I agree! Though it was mainly the Apex instantly wreaking a whole row of installments when he arrived that made me go: Oh. Oh no. What have I gotten myself into!? Thankfully I wasn't alone in their debut rampage quest, which made fighting this beast even more epic!
I absolutely ADORE the intro, it just never stops! An immaculate way of portraying fear through music, since most songs (especially in monster hunter) will begin the track with big, punchy action notes before settling into the proper song. This could be thought as the musical equivalent of your hunter being shocked to see a monster, and calming themselves before going into battle. Roaming Red Roar's intro lasts a whopping 17 seconds, around double a lot of other intros (Glavenus and Brachydios' Iceborne themes come to mind), tricking you into thinking the "surprised" phase of the song will stop multiple times before finally settling. First experiencing this track in a Rampage blew me away, thank you Capcom!
I will forever belive the fact that some small parts of this track sound like valstrax's theme and could've been foreshadowing the return of the jet dragon seriously I can't un-hear it listen to the bit right at 1:11 it's identical
This is probably the first time many people have been terrified of an Arzuros.
Seeing it No-Sell that first gate definitely left an impact on me.

I love the way you describe the Intro! The fear of the hunter realizing this isn't like any ordinary monster of its type!
I wish this theme played in "Those Crowned Apex," but I don't think it would work outside of the rampage and infernal springs.
true
