That is awesome! The whole mix feels great but that climax definitely pays off. Something so special about spooky music with a bit of a lighthearted undertone. I think the right word is magical. Happy Halloween!
Thanks, magical indeed. ;) This is surely the lighthearted undertone which I'm always drawn to when talking Halloween. Somehow it reminds me of Tim Burton. *Dunno why.* lol.... Especially if it's a puzzle / board game. I think I produced this back in 2015. Maybe earlier, it was one of many short game loops I did for various games during that period. I was doing commission work for Come2play and Peak Games so I was spitting out these short kind of loops. It's fun to go back and share these small game loops, and the thoughts behind the production. Happy Hallween indeed MLH!
Yes there is so many techniques to use to get a mood and vibe going! Happy to inspire! 😄

Very good video. I would like you to do one on how to mix and master, because I have many doubts about that topic. Thanks and regards. Matias, from Argentina
Hey Matias, yeah we need to do more of those. Although mixing is really dependant of what audio material you got going. But some general mixing / mastering tips would be sweet to dig into. I’ll see what I can do. 😄🥁 awesome name ny the way! 👍😋 Thanks for writing.
That's superb David. 😉 Thanks for the watch time. I've got a brand new video coming up in an hour with some drumming. ;) I rigged my drum kit yesterday for a little jam. Hope you enjoy the new one too! Have splendid weekend. Peace! 🌞😋
Also, if someone wants to start into Orchestral scoring, have a look at www.spitfireaudio.com/shop/a-z/bbc-symphony-orchestra-discover/ there is an option to get this for free answering a questionnaire. Disclaimer: Im just a fan, not related to Spitfire Audio. I hope you don't mind this link, Mattias?
Many thanks for this great tutorial, Mattias! Enjoyed watching it so much. Especially interesting is your quick review of melody and harmony - indeed those triton movements suits very nice the whole feeling of the song! And I also like this symphonic orchestra ferry-tayle atmosphere, I think, you've preserved it very well! Nice track overall, thank you very much! Ah, we've finally closed the stage on our work project successfully, hopefully there's a little more time for music and things for me now :) The weather is nice and chill also, but flu still stays here, unfortunately) Anyway, hope it go soon. And I also wish it's going closer and closer the the snow enough for skiing in your place! Have a nice week, mate!
Glad you like this little Halloween music theme. Yeah flue sucks. Covid seems to be exploding so we are making heavier restrictions in Sweden now. But I'm as locked up as I ever was. ;) We had snow for a day or two but since then it's just a warm winter...hope some now comes soon. Today is booking day so it's all paperwork, which is boring. Hope to get back to do some music tomorrow. I'm preparing the Maschine+ video. Thanks for writing Alexey! Good to hear from you!
@@MattiasHolmgren Nice plan, Mattias! I seem to see the little sneak preview of unpacking your new Maschine+ in your Instagram :) I hope you'll like it! Would be so interesting to see some of your impressions on that. So yes, going on with locking up ourselves, but with music making, hopefully =)
I work in multiple DAWs, and I often choose to work in Logic Pro X when I'm doing film music and game music. This track was produced back around 2015 and at the time I was heavily working in Logic for majority of projects. Today I jump more between Bitwig, Logic, Studio One and FL Studio depending on the music. They are all good at different areas. Peace!
@@MattiasHolmgren One more question. It is off topic, but is there a way to get Bitwig studio lite version for free? Demo version is not usefull because i can't save/export my projects. Im using Ableton intro, and i like it, but im thinking to switch to Bitwig.
Great video! Just a note on pronouncing the word "cello" - the "c" has a "ch" sound, not an "s" sound. So it should be pronounced "chello" not "sello". Keep the great vids coming!

@@MattiasHolmgren Definitely a Tim Burton mood haha. Similar to you, Elfman is also a genius when it comes to those magical sounds

I loved the Swedish pumpkin! Nifty little trick with the harmonics on Zebra aswell!

Haha thanks Ragnar. I didn't have a pumpking so a Satsumas had to suffice. Lol. Thanks Zebra is really fun to work with. Quick results.

I really enjoyed this I am wanting to make a Halloween track soon!
Wonderful, glad my Halloween video was inspiring!
Very cool video! The little things are definetly the driving force of songs like this
Thanks, indeed its in the small ornamentations and shifting melody between instruments with various timbre. Love to compose these kind of quirky cues.
This is incredible! Super informative and educational but also just sounds amazing 😁🎃
Thanks Chipp. Happy Halloween. I had a blast making this video. Glad u enjoy the music and walkthrough. 👻🌞
Are you made spooky lead in zebra? Or zebra 2?
I only own Zebra 2.
