i hope he will be the leader of the future group it will be iconic but they would probably eliminate him for saying the truth thats how korean survivals show are ............
Not just the judges, but everyone involved because who in the hell thinks that this is a “brilliant” challenge?! Most of the songs that kpop groups perform don’t even require choreography. They could’ve at least stop around 10 rounds to prevent over exhaustion, 20 times is just too much!
For someone who has been abused by his own company, Lee Seunggi had the audacity to promote & romanticize abuse itself on screen. It was super disappointing.
I think that the impact of the trauma just gets blocked out of someone’s memory and they only remember the results/ following events. Or this man is on a power trip and he feels good being on the other side of the situation.
I genuinely hope Lee Seunggi knows that in most concerts the idols/groups take breaks in between songs by talking to their audience or changing. Like did he ACTUALLY believe they never rest during concerts-
He’s idiot. He used to be ballads singer but not idol. He never got tired of doing dance and sing at same time. Now he’s actor 😑 now he want them turn it into machine! I heard they end up hospital include Lee Hangyul who dance so much and got told by he no charm…….
Literally how and now is he like a main judge? Like even on mnet shows there are judges that judge based on their speciality only, like singing or dancing and rap(I watched only boys plante tbh) @beautypetite87
The lenghts these survival shows go to to drive engagement is insane. How can the judges be sitting in their chairs being all like "you wanna be a Kpop idol? " while the trainees were on the ground hyperventilating. Like I'd like to see you go do the dance 18 times and then you can talk.
Actually the trainees who danced till the end danced 19 times.Imagine dancing 19 times with 30 sec breaks and no water continuously for you to get eliminated.😢
3:35 My main issue with that agrument that they referring to artists who have enough music material to do concerts, having performed for years already. Not TRAINEES who haven’t even debuted yet and are still at different skill levels. Like where is the logic? Edited: I hate that they even were allowed to copyright strike this video, Fixed timestamp used to be 6:20 now is 3:35
Exactly!! And during k concerts, they don’t do the same high I test it song 20 times. They mix in slower songs, and often just walk around the stage and do fan service. So they definitely don’t just dance non stop
literally!!! like these trainees upon debut will have at most 6-8 songs on their first mini album. of those 6-8 songs, we can say 1 is a pre-release, and another 1 is the title track. that's 4-6 other songs, of which not all will even be high intensity fast songs, there's gotta be at least 2-3 slower b-sides. the first mini album will be at most 30-something minutes too, which is 18-28 minutes if each song is between 3 and 3.5 minutes long (unlikely, there will be some sub-3 minute tracks). ON TOP OF ALL THAT, of all 6-8 songs, only the pre-release, title track, and 1-2 select b-sides will get choreographed, and even with all that, a rookie group will not do a major concert until their 3rd or 4th comeback. they'll go on studio choom, mnet, m2 performance and m2 relay dance, sbs kpop, perhaps kcon, promotional shorts/reels/tiktoks on top of the music videos and dance practice. which means only the pre-release, title track, and one very lucky b-side will need choreo. what does this mean? again, they will NOT BE DANCING FOR UPWARDS OF 20 MINUTES, ESPECIALLY 20 MINUTES NON STOP. there is no way in hell a bunch of 20 year old or less (some even under 18) trainees will dance for 20 MINUTES LONG NON-FUCKING-STOP and come out okay because "they need to learn stamina" like no, shut the fuck up.
Even if Yinghao gets blacklisted, I hope he can still have a successful career in China if he chooses to go back home. This was just cruel. K-pop trainees have been in such exploitative situations since the beginning and such little has changed. What is it with people wanting to enact the abuse that they went through on their juniors?
As a The B I'm so glad that Eric is not there during the challenge. I'm also a medical student, so knowing that prolonged dancing can lead to rhabdomyolysis (dying of the muscle cells) and acute kidney injury makes this even more disturbing. Moreover, the trainees are going through all this for what? For repetitive and boring footage that is tiring to watch!
I love StayC Yoon so much but it saddened me seeing her in that clip saying "you can do it, you have to" like girl, stand up! It's insane that idols think this is normal.
@seoksoon I only brought her up because she was the only judge I recognized in the clip, and I didn't watch the show, so that's all I have to go by. The problem isn't her either, it's the industry that normalizes treating trainees and idols this way.
@@seoksoon i also dont get it why, but i saw people getting angry with her because of that part where the trainees are clapping (the evaluation with eric there) and she said coldly "why are you applauding?" since theyre bad. But i dont think it justify the hate
I felt very uncomfortable watching that. Poor boys, I hope all of them will be able to get some serious treatment after this. Like this is just the next level of disgusting just for the sake of getting some attention for the show
i wasnt watching live, so i skipped because i was crying watching. It made me so unconfortable, even most because we could see that even the trainees that already had passed looked worried too.
If we compare it to Starlight Boys, I-LAND still wasn't that bad. It was like any other survival show without too much dramatic stuff they did for example, in Boys Planet.
I've been a Pentagon fan for years, and of course, there's a tiny part of me that wants to say, "Oh no, this person would say something if he had the chance." But that tiny part is drowned out by my empathy for the trainees. Like, how does anyone care more about protecting your idol from criticism than protecting a bunch of kids from actual harm?
Because it isn't protecting the trainees if hate train goes to the idols who are judges. The show runners are responsible for all of this but right now fandoms are way too focused on harassing and canceling the judges in big manner. I don't know how the trainees will be helped by the kpop community now mentally harassing the judges. I also don't know what's worse inhumane producers who set up missions like that or the kpop community ganging up to bully the judges.
@perfectpmh1020 I don't know what part of my comment could come across as bullying the judges..? I just think it's wrong to defend them against valid criticism purely because they're your idol and you believe they can't do any wrong. That doesn't mean I condone harassment and hate towards them. Accountability isn't bullying, and bullying isn't accountability. What I mean by that is that anyone giving genuine criticism of their actions isn't bullying them, and anyone who IS bullying the judges obviously doesn't really care about holding them accountable for their part in this, they just want an excuse to cause harm. Both things can be true. Do I think the judges are evil people who are fully responsible for the treatment of the trainees? No, but I do think they should reflect on why they felt they couldn't or shouldn't say anything in the face of such cruel behaviour. Most of the judges themselves have seen how awful the industry can be, so it's frustrating to see them play a role in continuing the cycle. I understand your point though.
@allyh7075 Yeah, I didn't see your comment as bullying the judges. Sorry that it seemed expressed that way. I am referring to the remark why people are defending. The ones defending the judges aren't defending constructive criticisms, they know its inhumane. The majority thinks its very fucked up from the producers side and even what Lee Seunggi said. Most defending I have seen really goes to people shifting the blame from the showrunner who are responsible for the narrative and the edit (it's possible they didn't even show everything that has been said) In the past week the social accounts of all judges have been filled with hate comments, death threats etc and now people are asking to boycott the judges. I can't really say it's protecting or defending them from accountability, it's more defending from the harrassment happening to them. The accountability the kpop community is seeking for should really at the show producers, that's why I feel those actions towards the judges aren't really helping the trainees since the one's who are responsible get away unfaced. In the end we all want the same outcome for the trainees but the way in which it happens could be more harm reduced and focused where it could make the biggest impact.
@perfectpmh1020 I honestly don't think I could write a comment more well thought-out and genuinely useful than yours, I completely agree with you. The energy should definitely be put into preventing those truly in charge of the show from continuing to do these things and avoiding backlash since they aren't the public faces. As usual, the real bad actors avoid responsibility by hiding in the background.
My admiration for Ying Hao for speaking up and taking one for the team while risking his own safe position and judges' dissatisfaction with him..he is incredible for that and he shouldn't have to feel like he did anything wrong because he didn't. Even if Ivan said that he could still dance, it was obvious that most one star and zero star trainees had a hard time breathing and some even had an inhaler which suggests they might have asthma which puts then at further risk.
What pisses me of the most about survival shows or this one is that they put finished trained Idols and Trainees on the same level. They expect Trainees to be as good as an idol, which is bonkers to me. They are Trainees for a reason. They don't have the same skills yet, and that's why they're Trainees. They are here to train and to build up their skills to reach "Idol-Level" at the end of their training. You can't make Trainees do things only Idols can do, and even most of them are struggling. "You want to be an Idol, so you have to be able to do that." yes, when they are Idols, but not now. There are different tactics to train stanima, but that's not letting trainees that don't have the stanima yet dance for 40 minutes. Normally, you start low and get higher over time, not from almost 0 to 100. I'm so mad rn.
The judges really should have looked out for the trainees, they had the ability to speak up about this torturous “challenge “ and yet they did nothing. The boy who spoke up is very brave.
YES! I have been waiting for you to talk about this. When I tell u I was in tears and depressed by the end of that episode and LEE. SEUNGI! Like, WHAT?! I just- y’know what, handle this Nat.
What kind of reaction did the people in charge think showing the trainees crying, collapsing, and hyperventilating from exhaustion would garner? Where was the logic in the making of this segment? I cannot fathom thinking “let’s show these boys on the verge of a mental breakdown due to our decision, that’ll make them popular at debut”.
I’m so happy you are talking about this. I was APALLED watching the show. Now I HATE Lee Seunggi, and I love that Chinese trainee who spoke up, Syo and Lee Hangyeul
The state of how this show treats its trainees did surprise me since the original Chinese version, _Idol Producer_ and _Youth With You,_ didn’t have the mistreatment issue. A lot of the mentors back then were actually praised by fans of Korean idol survival shows for being gentle and patient, and I remember one case where they gently urged a feverish trainee to rest and checked on him in his dorms (iirc it was _Idol Producer,_ with Li Ronghao). I guess it’s still culturally different though… This show is primarily shot and managed by Korean staff and mentors, and kpop itself has established itself with an infamous reputation for putting a lot of pressure on its idols, both in training them to perfection but also in the standards for appearance and behaviour. China’s industry is a little different because China’s emphasis on a culture of sincerity has bled over to the industry. And I’m not saying Korean society is inherently more shallow or cruel-Korea just has quite an intense emphasis on the hierarchy system, so authority figures have to be treated very formally and have the final say. Even here with Sun Yinghao speaking out, he is a Chinese contestant and evidently felt brave enough to challenge the mentors’ authority, which would technically be discouraged in Korean society (and he did feel the need to later apologize for it when a trainee insisted he could keep going forever). Either way, this isn’t a comment on which country or musical industry is better; just an expression of disappointment because I did actually enjoy _Idol Producer_ and _Youth With You,_ along with the bands and artists they gave us (despite their own controversies with stuff like fan waste). I’ll also be wishing these trainees the best.
i was watching it for the BAE173 members but episode 2 literally made me cry, I felt like I was watching an outtake from Black Mirror (specifically the episode where people have to run on a treadmill endlessly to save up enough credits to just have a chance at auditioning for a talent show...hmm I wonder why that one rang a bell) 🤔
To does that think that when you are an idol, you should be able to perform for that long etcetera etcetera, I mean yeah but not like that. These trainees had 30 secs breaks after having to perform the choreo at 100%, so that's already not what happens in concerts or festivals, cause if you'd give your 100% to every song, you'll barely gonna make it through 3 songs, 4 at most. In concerts, at least the ones that I've been to, there is longer brakes, they perform slower songs in between, or either perform the song they are about to do without the choreo added to it, and there is also stage talks. They never do 1h of full performance at 100% of their potential with only 30 secs break in between, not even the idol with the best stamina in the world could do this sh*t. What happened there was totally brutal.
i was so happy to see daesung on a survival show as a judge but im so dissapointed, hes been an idol for years so he knows really well how messed up the industry is and shouldnt just accept this type of mistreatment
I'm disgusted by these judges, but I'm even more disgusted/disturbed by how so many fans of these judges are literally giving useless excuses trying to defend them. It does not mean that so many idols/groups are overworked in the industry that is it right and that this toxic cycle should continue.
I felt really sad and uncomfortable watching these poor boys dancing for 20 MINUTES NONSTOP with only a 30 secs break only to some being eliminated. This is inhumane.
I hate most of the Idol variety shows or survivor shows or whatever term they use to cover up those predatory evil cash grab stuff… anyway new upload yay ! 🖤
even idols who perform these long length concerts have breaks where they talk to the audience or sing songs with no choreography but those non-trained contestants were expected to dance 20 minutes straight? i feel so sorry for them.
8:34 the difference is that the judges are probably under contracts that they can’t break what if they didn’t choose to be a judge but their company choose it for them
The only survival show I stand by is &Audition. Instead of pitting the contestants against each other the focus was to build strong teamwork between them all
Its honestly disgusting how theyre torturing this poor trainees. This is seriously going to affect them so much even to the point of not wanting to be idols anymore..
This is happening everywhere, not just the idol industry. Greedy companies and employers put so much emphasis on quantity over quality (working hours over actual work done), yet they still pay peanuts and expect a genius to work for them. Another reason why some idols are able to perform for a long time in concerts without collapsing is because their company actually INVEST in them? Like the training, diets with required nutrition and others.
I think the biggest problem here is evil editting. We'll never know if the other judges like Eunbi or Hui said something in favour of Yinghao. Maybe they were supporting him, we'll never know. They're always gonna make the judges look like saints, it's ridiculous because you can still see that they're the wrong ones in this scenario.
that seunggi guy prolly know nothing at all about idol industry yet decided to speak because he think all idols went throught strict things like that when the fact even idols went through months period of trainings to become an idol and not much pressure like that to the point they are given less that a minute to take breathe.Ok idols have small amounts of time to rest and perform lots of songs in their concert but we are talking about trainees here, even idols dont go through to such lenght and even if they did, it took months to get used to it and they know when they can stop. That blonde chinese guy did a great job by speaking out so the others can at least take a breath when he distracted the guiders. You know what is more dissapointing??The fact that they are three idols there yet they push these trainees when they all know too well it is inhumane to do that.
also like. the "idols have to perform for hours at concerts" thing doesn't work at all. when you know you have a 2 hour performance you pace yourself accordingly. they were expecting these trainees to give 200% every single time with no idea when they can stop. it's like knowing you're going to run a marathon and planning accordingly vs being told to sprint 100m over and over and over again. the first couple of performances are still doable but when you're giving all your energy to a performance you're going to run out of energy in like 5 minutes. even in concerts, idols aren't dancing the entire time. they have songs they only have to sing for so they can spend less energy on that. a lot of groups even do solo stages or unit stages so that some of the members can go and rest backstage for like 5 minutes while someone else is performing. they aren't doing high energy dancing for 3 hours. no one does that.
and its the fact hangyul whos already an idol and have done concerts before got exhausted just like the rest of the trainees... seunggi is basically invalidating the fact idols get tired too
Honestly the judges were very wrong especially that particular challenge , my cousin who was a professional dancer watched it along with me and said that even professionals do not train like that as it is injurious to health , honestly i love the chinese trainee who stood up for the other trainees even though he was selected, HE HAD MORE GUTS AND HUMANITY THAN THE JUDGES😤
No cuz I saw a lot of people trying to defend the judges that were idols. I was so confused because one of them was over here smiling when they were exhausted and telling them not to clap while the other just didn’t do anything despite seeing them suffer. How can a trainee willingly risk it all by speaking up, but the ones that are already in the industry let this happen and do nothing? Make it make sense. Being a K-pop idol should never result in being ok with being mistreated are they insane? In all the K-pop concerts I’ve seen none of them has idols doing this 20 times with 30 second breaks in between. They usually talk to their fans for several minutes and give themselves enough time before they move on to their next song. Every judge involved in this show contributing to this abuse and torture deserves all the negative attention. EVERY SINGLE ONE. I’m only watching Project 7 cuz that environment seems much healthier. I will not watch Starlight boys
I am so with you here. I have never cried over a signal show before. I have seen many crazy reality shows but this one was next level squid game/ hunger game kinda frigg.
now the 1st and 2nd place (including the yinghao, who spoke up) left the show because of the mistreatment and harassment and people STILL do not bother to boycott the mistreatment must have been insane to push them for that decision
I'm here to recommend SCOOL❤ that is extremely underrated but WHOLESOME! All the trainers are friendly but still strict with a reason, and they do not do their elimination based on votes but talent! (judgement by mentors and I can strongly agree with it) It may seems poor and low budget, but trust me it's good😢 The first evaluation stages may show many trainee's weaknesses, but it gets better in the second performance! They really show how much they improve. (they do not use auto tune hall, and the good trainees are freaking stable) Most importantly, the screen time is fair, and they really try hard to show many of the contestants❤ There are some pure gems that we can't miss there so go watch it now😭😭😭😭😭
I haven’t watched the video yet BUT MY GOD FROM WHAT I’VE HEARD I’M SO CURIOUS about what messed up things happened with this since a lot of people are talking about how abused their being?? But at the same time I want inner peace and not to get pissed off…
I was thinking about watching it before this but God this is cruel... I blame SK government cus the fact they know they have the luxury of trying this then there is a major lack in the protection of idols health
How do you all think your favorite idols get train? They get treated just like that remember that many have mentioned they used to dance 12 hrs nonstop sometimes without even allowed to drink water so YOU the viewers are the ones to blame for keep watching this horrible shows but i am sad when current idols joined this shows they always become cold and cruel from lisa , twice members, snsd members to now Eunbi
If you watch the trainees who are resting during the 30sec break, you’ll also realise that none of them are drinking water. The trainees who do drink water are the ones who passed the challenge. Not only is there a risk of overworking, but there’s a risk of dehydration too. Fuck this show
There's also a couple trainees that have already debuted in the line-up - and those were just as exhausted as everyone else from what i could see. Even Eric said the dance is difficult, and i kind of can't believe that wasn't on purpose because it really doesn't even look good tbh. And even if K-pop concerts - which are obviosuly already incredibly exhausting too, and nothing a trainee can just suddenly do - *were* just idols dancing to the same exhausting song twenty times in a row with thirty second breaks in between, the atmosphere would be completely different. Being hyped up by your fans and not too worried about mistakes is a way better mindset than 'i don't know when this will end but i can't make a single mistake otherwise I'm out' and then. Just be out regardless. Why do the ones who get nothing have to work the hardest for it??? Who's fucking idea was that?
i recently had a talk with my dad and he thought that being a kpop idol is super easy. so i showed him the dark side of kpop and he was shocked. he definitely changed him mind immediately.
To be honest, I don't get it how such mission can be agreed upon with collective peoples in this show. Don't they put through their mind in measuring the consequences of such missions? I see more harm than benefits of it, speaking from medical side here. This is not Physical 100 Netflix show where their body are top-notch balance in terms of muscle strength, agility and endurance. This is basically underage trainees where their body are still developing and some even looks malnourished, a disaster combination for muscle fatigue leading to cramp and shock to the body system. Psychologically speaking, they will eliminate them through signal song, putting the pressure on and dancing with no end in sight, motivation and mindset can only go so long before succumbing to the body tiredness. Through what they putting in this episode, no support from judges at all, no one is supervising and teaching them basics on dancing and singing even. I pitied for the trainees that came here to learn and gain experience. They can just record them one by one. That is more efficient for the judges and participants.
damn i just recently got to know ab this and and it's SO disgusting like episode 2 literally had me in tears. this is exactly why i stopped watching survival shows they make me sick
I feel like they would never do this on a female idol show because male idols are seen as stronger with more powerful choreography and the producers and judges think because they’re male they should be able to indoor the challenge
The only survival show ive watched the full way through and wasnt upset at how it was ran at the end was a2k, (i know vcha is a global group and its not exactly the same as other survival shows but it was still one). From the start it was made clear they werent competing against each other and the contestants seemed to genuinely enjoy it. I'd never heard of this one, its so dystopian
Concerts come with specific challenges and pressure, but they are a completely different environment to THIS and it's baffling to me that the undoubtedly seasoned performers that the judges are didn't see fit to challenge this idiocy. This does not teach the trainees anything, only causes pain and humiliation. Funnily enough, at the end of the day the judges in survival shows hardly ever choose skills over marketability anyways (Universe Ticket, I'm looking at you)
MY REACTION LOOKED THIS REALITY SHOW: 1.Trainees doesn't meant they can be abused (this is blatantly abusive harmful..) 2. This reality proof is inhumane show I ever watched in my lifetime... I cried not because of joy n touched (but I can't endure this kinda abusive show.. This totally harmful, toxic and abusive). 3. This is pure cow cash circus kinda reality show treating all contestants inhumane. (They're young have ambitions but faces this kinda abusive show for globally entire world can see they're suffering). Would you be silent see that's is your son, brother, family be treating liked that. 4. See they exhausted, tired, can't catch a breath after repeating routines dancing back to back. They could face health problems. Are they going to stop until someone died. (That to late) 5. I totally disagree with panel judging.. (Wow now I know how toxic mindset try push their narrative to k-pop so this is allowed) 6. Biased given score just by their looks (contestants face) not by their talent. OUR RESPONSIBILITY : 1. We should be take responsible to REPORTING this TH-cam Channel .. (As they heartless.. we going to taken this responsibility..) 2. We should put stop to this kinda abusive show. 3. Are you (we) going to seat quite and be silent?!! Let's them get away just for reality show sake narrative. This is 2024 for God's sake. Our voices should be heard
Seunggi’s comment is insane and I won’t defend him, but I can excuse the other judge for not speaking out. 1: they have a show to run. Things like these are prepared for a good amount of time beforehand and part of their job as judges is to run the show. They can’t just suddenly change the plan and wing it. 2: nothing will change. Even if they wanted to stop the challenge, it’s not up to them. 3: they would be putting themselves as risk if they decide to speak up. And because of reason number two, you can’t blame them for deciding that it’s pointless.
The fact that trainees were struggling to breath and collapsing and they still ignored it is sickening. As a K-pop fan I can say that their comments were so wrong. Any real fan would want their idols to be taken care of, not mistreated. Seeing the boys crying broke me and I hope they’re all ok because that challenge was so dangerous. Not to mention the obvious favoritism and racism. I hope they all know they deserve better💔
i heard that some of trainees that got eliminated, ended up in hospital after that, i dont know how much of truth is in it but there was lots of people saying that on twitter, tiktok and doyuin.
I'm so proud of Sun Yinghao for standing up for the others. What did piss me off, though, was the fact that LEE SEUNGGI enabled and romanticised such nasty treatment...
I was hoping you would adress this! I feel like it's stupid getting attached to Contestants when all Companies have picked line ups. This show was so cruel i can't believe the judges would allow this i have a horrible image of stayc now..
the way the judges just sat there looking at those young guys suffering and then tried to give them a lecture??? where is their empathy and humanity??? I don't think anyone will look at them the same after seeing how they dont give a fuck on young people actually almost fainting out of overworking themselves. Those guys, there are boys between them, some of them are being tortured for nothing because they wont make it to the debut, it's purely inhuman
As an MC during Peak Time, Lee Seunggi helped contestants, so “he can’t say anything” “he’s just doing his job” doesn’t really work here, it doesn’t mean anything.
So, we are all going to support sun ying hao forever now after this right? Badass move. I can’t continue the show because of the issues. Seeing literally everyone cry felt horrible.
There is similar thing on DearAlice's reality show. BUT, dearAlice consist of people already familiar with stage (not all of them, but still). They also didn't repeat 20 times but just all of their song (less than 10 iirc). Even for dearAlice member, the "less-than-10-songs" Was already too much for them and they need to change lots of things (breathing technique etc). And as far as i know, i didn't see the training in this program
It's completely horrible!!!! What if trainers is injure or have health problem?! Never mind debuting, just continuing a survival show might not be possible!!! And what ridiculous is THE ONES WHO KEEP DOING THIS CHALLENGE IS SOMEONE Who not Pro idol or even pro dancing (not say the trainer is not good) BUT PLEASE, Even Pro idol need to trainer like more than 1 years and some of them not even get proper training!!!
I honestly dont like survival shows..99% of the time its rigged. The best contestants dont even make it to the final line up like what?? 😭 but to be fair there are some survival shows that i did personally enjoy like NO.mercy. That was so lit 🙏🏽 BOYSPLANET ASWELL it was honestly just vibes

same im a stayc fan but i think yoon is doing too much than soyeon and lisa and yoon should atleast say you did well at the end after the criticism but she didnt can you imagine ?? thats not a way to encourage people thats literally making them have mental pain and lisa and soyeon they did not even make a single trainee cry , if im not mistaken and some are saying she is doing her job and the trainees were worse bro yall should try dancing and singing online and yoon did not dance properly and sing properly during her trainee days and stop babying idols ! they are not your boyfriend or girlfriend
edited : thank you to 33 people for agreeing with me im glad im not the one alone who agrees 😅 and we should remember that we dont know idols in real life so stop defending
i hope he will be the leader of the future group it will be iconic but they would probably eliminate him for saying the truth thats how korean survivals show are ............
Not just the judges, but everyone involved because who in the hell thinks that this is a “brilliant” challenge?! Most of the songs that kpop groups perform don’t even require choreography. They could’ve at least stop around 10 rounds to prevent over exhaustion, 20 times is just too much!
Because he spoke up so those poor guys got a longer break there😅
For someone who has been abused by his own company, Lee Seunggi had the audacity to promote & romanticize abuse itself on screen. It was super disappointing.
I never expected this from him...... it's so wrong
I guess the cycle repeated itself here
I think that the impact of the trauma just gets blocked out of someone’s memory and they only remember the results/ following events.
@@iptcascade1641 IKR LIKE WTF ??
3:35 My main issue with that agrument that they referring to artists who have enough music material to do concerts, having performed for years already. Not TRAINEES who haven’t even debuted yet and are still at different skill levels.
Like where is the logic?
Edited: I hate that they even were allowed to copyright strike this video, Fixed timestamp used to be 6:20 now is 3:35
Absolutely. I haven't yet seen a valid argument for this challenge to have happened. I'm still waiting
Exactly!! And during k concerts, they don’t do the same high I test it song 20 times. They mix in slower songs, and often just walk around the stage and do fan service. So they definitely don’t just dance non stop
A lot of B-Side tracks that well established groups perform don’t have hard choreography. Look at Fate, Doll and maybe Villain Dies for (G)-idle.
And they do pauses to breathe and talk to fans... there are also breaks to change outfits...
literally!!! like these trainees upon debut will have at most 6-8 songs on their first mini album. of those 6-8 songs, we can say 1 is a pre-release, and another 1 is the title track. that's 4-6 other songs, of which not all will even be high intensity fast songs, there's gotta be at least 2-3 slower b-sides. the first mini album will be at most 30-something minutes too, which is 18-28 minutes if each song is between 3 and 3.5 minutes long (unlikely, there will be some sub-3 minute tracks).
I would rather shit in my hands and clap, than sit and watch a whole survival show the whole way through. They pmo so bad
Ugh literally. Glad we feel the same way
if a TRAINEE can speak up, why can't an established idol with a career to fall back on ??
As a The B I'm so glad that Eric is not there during the challenge. I'm also a medical student, so knowing that prolonged dancing can lead to rhabdomyolysis (dying of the muscle cells) and acute kidney injury makes this even more disturbing. Moreover, the trainees are going through all this for what? For repetitive and boring footage that is tiring to watch!
I love StayC Yoon so much but it saddened me seeing her in that clip saying "you can do it, you have to" like girl, stand up! It's insane that idols think this is normal.
why was she getting the most hate even tho other judges were much harsher than she was? genuine question
@@seoksoonhonestly i don’t think anyone knows any of the other judges so people are piling their hate onto the only known one
@seoksoon I only brought her up because she was the only judge I recognized in the clip, and I didn't watch the show, so that's all I have to go by. The problem isn't her either, it's the industry that normalizes treating trainees and idols this way.
@@seoksoon misogyny, i've also seen people trash on eunbi while not saying a single word about the male judges
It’s so inhumane and just scary I can’t even imagine what they were thinking or feeling in that moment.
I-land and starlight boys are the most traumatic survival shows
Starlight boys and I-land biting the curb 4K
If we compare it to Starlight Boys, I-LAND still wasn't that bad. It was like any other survival show without too much dramatic stuff they did for example, in Boys Planet.
@@Joonpathy boys planet was much less dramatic than some of that shows
tbfh I’ve lost my respect for all the judges, ESPECIALLY Yoon, daesung, and Eric… but all my respect goes to Yinghao
I'm not a watcher but Eric wasn't in the episode
@ alright thanks for the heads up; still disappointed cuz Yinghao had so much to lose
@@japanesefoodyum exactly
Like so true to that there were beginner dancers who don’t even have any stamnia for dancing. Like wth!?
The judges really should have looked out for the trainees, they had the ability to speak up about this torturous “challenge “ and yet they did nothing. The boy who spoke up is very brave.
YES! I have been waiting for you to talk about this. When I tell u I was in tears and depressed by the end of that episode and LEE. SEUNGI! Like, WHAT?! I just- y’know what, handle this Nat.
I'm not easily moved to tears but watching this almost got me. I genuinely think it's vile. Thank you love, i'll let em know >:(
What kind of reaction did the people in charge think showing the trainees crying, collapsing, and hyperventilating from exhaustion would garner? Where was the logic in the making of this segment? I cannot fathom thinking “let’s show these boys on the verge of a mental breakdown due to our decision, that’ll make them popular at debut”.
Lee Seunggi dismissing him disgusted me
I’m so happy you are talking about this.
Thank you for talking about this, the amount of people excusing the judges behavior is disgusting.
those delulu people of course 🙄dont get me wrong i respected yoon and the other judges but this is too much 😭😭
@ I agree
i was watching it for the BAE173 members but episode 2 literally made me cry, I felt like I was watching an outtake from Black Mirror (specifically the episode where people have to run on a treadmill endlessly to save up enough credits to just have a chance at auditioning for a talent show...hmm I wonder why that one rang a bell) 🤔
so the bae173 members who are not on project 7 are here?
@ireneasare9552 yeah, Hangyul, Yoojun, Doha and Minjae (Bit) are here :(
I wish the members on project 7 just knew how lucky they were to choose project 7 over this.
This is inhumane.
sun yinghao is currently injured unfortunately i do hope he’s able to recover and keep gaining support
Oh no 😭😭 I hope yinghao will get better soon
I hate most of the Idol variety shows or survivor shows or whatever term they use to cover up those predatory evil cash grab stuff… anyway new upload yay ! 🖤
yesss you're so right. The whole premise is inherently predatory. Playing around with peoples dreams and lives is just so gross
Those show runners are just evil, those young men could of been sent to the hospital because of that!
i think some actually were... but idk who
even idols who perform these long length concerts have breaks where they talk to the audience or sing songs with no choreography but those non-trained contestants were expected to dance 20 minutes straight? i feel so sorry for them.
8:34 the difference is that the judges are probably under contracts that they can’t break what if they didn’t choose to be a judge but their company choose it for them
The only survival show I stand by is &Audition. Instead of pitting the contestants against each other the focus was to build strong teamwork between them all
where can i watch it?
Sun Ying-Hau
Risked his cgances of debut and risked everything he worked for, just for the other trainees. Just for them to be healthy.
This is so disappointing I’ve lost hope for humanity and K-pop industry this is so sad to watch
I've long along too
The industry was always this bad and obvious. I understand why china wanted to ban kpop
I saw a clip of the 2nd episode and was horrified 😭
I couldn't believe what i was watching, luckily the comments did not disappoint
that seunggi guy prolly know nothing at all about idol industry yet decided to speak because he think all idols went throught strict things like that when the fact even idols went through months period of trainings to become an idol and not much pressure like that to the point they are given less that a minute to take breathe.Ok idols have small amounts of time to rest and perform lots of songs in their concert but we are talking about trainees here, even idols dont go through to such lenght and even if they did, it took months to get used to it and they know when they can stop.
I don’t know what this program was but judging from the thumbnail, it looks more of a hot mess than America.
Ate
and its the fact hangyul whos already an idol and have done concerts before got exhausted just like the rest of the trainees... seunggi is basically invalidating the fact idols get tired too
Honestly the judges were very wrong especially that particular challenge , my cousin who was a professional dancer watched it along with me and said that even professionals do not train like that as it is injurious to health , honestly i love the chinese trainee who stood up for the other trainees even though he was selected, HE HAD MORE GUTS AND HUMANITY THAN THE JUDGES😤
I have seen many crazy reality shows but this one was next level squid game/ hunger game kinda frigg.
now the 1st and 2nd place (including the yinghao, who spoke up) left the show because of the mistreatment and harassment and people STILL do not bother to boycott
the mistreatment must have been insane to push them for that decision
I'm here to recommend SCOOL❤ that is extremely underrated but WHOLESOME!
All the trainers are friendly but still strict with a reason, and they do not do their elimination based on votes but talent! (judgement by mentors and I can strongly agree with it)
It may seems poor and low budget, but trust me it's good😢
The first evaluation stages may show many trainee's weaknesses, but it gets better in the second performance! They really show how much they improve. (they do not use auto tune hall, and the good trainees are freaking stable)
Most importantly, the screen time is fair, and they really try hard to show many of the contestants❤
There are some pure gems that we can't miss there so go watch it now😭😭😭😭😭
I haven’t watched the video yet BUT MY GOD FROM WHAT I’VE HEARD I’M SO CURIOUS about what messed up things happened with this since a lot of people are talking about how abused their being?? But at the same time I want inner peace and not to get pissed off…
I was shocked when i saw..... in 2024? we doing this?
I was thinking about watching it before this but God this is cruel...
I blame SK government cus the fact they know they have the luxury of trying this then there is a major lack in the protection of idols health
im binge watching all ur videos so hard rn
I'm so proud of the guy who stood up against them
Tell them girl!! Love how you don't give a fuck and speak the truth 💕💕
Nobody could possibly shut me up 😀❤️
How do you all think your favorite idols get train?
Fuck this show
I just looked up the judges. Kwon Eunbi and Yoon from StayC are in this…
There's also a couple trainees that have already debuted in the line-up - and those were just as exhausted as everyone else from what i could see.
Who's fucking idea was that?
this was sick
i recently had a talk with my dad and he thought that being a kpop idol is super easy. so i showed him the dark side of kpop and he was shocked. he definitely changed him mind immediately.

From the start it was made clear they werent competing against each other and the contestants seemed to genuinely enjoy it. I'd never heard of this one, its so dystopian
Oh no :( I hope the new kpop survival show Universe League goes well. I hope those boys have fun. They messed up Starlight Boys, this is very sad.
the only show i’ve been SEMI okay with was boys planet. the judges were FAR nicer and left the trainees to do their own thing for the most part
i think i can count the amount of things i thought judges said that were mean on two hands.. which is amazing for survival shows 😭😭
6:52 LMAO I CACKLED
even other survival shows shows would've let them practice on their own, idk why sbs and iqiyi decided on this???
Concerts come with specific challenges and pressure, but they are a completely different environment to THIS and it's baffling to me that the undoubtedly seasoned performers that the judges are didn't see fit to challenge this idiocy. This does not teach the trainees anything, only causes pain and humiliation. Funnily enough, at the end of the day the judges in survival shows hardly ever choose skills over marketability anyways (Universe Ticket, I'm looking at you)
MY REACTION LOOKED THIS REALITY SHOW:
1.Trainees doesn't meant they can be abused
(this is blatantly abusive harmful..)
(That to late)
5. I totally disagree with panel judging.. (Wow now I know how toxic mindset try push their narrative to k-pop so this is allowed)
6. Biased given score just by their looks (contestants face) not by their talent.
OUR RESPONSIBILITY :
1. We should be take responsible to REPORTING this TH-cam Channel .. (As they heartless.. we going to taken this responsibility..)
2. We should put stop to this kinda abusive show.
3. Are you (we) going to seat quite and be silent?!! Let's them get away just for reality show sake narrative. This is 2024 for God's sake. Our voices should be heard
I’m honestly so disappointed and disgusted with yoon I have no words😞😞
Same she was my bias 😔
same i really liked stayc it was so disappointing to see yoon just go along with this abuse when trainees were literally breaking down crying
I had to skip out on some clips this is beyond fucked up. Quite literally torture p*rn, I hope those trainees are able to heal
Endurance is about a healthy routine of heavy training, not this torture
i heard that some of trainees that got eliminated, ended up in hospital after that, i dont know how much of truth is in it but there was lots of people saying that on twitter, tiktok and doyuin.
Im so glad one of the contestants said something this is so mess up i feel so bad for the trainees
“ you are hear to dance , if you are tired you just keep dancing ! “
Like wtf?? Such a heartless judges 😔they are also idols
I have watched only one survival show and boycotted ever since, but man I really want xing xing, yinghao and guanwoo to debut😭
I'm so proud of Sun Yinghao for standing up for the others. What did piss me off, though, was the fact that LEE SEUNGGI enabled and romanticised such nasty treatment...
tbh i used to like survival shows but i cant watch this show it makes me feel sick 😭
I was hoping you would adress this! I feel like it's stupid getting attached to Contestants when all Companies have picked line ups. This show was so cruel i can't believe the judges would allow this i have a horrible image of stayc now..
Yeah it's all just wild. I don't usually speak on *this* kind of thing because i avoid survival shows like the plague but... here we are
If sun ying hao doesnt debuts in the group . Then idk whats gonna happen to them after they debut cuz hao definitely isnt scared to speak out .
the way the judges just sat there looking at those young guys suffering and then tried to give them a lecture??? where is their empathy and humanity??? I don't think anyone will look at them the same after seeing how they dont give a fuck on young people actually almost fainting out of overworking themselves. Those guys, there are boys between them, some of them are being tortured for nothing because they wont make it to the debut, it's purely inhuman
As an MC during Peak Time, Lee Seunggi helped contestants, so “he can’t say anything” “he’s just doing his job” doesn’t really work here, it doesn’t mean anything.
They see Squid Game season 2 is coming up, so they said "Double up! But make it about idols." 🙈🙉🙊
So, we are all going to support sun ying hao forever now after this right? Badass move. I can’t continue the show because of the issues. Seeing literally everyone cry felt horrible.
Thank you for this video! Its importen that this misstreatment needs to be adressed! That a litterally children.
fck it's like i watched a black mirror episode
what's next?
There is similar thing on DearAlice's reality show. BUT, dearAlice consist of people already familiar with stage (not all of them, but still). They also didn't repeat 20 times but just all of their song (less than 10 iirc). Even for dearAlice member, the "less-than-10-songs" Was already too much for them and they need to change lots of things (breathing technique etc). And as far as i know, i didn't see the training in this program
My whole thing is: Hangyul literally made ZERO mistakes (he debuted in X1 for a reason), how could they put him through that shit for 16 ROUNDS?!?
So happy that this is going viral and being talked about
It's completely horrible!!!!
It's not Starlight Boys, it's Gaslight Boys. Cause the amount of gaslighting the guiders did on the trainees, it's crazy
Watching EP2 was disturbing ever... Feeling like a preview of infamous Squid Game Season 2...
More disturbing than squid game 😔
