Okay I meant to do this about an hour or two ago. But I made some minor tweaks to your strategy that your audience may find helpful. 1. I swapped out swiftcast for magic focus. The former only really helps with the first two rounds, and it doesn't actually help that much. In fact it actually hurts with the third round, because you need the scorpion to get closer to you before blizzard goes off. 2. I swapped out the attack and magic attack swap materia for the speed up materia. Magic focus makes up for what you were trying to do with this, and the extra attack power helps immensely in the last three rounds. I'm a little unsure as to how much ATB it actually adds, someone might want to test if it affects the spin attacks ATV or just the passive ATP you get from controlling the character. N if it's the latter enemy skill might be a better deal, if only for the stat boosts. 3. I did not use firaga or fortune-telling on the mind flayer. The reason for this is that I wanted to make sure the corsair's compass activated when I casted stop during the stagger. This allowed me to finish him off before the stagger was over. Something I noticed did not happen in the video. 4. For the last two rounds I used tactical mode buffering. You can hold block and press circle (to exit tactical mode) to make sure you get the timing right, it wasn't 100% effective against the left hand attacked by the mind flayer, and I had to learn which moves I could and couldn't block out of (the post-spin attack jump you cannot for instance), but it absolutely stabilized the strategy. Don't know if you want to do a follow-up video but it might be worth noting all of this.
I did it now, Try putting magicUP instead of atkmagik because with the swap you lose 20 in both attack and magic. With magc UP your value will be higher, try!
I'm not too sure how the stagger guage works. I used LL as crits do quite a bit more damage which during a long fight, the extra damage can add up to quite a lot. I don't think stagger is tied to how much damage you deal however Raising the stagger is a lot quicker when perfect blocking so learning enemy moves is a great way to do that. Round 4/5 I felt were quite easy to read after taking good notice on them
You unlock global outfit changing once you beat the game. Go to a chocobo farm or Costa del sol to change from then. Will apply wherever you are, even when outside of corel, unlike during the story where you'll go back to default
I have but had garm before then. Tryna think but maybe because I chose Barret in loveless between the 3 of them and Reds on his team I got it. I did also get a score of S. Probably best to Google his unlock conditions tho as I've got him automatically with how I've played the game
Good idea! But requires perfect execution which takes multiple attempts. Tried it your way, had to add chakra instead of strength. Thanks for another pointless guide that gets me nothing!
The point of them is to be challenging. If you can't read the enemy attacks to block them, which is essential, you will not get through it very quickly. But your so very welcome 😂👍
Try using tactical mode. It's a lot less effective on the mind flayer, but it might just be enough to make round four consistent so you can get better practice around 5:00. It may also make it so that you can at least block his right hand attacks. Left hand attacks are hard, but you might be able to get enough luck in order to beat it anyway. Don't give up just yet.

Does lady luck help to increase the stagger bar when hits are critical?

How did you get Red to look like Garm

@@nephlem_ no yeah I'm in Hard Mode. But I only have the option to change clothes for the first 5. Have you completed Red's Skywheel?

You should be able to to buy the costume from the Gold Saucer. It was about 1000 GP I think.
@@Sasuza oh your right! I forgot about that, but you can also get cait sith there too. Thank you for your help
