Its not excessively loud. Its a louder than stock, but its not annyoing. When you have your windows up you hardy notice it. even on the motorway going 70 its not annoying at all or really loud. It makes chooo sound when you build up boost and let of the gas. but its sounds good its not annoying to me anyways. I will be making drive by video soon.
i just got this for my a3, 2.0tdi and it’s so quiet, do you reckon it’s because i have a later model and therefore have a dpf which is muffling the sound?
Thats correct. In the video i had this exhaust on my 2005 a3 which has no dpf. I then fitted to my 2010 a3 same 2.0tdi engine but with engine code cbab. This model of car had the dpf and it wasn't loader with the exhaust. if you want the sound. Remove the dpf or get it gutted. Hope this helps.
I don't know as I dont work for them. But i know they do exhausts for the 1.9tdi as well. If the pipe layout is the same then I dont see why it wouldn't work.
I've just booked my 2011 a3 dsg for a stage 1 map and dpf removalsl aswell as egr, only got a powerflow backbox delete to put on tho will that make a difference after the dpf has been removed
@@wilks1998 i took it off my black a3 as am selling it. And have put it on my white a3 with common rail 2.0tdi engine with the dpf. And it sucks it sounds the same as the stock exhaust. So if you have dpf and cr engine then its pointless.
Dan The Audi Man i installed the same hornet exhaust on my audi a3 1.9 tdi 2007 model, muffler was removed and exhaust was installed only whistle no roar, im told that i will have to de cat straight pipe it and then it will make noise but engine light will come up
@@haderrasab5449 the reason for no roar is because its a 2007 model so most likely have a dpf. Yes if you remove the dpf a engine light will come on but you can easily get programed out. My car was 2005 140hp 2.0tdi bkd engine with no dpf as this year didn't get a dpf but it still had the cat i believe. I also tried this exhausted on my other a3 which was a 2009 2.0tdi 140hp cbab engine. Which had a dpf. And the exhausted didn't make a whistle sound or roar. It sound a bit louder than stock. I ended up selling the exhausted because of this. Hope this help
Dan The Audi Man mine doesnt have a dpf filter, dpf filters were introduced in 08 models and above, i only see the cat being the problem, so if the cat is removed i dont want the light coming on tbh
@@haderrasab5449 hmm strange why your not getting the roaring sound. Your engine is a bit smaller than the 2.0 it will have different exhaust gas pulse wave characteristics. My car still had the cat. But im pretty sure ive seen on the audi forms that some 07 cars got the dpf as well. Because they put them on the pd engines and it caused at alot of issues due to the engine not being designed to have a dpf jn the first place .

Depending if it’s custom or premade, My buddy just charged me for the material and did it himself, depending on what you do and size it’ll range from 150-600 bucks but personally if you are going to pay 600 just spend the extra 600 for a 1200 dollar exhaust made for the car since its engineered to flow perfectly and create good back pressure, If you are going custom I would run test casts (no cat material) with 1 or 2 mufflers at the Rear axle area to have that nice Muffler rumble If it’s too raspy add a small cat that’ll get rid of the pvc pipe sound (rasp) but you probably won’t need that if you run 2 mufflers
