  • Restaurant Alchemist is one of the world’s most unique restaurants. Alchemy is an ancient practice, shrouded in mystery and secrecy. Its practitioners looked for a way to turn lead into gold. Rasmus Munk does quite the same at his restaurant Alchemist, but instead of turning lead into gold, the chef turns a meal into gastronomic theatre. The new Alchemist redefines the term “experience dining”. During a culinary ride with up to 50 culinary impressions in different areas, guests are guided on a journey through Rasmus Munk’s culinary dream. A form of gastronomic theatre that has not been seen before and which will impress even the most experienced gourmet lovers. A must, plain and simple.

      It's an experience indeed. But an extremely delicious one! If it's up to us, we would spend our money on Alchemist and not on the theme parks 😀.

    50 courses? That’s just excess of the worst kind. Don’t get me wrong, I love fine dining in all its forms and guises, but does the number of courses make your restaurant and menu better than another starred joint with just a 4 course prix fixe, or a “lowly” 7-9-course tasting? I don’t buy it.

    What ever happened to a nice, simple dinner? This is so overwhelming, the atmosphere is totally ridiculous, it seems that you are placed in a pseudo drug fuelled trip, and served creative yet rather bizarre and quite honestly, ego driven tapas sized portions that in the end will cost the diner a small fortune.

      Its for the big wigs and high rollers who don't do much with their lives other than make lots of money and eat. I'll take a PB&J any day

  • @crimsonfancy
    @crimsonfancy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Neat. Do they make money?
    Also, politics can often turn away guests. A restaurant experience is not a place for political ideology.

    • @CookinginRussia
      @CookinginRussia 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Considering it is 500 euros (about $550) per person to eat there and they are booked solid for months ahead, I'd say they are making money. As for politics, well they aren't endorsing any candidate or political party. They are reminding people of some of the horrors of corporatism and overpopulation. That's a good thing considering the CEO's and other influential people who tend to dine there.

    • @crimsonfancy
      @crimsonfancy 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CookinginRussia Endorsement of candidates or party isn't the only defining trait of politics...merely a minor part of such. On the other hand, making judgement on "corporatism or overpopulation" certainly is as political as it comes. Betting your guests would be one-sided and few.

    • @CookinginRussia
      @CookinginRussia 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@crimsonfancy - Again, the place costs 500 euros per seat and they are booked months in advance --- and has 2 Michelin stars, being the first restaurant in the history of Michelin to obtain 2 stars so quickly after opening. Your wish of doom has no merit, guy.

    • @crimsonfancy
      @crimsonfancy 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CookinginRussia I have no wish to doom. On the contrary, I wish to see every business succeed. My point is only to suggest that business and politics do not mix. Unless, of course, we speak of Michelin....where it is known worldwide that there are always exceptions to the rule.
      Edit: and the cost means nothing to me. Cost does not define quality and I'm sure you can make countless examples. I'm not using this house as a case of such ... only pointing it out as a reminder.

    • @CookinginRussia
      @CookinginRussia 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@crimsonfancy - The fact that the cost is that much proves that people are not coming for the low prices and "enduring" what you regard as politics, even though environmental awareness is NOT political because we are all part of the same planet, regardless of nationality, sexual orientation, gender or political alignment.
