JUST BECAUSE IT IS EXPENSIVE DOESN'T MEAN IT WILL NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS.... If you're worried about petty mechanical faults then just go and buy slendor..

Have been using my thunderbird 350 since 2016 .
I have no complaints at all no issues with anything at all. I service my bike every 3 months from any garage local or RE and also the oil change.
I believe it's true !! RE makes the best bikes in INDIA and that too in very less price. Compared to any bike manufacturer in India.
Note:- I use my bike every single day since 2016 just few months ago I changed the battery. And I have not changed anything on my bike infact added 2 led super powered lights.

Stop complaining... Start riding... I bet u definitely love that.
Using since 2016, rains, drains, dust, mud, desert, rocks, highways, ghat roads, turns, blind turns, night /day, fog or sunny, single, pillion, alone or luggage nothing stops me. ..
Eased deserts of rajasthan, easing turns of mizoram, rode traffics in city of hyderabad.,
    .
But, to enjoy the ride and b safe ride at comfortable speed.
Testride is the option given by every company. Utilize that. If u don't have confidence in handling a Bike, then u can't complain about bike.
Be it a re /Bajaj /ktm/honda/yamaha u definitely need to love ur bike, it reciprocates for sure...
A 350 cc /500 cc engine if refined and added high power then just imagine the mileage.
Its to give feel in rides, hence added extra torque for cruise stability.
Don't compare halls with rooms..., the functionality differs.

Bro..I've this bike since last 4 and half year.
Thanks for compiling this, but this is one of the best bike in terms of look and performance (stability, breaking, suspension, cornering) out there and truly a head turner, as if you've taken out your 200Kg of beast on road.
I have my TB350 installed with Alloy wheels and bazooka aftermarket exhaust. Let me tell you TB is the best investment i ever did in my entire life. Please get some other bike for review, TB certainly doesn't need any review.

    1. Looks.
    2. Dhak dhak sound.
    3. Originality.
    4. Memory.
Those who were not into it, leave us alone. Bark into other production bikes.

    problems that I face:
    ® Instrument Cluster Issue
® Rear Brake issue at times...quiet frequently. And sometimes feels lile almost not braking effect. And sometimes rear wheel becomes tighten due to piston problems. Due to release and holding issue.
    ® Heavy maintainence😨
    ® Auto Start issue.
® Queit sad thing is we cannot cruise atleast at 100 kph.
    ® Front Fork issue...sometimes oil leak(hydraulic).
® Front disc got bend and slightly also rear.
® Sometimes the rear wheel bearings can go off if ridden on totally rough bumps or surfaces.
® Chain issue..can break if wheel angle is slightly deflected. Harms chain sproket and engine sproket and chain link damaging too.
® Always clutch wire replacing issue. Need to change every 3 ti 4 months for smaller cable guage. And if bigger guage cable means every 8 to 12 months.
    ® Heavy vibration.
® Rusting if exhaust system..especially stock.
® Lack of traction at immediate braking.

First suggestion if you have not used/experienced the bike don't give reviews.
I have been using RE Thunderbird 350 since 2013 and here are my inputs.:
    1. Self-Start : Works perfectly. My bike self start bearing got damaged after 4 years. I guess its reasonable period. Note after bike wash never don't do a self start immediately, let the bike dry.
    2. Vibrations: Absolutely no vibrations till 100 kph. Even mirror doesn't shake at all. That is the good thing I liked personally when compared to Classic 350. if you are using stock silencer.Other silencers make more sound can create vibrations. Secondly check your engine tuning, if it is not proper it will create vibrations.
    3. Speed: This is 350cc and has slow-pick . But give good speed on highways. But its 180kg and gives mileage of 44 to 45km per liter in city. What more do you want. Name a bike with 180kg which runs faster and gives 42-45 km mileage in city.If you need pickup you must go for 500cc but compromise with 35km per liter.
    4. Rusting: You are not fully correct. I am using since 2013 and hardly faced rusting. No rusting on foot rest as you said.
The places people I have faced rusting are as below
    :
    a) Chain (as its open. RE should work on it). But if you are lubricating it well it is avoided at least I didn't face.
I use 90 grade gear oil for lubrication.
    b) Silencer bolts and junction point. Its more prone to rust.
    c) Horns plates. RE should use better steel for this.
    d) Beneath the seats, Battery box and tool box. Its mainly because water goes inside and we don't clean there. This should be improved by RE.
    5. Fuel Gauge Meter: Agree. This is the worst part in RE Thunderbird. Here are the drawbacks:
    A) Gauge meter shows correct reading no problem. But The rubber buttons stops working after 1 year or continuous usage.
    B) The Gauge meter sits on a plastic base which if breaks you have to change entire gauge which costs 5500 to 6000. Not durable and costly spare part. RE has NOT done good job here.
Note: The gauge meter shakes its not a defect. Its sits on rubber and plastic base and its flexibility avoids breakage if bikes encounters an accident. If it was stiff it will break easily. I personally liked old gauge which was metallic.
    6. Brakes: Talk about New RE why are you talking about Drum brakes. Its Disk breaks are good can't say the best. This is my first bike and with both disk breaks. I felt like applying a cycle breaks without any risk. NO skidding even when i applied it during rainy seasons. In rains the bike might skid towards right or left a bit if you are in high speed and due to water but bike never crashed. And always apply both breaks together. I felt quite comfortable.
Some mechanics don't know how to repair so they screw-up the settings. But RE can should come up with better design / better quality than what it is.
Note: Keep watching the brake oil quantity (rear and front) once in a month. Many people don't know about this. If oil is not there air goes in the brake and it will not apply and you may even have to change entire brake kit.
    7. Maintenance: Not only bikes but human body also needs maintenance, ha ha. Its just a machine. You keep the bike clean and lubricated, it works just smooth. So you just makes no sense here. Every 3000 kms/ 3 months doing a servicing / oiling / tightening of bolts etc are normal servicing. I guess you don't ride bike at all.
There are some problems (as with other bikes) if you really want to know. Ride it first :)

Bro, I own this bike. Let me clear you something,
    1. I'm using it for about 2.5 years, no self problem.
    2. Vibration is the reason we buy this kind of bike.. I feel connected to my bike and enjoy the vibration.
    3. Instrument cluster works fine except the trip button. And a good rider keeps it in mind that what range he's going to get with the fuel he put in. I get 40kmpl so I know when it's going to get empty. Although, it has around 2ltr reserve so no big issue.
    4. Rusting and maintenance depends on how you keep your bike and your riding style. My bike's previous owner clocked 26000km in 6 years and I clocked 19000km in just 2.5 years, no major issues.

He's pretty right most parts.... I've had a 2013 Thunderbird..... While riding in groups even the RE people didn't want to ride it and openely telling it's bad
    Vibration is is pretty accurate
Plus the rust issue is correct... RE will charge extra for. Some bs coat and your bike will still rest
Worst part their service stations are filled with inexperienced staff always. Their solution for every problem - replace
But for some reason despite all these I still love this bike

Not to buy" thunderbird" then Bhai which is the best bike in this price tag better than thunderbird?
"Not your bike" interesting ...so you shared some points that you never faced.
And one more question do you have any riding experience in RE bikes?
self start problem. Two year after problem? Yes ofcourse Wear and tear will damage that naturally and inevitably occurs as a result of normal wear or rough use without proper interval. (And interested to know that how much time your friend has changed the self start system or bearing on that bike?)
Vibration. You are big zero in case of riding experience with RE bikes. The sweet spot of thunder bird is 75 to 85 kmph(aprox) at that speed this machine is stable and calm"you said pagal" please at least ride a well maintained RE Thunderbird in that speed before this kind idiotic comment.
and in this price tag can you suggest a bike without vibration above 85 kmph with this much stability?
No power. Dear man this is not a sports bike or racing bike. Whether you are weighing 70 or 170kg the bike's initial pulling will be stable and constant without any struggle. It has a long stroke slow firing engine. This is because of an engine develops a slow revving or thumping characteristic which is contrary to what one would typically find in sports bikes which in one twist of the throttle vrooms up to 10-12,000 RPM while if you twist RE you will realize it will thump it's way to Max 4-5,000 rpm .Long stroke engine produces high torque at low rpm and but less power in high rpm.First you study the engine characters then comment.
Rusting. Dam sure.If you keep the bike open to wether it will rust. Thunderbird is made by metal. Not plastic.
Instrument cluster problem. Ok... how much time your friend changed instrument cluster in that bike you are commenting with? Can you show any brand without any defect in instrument cluster?
Break problem. In 2019 both breaks are disc and ABS. If you hate RE bikes you always find problems on it.
High maintenance. True may in RE Service Center
guys like you are sitting at there. They don't know anything about this bike .If they try to fix something in your bike ...money will loot.

    • @kowshiksrikanth6516
      @kowshiksrikanth6516 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Your comment are too valuable . Even I thought of same things as like you . Thunderbird has a sweet ride at speed of 70 to 80 at 3000 rpm. These guys won't get that feel until they ride the chariot.
Hope TH-cam makes every channel owners to make them pay for uploading videos online orelse many like him are just blabbering like him without even knowing what's the value of the product.

    • @kingkishansoni
      @kingkishansoni 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Harley only vibrates when the engine is idling, the vibration fades away when you even give a little throttle, whereas in any royal enfield UCE engine without the proper customisations, the vibrations just get worse, and Harley's never rust unless they are kept in contact with water and moistures for years, whereas an enfield ? Just a normal monsoon pass and you'll notice bit of rust during post monsoon, sure the extra buck you shed on harley is because of the quality of chrome, ride quality and mass of harley riders. Anyways, ride safe brother.

Brother is using Royal Enfield Standard from last 6 year's without any oil leakage issue.( Jo log ye bike sirf tashan me khurad lete he unhe ye sab problem ate he)
Ceramic coating is a good idea but at least this point of time I don't need its...bahot achhe se maintained he... In future jarurat padi to pakka karvaunga.
Yes I agree Mirror viberates but me ne jo after markit heavy crome mirror lagai he vo nahi hote.
Powe chaya hota to KTM ya Pulsar leta...I also love these bike's.

      @kingkishansoni 4 ปีที่แล้ว

See you just got my point bro, mirror aapne lagvaye he, royal Enfield apne R&D department se ye nahi karva sakta? And about coating , abhi hi karva lo, detailing ke saath bohot sahi lagegi. And i seriously would prefer Kawasaki over KTM's, they're good machines but lack build quality, especially the RC 390 which are now made in india.

I am using this bike for more than 3 years and I totally disagree with all your points,
    1. In the last 3 years never had an issue with Self-start, so this point is bogus I think
    2. Vibration is there that I agree, but its not that much that you can't even bear that, its totally made of steel so I was prepared for this before purchasing this
    3. Speed, yes If I have to go for speed I would never go for RE TB, it simply indicates your knowledge on bikes, I wanted a bike for Safe and slow drive not rush drive that's why I choose RE TB
    4. Corrosion and rust didn't happen so far, disagreeing again
    5. Break Issue, I disagree, I never felt that
    6. High Maintenance? Seriously? totally disagree, only service charge and Mobil change on time

    1) I never replaced any baring..
    2) no vibration as in other RE models.
    3) I guess for 350 Cc cruising bike 130 is a good speed.
4)No rusting.. The upper paint finishing layer gets off. Thats it.
Anf leg guard corrosion... RE don't manufacture leg guards bro..
    5) ha instrument cluster has a problem.
    6) bro mine is 2015 variant.and got double disk..
Dusra... I can understand that you don't have an idea how to apply disk brakes... I have never faced a problem with respect to breaks.
    7) maintenance cost 2000 for a service.. You think that is costly.. Funny Bro... You should buy one .. Ride it for at least 6 months and then come back with a video..

Very True.... I faced all the problems that you mentioned with my bike. I am ready to compromise with any of the problems but not with the BREAK failure. As you mentioned my break fail when i was driving at 110 KM/Hr speed but with God's grace i was able to manage and control the situation with front break. This break failure happen very often and because of fear i am forced to change BREAK PAD on every 3-4 months. This is a very serious note that Royal Enfiled should consider and fix it.

I bought this bike same colour two months back, after first service I left for Khardung La loaded....Almighty's Grace no issues all thru...had to change the Engine Oil at 2000kms.due to steep ghats...you have to keep peeping into the petrol tank if you want to top if full....it is not advised tofull the tank full in BS4 RE motobikes...I agree with a few of your points Bro. .the chain often had to be luricated..We used thin oil as we had to ride thru a couple of Water Crossings.....RE needs to pull up and improve its R and D guys.
