Was able to snag an Asus TUF card today online. Won't be here for a week or so but I'm excited to have it. Bought it at MSRP ($999.00). I am a video editor coming from a 2080 super setup. So hoping for a decent boost in performance. Great review!
Thank you very much for the review and comparison. Most people tend to forget that Gigabyte Aorus Master and Gigabyte Gaming OC have 4 year waranty and since I can get the Aorus for about 40$ more than the TUF Gaming OC I think that makes it a no brainer.
Until you try and claim that warranty. Then it doesn't matter if it's 400 years, when all Gigiabyte will do is send your card back and blame you Search online, don't just take my word for it.
@@williamtopping Do be fair, a lot of people abuse their cards and expect warranty do cover mistakes that are not due faulty design but user error (knocked off components, cracks etc).
Picked up the Aorus Master, UK wise I was sitting on the fence with a ASRock Taichi 7900XTX but was waiting for the reviews for the SUPERS to drop, with a discount i had available the Aorus 4080 SUPER Master was only £50 more expensive than the Taichi 7900XTX, no-brainer for me.
Great review. I was able to snag a ASUS TUF version of the 2080 super today. I am a video editor coming from a 2080 super, so im hoping for a significant performance boost. 😊
Hey guys i had a question I have never bought an FE card before i always buy EVGA and Asus cards. For the first time am considering an FE card is there any performance differences between AIB and FE? I currently have two cards coming the asus strix white edition 4080 super and the FE card bought directly from nvidia. I am only keeping one I don’t care about looks i like both cards i care about performance is the strix worth the extra $300? Thanks
I think the only reason to go Strix (especially white) is for looks.... And bragging rights. I don't like FEs, had a 3080 ti FE die on me just out of warranty and read they put bad thermals on those FEs. I like the looks of Aorus Master, so I got it when it was that or a ugly MSI or ugly Zotac card... I think ROG Strix is built better than the FEand probably most other cards.
The most impressive thing is the 4070ti super imop. Definitely a 10% jump and with that extra v ram it's definitely a good upgrade compared to the original 4070ti
I am getting a ASUS STRIX RTX 4080 non OC card cheaper than any 4080 super right now. Only option is a Gigabyte Gaming OC 4080 super at almost similar price. (i use gpus for AI and video editing, not for gaming) so reliability is a major concern. Should i buy ASUS strix 4080 non OC or Gigabyte 4080 super Gaming OC. please reply!
Does either of cards come with new 12v-2x6 connector? I saw article/youtube saying 40 super cards are coming with new 12v-2x6? If they are 12vhpwr is it safe to use corsair 12vhpwr cable?
Thank you for this video, I was wondering what one to go after and also what one would go in either a Lian Li Lancool 216 or NZXT H6 (as I'm deciding on my next case and just that side by side next to you helped). Also helped with me wondering about some other things as well. 👍👍 P.S. decided on the TUF
A couple of major factors which you didn’t touch on is build and materials quality, factors which the Tuf card absolutely slays the Gigabyte, and my saying that has nothing to do with brand loyalty. The Gigabyte cards feel like the bottom drawers of cheap refrigerators or k-cup coffee reservoirs, and are just about as durable.
One downside for Gigabyte (which is why i went with asus in the end) is their tendency to refuse rma's due to cracked pcb's which i do think is relevant information to have for people who has to make the choice between the two
@@KaVaKaZi Yes.. yes i do.. never had problems with asus rma (yes i do know about their both past and present issues) but im also european so theres a bunch more consumer rights in effect but havent heard of any 40 series Asus cards that were denied rma because of cracked pcb's.. and apart from all that my asus 3080 started developing issues where it would stop outputting video and maxing the fans at 65c.. rma'ed it and the shop was told to fully refund my card (which is why i upgraded to a 4080 super when getting a new one) so thanks :)
wow the H:ZD results. yeah there was a cpu bottleneck on that 4090 at 1440p ... that thing just took off at 4k and left every thing else in the dust. and double wow , the 7900xtx's RT performance is quite impressive for AMD's 2nd gen of RT hardware it beats a 4070 at rt and matches the 3090 at rt in other people's test.
Gigabyte Aorus for flashy. I paid $1149 on newegg. If I was able to get the $999 TUF I would have, but they sold out fast, and i like looks of Aorus Master, I have a Y60 vertical card case.
@@A2KMedia I'm guessing the TUF can pull closer with an overclock though the aorus will keep lower temps. I just bought the gaming OC and seems it's pretty good for overclocking with a 400W power limit.
not heard it during testing, but also its normally noticeable at lower utilisation and high framerate. most of the tests were focused on higher gpu usage
Don't get EITHER. You are paying hundreds of dollars for an RGB logo. *Gigabyte Gaming OC 4080S* can be had for HUNDREDS of dollars less than this and its the same damn clock speeds.
I grabbed the TUF 4080 SUPER today, it was $220 cheaper than the AORUS and it was the only one in stock nation wide in Canada, I think far more people trust in ASUS than Gigabyte
you are one of two who helped me decide which one to get. Went for the Asus Tuf 4080 super

with the latest gen, FE cards are in many cases as good as mid range or better. If you can, test them both and see for yourself :)

Asus tuf 4080 super vs Colorful 4080 super vulcan oc!? Which one is better?

Its a shame Gigabyte have such a bad reputation for customer support and warranty issues.
Really should be a strix card vs the master. Aero and tuf are in the same bracket.

do u think a good 750w power supply is enough for such a card?
