- arguably one of the best songs from PMD, i’ve always mulled over how i could ever make an arrangement of it that would be worthwhile and honestly i think i’m pretty proud of myself with this one!! please enjoy my rendition of Sky Tower, from the original Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team games!!
i had an absolute BLAST conceptualising and eventually writing this one. sky tower is one of those magical tracks that takes you on an adventure through pure emotional culmination and i really want to capture that in an arrangement while also doing something unique and true to my musical voice.
i love all of Arata Iiyoshi’s work on the PMD OSTs and i especially his clever motivic usage of fourth and fifth intervals throughout sky tower to really put forth the openness of the skies that the player traverses. my way of interpreting the piece was adding more rhythmic interest and general energy to really push the momentum even further (yes i did bust out the 11/4 in the breakdown, ur welcome). with some added percussion and chip instrumentation on top of the orchestral flair, i think i brought a fresh new take on the track while keeping it true to its source. and i do hope you all appreciate it! huge shoutout to Emdasche as always, he was an amazing sounding board during the entire creative process for this track!

sky tower has never sounded better!! one of your biggest strengths has always been the way how you mixture oriental style to electronic and (while this song isn't as electronic as some others of yours) this song is no exception! the build up was insane and when 1:08 hit all i could think was woow. as always this track also has an amazing structure, gotta love the way how you build it more and more towards the end. great soloing and harmonies too. and that final piano/string chord..... wow... congrats on 20K too, you totally deserve it and so much more!! 😍😍😍

this gives me the image of bolting through the sky tower to save the world, it really gives that urgent feeling while still feeling like a closing to your story. i love this remix, this is awesome :)
I always loved this track, but the main complain I had, was that it was extremely repetitive (like, two thirds of the loop were straight up repetitions of already heard motifs with nothing changed)
This, not only corrects this issue, but adds a ton of build-up and emotions to an already great tracks. There might be just a little too much of 8-bit instruments for my taste, but it definitely still is a masterpiece.

holy moly i hate you youtube you should've shown me this a year ago, this is an absolute unit of a remix, it's so good!
Somehow more intense than the original, it sounds like a remix intended for a speedrun! I imagine the player and partner climbing sky tower as the dungeon slowly falls apart into a hurricane, with a countdown ticking away on the screen, perhaps escaping from the dungeon after Rayquaza stops the meteor but the force of the impact causes the tower to collapse. Each time the rhythm feels paused, it's like more time is being added to slow the countdown. Maybe it's because I always associate chiptune with difficult video game challenges, while the orchestral elements make it feel more cohesive with the Mystery Dungeon style.
Back when you hinted at a Sky Tower remix in your preview video, I assumed it was a redux of the original Sky Tower Summit remix, but I'm so happy to see the original Sky Tower see some love - I'm torn between the two tracks but usually prefer Sky Tower itself more! Oh, and congrats on 20k subs!

This is a bit of an odd comment. While this isn't personally a favorite, I do want to commend you on how well you did it. It's very good by taking the source material and being bold with its reinterpretation and imagination. It's very unique and stands out for its bold departures from the source (increased tempo, emotion, almost a techno vibe). I do like individual components of the remix and, as I said before, you did a good job with it. While it isn't something that will be on my playlist, I am glad I listened and can appreciate it.

The pacing of your remix makes it sound like it could be a level in a Sonic game. "Sky Tower Zone" doesn't sound out of place at all.

Reminds me of Ace Attorney, but maybe the original is also like that? I've never heard it. I can't imagine it being any better than this, though. This goes so hard!!
This gets remixed a lot but I don't think I've ever heard someone else do quite what you've done here with the rhythm of it - it's nice!

The thing with this is that the background has no cumulonimbus clouds in it.
This brings a totally different feel to the original. While both feel sweet and somber, this feels more like a battle where the hero’s trying to reason with a friend turned enemy. You know, like “I’ll save you from the darkness!” Give them the Talk No Jutsu. XD
