√(2x+1) = k
√(2√(k^3)) = 4
√(k^3) = 16/2 =8
k^3 =64 = 4^3
Then....

If powers of same indices will be the same. So y = 16

why not:
y*3=16*3. It gives y=16
since y= 2x+1 16=2x+1 2x = 15 and finally x= 15/2
