveeee about these moments between Beth & Rio is how the music completely disappears and there's just silence. Christina Hendricks & Manny Montana have so much chemistry. It's wild!

@@ang17218 Ohhh boy I know that because I have been down the rabbit hole of researching everything there is to know about Manny Montana and around that it involves a bit of research on his colleagues from the show. It's kind of like doing a puzzle. At first I saw some strange things, pretty standard, pretty normal - but when you listen and read as many interviews and statements from both actors and some of the other cast you start to fit the puzzle and you could see a theme emerging. It's not possible to detect it from a couple of interviews for sure. The first two clues that tipped me off were:
1. In an interview/podcast style - it has many views so it's one of the top hits on youtube - Manny says that he needs to do better in terms of communicating on set because he keeps to himself, he's reserved and he doesn't talk to people much. He says people don't like him very much and laughed. Didn't think much of it, thought it was pretty normal for an actor.
2. The thing that really sparked my curiosity though is under one picture on instagram of Manny and one of the other gang members his wife commented 'The best part of the show you two honestly', or something like this. Manny replied "Hahah, I love your little jabs". This comment has since been deleted but the replies under this were shocking. People were really mad saying his wife was disrespectful, she is jealous of CH, he shouldn't be saying stuff like that about the cast and so on. To be honest in that moment I got so disappointed in Manny because he seemed like such a good guy and this just seemed so out of character. And also I didn't like his wife in that moment at all either.
After some days I decided to give it another go and look deeper into the issue. I watched more interviews of the cast and they never ever mention Manny or if asked about Brio they just kind of brush it off and say they don't understand why people like this so much. All 3 girls say this. And people in comments have mentioned it a lot too. Then you look at Manny and he says how much he likes the Ruby storyline and her family. It's clear that the 3 main girls are not happy about Brio - but ok it's circumstantial.
We know that CH is a good friend with the writer and allegedly (this I cannot confirm it is true b/s it doesn't come from the actors) - CH wanted Brio to end and may have influenced the writer. Further, allegedly Manny tried to talk the writers out of shooting him in S2 because .. well it doesn't make sense I hope we can all agree on that.
And lastly, what hit the final nail in the coffin - I was a panel interview with the 3 main women and when asked about Brio they all rolled their eyes and then proceeded to throw shade NOT at Rio... BUT AT MANNY. One of them says I hate the way he says 'Elizabeth' and them makes a gagging sound. This is so disrespectful in my opinion because they tried to imitate the low tone and slow-talk of Manny and then proceed to motion gagging. Then CH proceeds to say that Manny is the only one who calls her Chris, that this is not her name, that it is stupid and then imitates Manny talking with his tone etc. The other girls jump in saying 'yeah i was like who is Chris' bla bla like little teenage girls in school cafeteria. And this was public interview with audience even, it was just very disrespectful in my opinion. While Manny has said that he works wiht great cast.
CH follows on instagram everyone on GG except Manny, and Manny follows the guys on GG but not CH or the other girls.
And lastly, which I don't really think plays a role but could be significant - Manny has been raised in a tough environment. Although he has said he's never been in a gang or drug dealing, this kind of things were common place. He's still away from the Hollywood scene and lives a humble life where he grew up. So maybe that wedges further a bridge with the rest of the colleagues.
Now I understand the comment of his wife - clearly it's a hostile environment and the girls, especially CH are not a fan of his character, probably because CH is all about the girl power, feminism and is so unacceptable that she is swept on her feet by a guy.
But hey, their dislike for each other make a fire chemistry on screen 🙌

I totally screamed when Rio/Christopher walked in and asked Beth "did you find what you were looking for". I was totally caught off guard, I was so mesmerized how beautifully immaculate his loft was, I forgot the be nervously in expectation of him walking in on her, and catching her. @heehee mefunny Yup, seeing that her socks were sort of kiddish and mismatched, let him in in a way you would think she'd be guarded. Then they had the "Blood In, Blood Out" sex and she dropped the bomb on him. She got his guard down then she layed down the law he couldn't refute because he set the rules. It was the bathroom sex that "jumped" her into the gang, it was the bedroom sex that "jumped" her out.
leeluv96 Yet even though she was supposed to be “out,” he was right there with the info about the raid, and he had to go track her down like he did before they were partners and he had an eye on the situation when she tried to ignore it into going away. Here she probably had him kind of impressed by getting into his place and learning his name but she wanted him so badly and I think he wanted her too yet was still trying to show she didn’t hurt him by “jumping out,” even though she really did. These two are all about the push pull so she had pushed him out and he was pulling her back in.

Not only is his apartment clean and super organized, it’s stylish and cozy too. 🥰 You can see Beth is in total shock when she sees it. Like it’s so unexpected from a street gangster like Rio. It’s another sexy layer to him. He’s a gangster, a dad, an ambitious business man, and he has impeccable taste. This reminds me of what he told Beth in another episode. “You won’t ever be a boss until you have your house in order” This is why he is a boss. And Beth lovingly touching his shirts was too sweet. #BRIOFOREVER🥰🥰
Brio is being Written like a season long fling(which I'm enjoying), but I think it has the potential to be something long term.
Also, the look on Beth's face when Rio told her to leave was a look of surprise. She thought they were gonna kiss and it'll be all good 🤣.

Agreed. I started the episode feeling really grossed out, and I ended it feeling like Beth and Rio are basically the same person, and he's known it all along. It explains so much about why he's so into her, and I think she will start to make the same realization. Whoever wrote this episode is a genius. I came out of it feeling like I've been judging Rio pretty accurately the whole time, but it was Beth I've been misjudging. Damn girl.
