I loved Trinity's take on Storypath for its iteration (Scion I have issues with parts, mostly the Scion specific parts than the basic SP parts), and how it worked from roll to roll and how it interacted with RP and scene flow. I can't wait to see how SPU actually flows now!
I’m familiar with the Storyteller System, and I think it does a good job of staying out of the player’s way. It’s straightforward, and players don’t have to memorize much. Additionally, there’s an in-game effect when you roll “hits” beyond the difficulty-this determines how well you succeed. In damage rolls, these extra hits translate to additional damage. However, the downside of the Storyteller System, in my opinion, is that certain skills are overused, while only a few really matter: Awareness, Athletics, Melee, Investigation, and Subterfuge. That’s about it. Then there’s the combat system. In V20/W20/M20/C20, it feels too long and detailed, while in V5/W5, it’s been simplified to the point where it feels like you might as well flip a coin to see who wins. There’s no middle ground.
"Would someone pick up a system book if it was that thick" I mean, HERO System is that thick and people play it! (I am in no way saying I want SPU to be anything like HERO System)

It's sad they stopped working on Chronicles of Darkness stuff. It's really the best work OPP has ever done to this day. I see Curseborne as their replacement. As far as Storypath Ultra, it looks way better than the first edition, which wasn't good at all.

@@charley2070 Storypath is an improvement from Storyteller imo.
Middleground was Requiem

O my, what a guest!
@@kabahr6517 A lot of the people I interview are with Onyx Path Publishing. I will say they are all excellent game designers 🤗

@@FMD-FullMetalDragon I don’t see Curseborne as a direct replacement because I feel like they have a lot more freedom to do what they want with it.
I mean if they were allowed to make more Chronicles of darkness books by paradox they would probably still be making them
