You should do this every year-same challenge or you can read a book with 500 pages or more, a book with 500 reviews on GoodReads, if you have more than 500 books in your personal library, you can read the 500th book on your shelf...or visit a library or thriftstore and read the 500th book from the shelves. Everyone will have a different "line" I think but that would be a bit much for me to get past. I will still read it, but that's ... a lot. I just have to say - your husband is a sweet, adorable, funny goober. I bet he's a lot of fun :)
I honestly and truly think bonding with someone who was traumatized by the same horrible incident is WAY less of a weird than two really terrible friends/partners hooking up! People definitely end up with people who went through similar difficult things parallel to them, so I guess I feel like that is more realistic :)
The book using the sister's suicide as a connection is really weird... She could have written the same situation, but the sister ending up living and the guy helping her in the hospital because he felt guilty or something like that. Then the main character could see he being gentle to someone she loves and the book could even have a background plot with her sister getting mentally and physically better. Because like the trauma of being the driver that killed a girl is unimaginable, dating her sister is insane!
See I'm from MN so the whole setting had me hooked even before the romance and I have a toxic mother as well so this hit home. 5 stars for me easy ❤ glad you enjoyed

And it isn’t until the end when she meets family and decides to attach to them that you start to feel emotional connection to places she’s been to. It’s kinda symbolic.
