      Graeme may not be a vet but, that claw was all but completely cut off!!! A little more each touch up, as new hoof grows in behind it and the distinction between live and dead are more and more obvious and removable.

      Each hoof has two claws. It's the vocabulary of the anatomy. While sometimes the two claws are loosely referred to as hooves, the whole "foot" is correctly a hoof and each "toe" is a claw.
      A cow has 4 hooves each with 2 claws. Eagles and hawks don't have claws, they have talons! Dogs and cats do have claws too, obviously different than a cow but, that's the English language.

    • @Lorna929
      @Lorna929 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      @@Mike-oz4cv it all depends on the type of cow (beef or dairy) and the type of farmer, some will prioritise money over welfare, but most prioritise the health. quite often vet visits are not as expensive as you think for farms, certainly not as expensive as small animal vet care. I think it's pretty safe to assume things did not turn out well for this cow. There's no other reason they wouldn't provide an update in over a year. If there was a happy ending, we'd see a part 4. The first 3 parts only happened within a couple months of each other. But it's now been over a year. So I'm quite certain the update is not a happy one, which is why they haven't uploaded it.

    Let's give the cow some credit for getting better! Her immune system is going strong! Of course Graham, Kevin and the gang are helping!

    Honestly that first check gave me the heebie-jeebies. It's so creepy to see growth like that. Kind of glad that the work you've done to get this hoof back to normal is working. Good luck, 137.
