Thank you for what you give us about Rabbi Heschel, and also what you said about Robinson Jeffers. I did not know about his brother being an astrophysicist... it does show in his poems! And also, thank you about what you said about Mary Oliver.

Earth, as a symbol, just like a cell in our body. The cell, Cannot be seen with the naked eyes. We cannot see the instrument Taking the picture, and sending it back to earth for us to see our beautiful planet. I love her so much, I was born because of her and will die in her.
The sacred, owned, Earth? Earth has "I OWN IT" pasted all over it. Backed up by police, armies, prisons and punishments. That might have to back off somewhat. If you own something, you can disrespect it, abuse it, work it, whatever. But you don't have to recognize its "sacredness." Looking at the Earth as belonging to God, and yourself as belonging to God, brings hope, though.
OUR TINY SOMEWHERE a description of Earth from Maria Popova The speck in the last Voyager photograph was Earth, 400 million miles away at the edge of the solar system it turned to look one last time our way. Everything we have loved and learned, all we know and breathe and hope is here, our little speck. the brief span of my breath the dose of oxygen which lasts 3 seconds, and then again, another dose, my 72 heartbeats pulsing in this minute in all this vast cosmos with the rhythm the heart makes and does not stop ’til death the racing mind can expand toward that infinity wanting to see the edge but only flying further- like desire, moving toward fullness of being. and then it is time to do the dishes, and then to fall asleep and dream Martina Nicholson 2019
Brilliant and radiant as ever. Thank you, Father Fox.
The poem at the start blew me away!
The earth loves us, and she does so without prejudice. Time to return the favor, brothers and sisters.
"The throat is a birth canal for wisdom, it’s been gagged and stuffed." Powerful piece Mr Fox. Thank YOU !!
Brilliant and moving. Thank you.

"Acedia is a lack of energy to do new things." Wow, from Aquinas! We can't wallow in cynicism and pessimism, and fear. Couch-potato-itis"
Why not recover the Sacredness and holiness of God who made all things?
That works.
Earth is the body of God. There is mo separateness.
OUR TINY SOMEWHERE
a description of Earth from Maria Popova
The speck in the last
Voyager photograph
was Earth,
400 million miles away
at the edge of the solar system
it turned to look one last time
our way.
Everything we have loved and learned,
all we know and breathe
and hope is here, our
little speck.
the brief span of my breath
the dose of oxygen which lasts 3 seconds,
and then again, another dose,
my 72 heartbeats pulsing in this minute
in all this vast cosmos
with the rhythm the heart makes
and does not stop ’til death
the racing mind can expand
toward that infinity
wanting to see the edge
but only flying further-
like desire,
moving toward fullness
of being.
and then it is time
to do the dishes,
and then
to fall asleep
and dream
