- Enjoy lots of sparring action. Be sure to watch the intensity that I normally work at and try and replicate it. It will help you avoid damage.

1 hour of sparring footage? Don't take this the wrong way, but I think I love you😜

@@-tzadakim-7805 why are u gae
😂😂
dw bro i love him too🗿🤝❤️
We all do
Started Muay Thai about 7 months ago, and I have tried to model everything after you. I’m a short, athletic guy and I’m utilizing your Tight defense, and fakes to work my way in range and then pressuring with level changes and relentless cardio. Just now getting to the part where I’m coming out of my defensive shell and landing good shots (without getting caught as much). Thanks to you, I am becoming a better fighter. My goal is to compete before the end of the year, so I will use all of this time wisely, and drop a like on every one of your videos 😎
And come back in the comments to let us know how your first fight went man. Good training.
hi man, I also have a questino if u dont mind answering. How old are you rn? Wish you the best

How did it go?
I’m 17 been watching this guy for awhile now.Started kickboxing 5 years ago and I’ve also been modeling my fighting style using the Dutch guard a lot
1 hour of sparring footage? Are you kidding me? Thank you so much!
This is GOLD! I'm tellin ya! I've learned SOOOO Much just from watching this!
Dude you rock, you made me realize how much i suck, the whole zeroing in on defense is a game changer
The Muay Thai guy with the shaved head and orange Yokkao shorts is sharp!
Looking great man, beautiful and technical sparring
Awesome video! Do you think a collab with fellow Canadian Jeff Chan/MMAshredded is in the cards for this year?
So glad you shared this. I move around in a similar way as you but it's not nearly as refined. I'm able to see my style more or less, but how it should ideally be executed. There are tons of subtleties I can implement into habit to tighten myself up from this, I really appreciate it!!
Gabriel’s boxing is so smooth, his right cross is so crisp. Such a pleasure to learn from, thank you.
the technique is so CLEAN
Amazing!
If your sparring was a Netflix series I would watch all episodes! I love to rewind and play it on 0,25x speed to learn from it.
Talking through the sparring explaining the why behind the move is even better, but without is superb as well!
One of the best videos of fighting sports on youtube! I enjoyed every second of it! Thank you!
I just got done with some soft sparring in Thai boxing ( I’ve only had just a handful of classes ) and I gotta say it’s waaaay more complex than I thought and it humbled me more than I already was. but it is so much fun learning from fighters that are advanced. I will be watching your vids and the sparring vids to see how well I progress. Thanks dude!
I'm happy with this late Christmas gift. Thank you Gabriel!
There are no perfect words to express my gratitude. I just love you.
This…is….like the greatest thing ever!!! An hour of really great sparring footage.
Wow this is awesome. Showing folks what real sparring looks like, not death matches that take years off your life in the gym like I've seen.
Just got done sparring tonight. It’s a nightly thing. I’m really living it 🫠 competing too. It’s helpful to see you guys and compare what I’m up to with my little gym and team compared to the pros. And you know what, it’s pretty similar!
That's the best way to improve imo just be careful with ego sparring, straight cte highway
@@ck-rb9wn for sure I agree
The treats never stop. "Pure Gold", Thank you.
Would not want to bump into Gabriel Varga in an alleyway at night
I mean, he seems like a nice enough guy. I feel like you would have had to have done something pretty bad for Gabriel Varga to be upset enough to be dangerous in a dark alley.
I agree with the other comment as Gabriel has either diffused any issue or walked away from trouble. When he was a young guy he was told things such as "nothing good happens after 11pm downtown", or one of my favourite expressions "You know - I never got in a fight on a Saturday afternoon walking to the library" or one of the many things he was told.
When you know things would turn out ok for you there is really no need to engage when you do not have a big 'ol fight ego, a tough guy attitude or are just an angry person.
Patrick Swayze did a fun movie called "Road House". I cannot remember the exact line but it was pretty much that "those who are prepared for trouble are usually better than those looking for trouble".
Oh - I am pretty sure I would have also explained to Gabriel to just stay out of dark alleys as it just makes good sense.

thank you champ! (from France) there are a lot of things to learn in this video.
Wow I finally found footage of you sparring much more helpful than watching you in your den. Hope to see you more in action..Thanks
We would love to see sparring footage breakdowns as well!
Gabriel, are you trying to give your karate combat competition some footage so they can try and work out how to beat you?! :P
Your transparency and generosity knows no bounds!
Wow! Thx champ!
Thanks Gabe!
Great sparring!!!!💯🙏
Thank you for this
I’m literally finding this before Christmas, I’ll maybe watch it on the Boxing Day XD
I like the sparring footage of you and the guy with orange yokkao shorts. That guy has a very strong style. Kinda want to see you guys fight for real lol
Vraiment bien. Merci
I will do my best to replicate you, Varga sensei. The kid at the end was crazy lol
Ok, this is awesome.
Pretty good work. Maybe you become world champion kickboxer one day
I’ll watch this later
Hey 👋 that was really good 👍 fight
I'm going to watch this while listening to Rise Of The Valkries on repeat.
@gabriel varga, how do you get in such good conditioning? please link the vid if it already exists. Also would the way you train be sustainable for a 240lb athlete like seth. Thanks

This video might help. Mike aka hard2hurt posted a video where Gabriela talks a bit about conditioning.
Do lots of sprints.
Here is the routine:

thats some psychotic bulldog action on the big boy looool... PRESSURE, PRESSURE, PRESSURE... DUTCH
Very nice 👍 how often do you spar boxers, just boxing rounds?
When I see a question I believe is important to fighters I answer and tend to be a bit chatty and long winded. I think boxing training is very important for fighters. I used to own a boxing club before Gabriel was born and would always seek out good boxers and they would pretty much "tune me up" on a regular basis as boxing was not a great skill that we martial arts people had back in the 60's and 70's.
Things were not as they are now where ego is out the door in the way of "styles" being the best and all the best things have now risen to the top of being done. In modern society this was all started by - yes - you got it - Bruce Lee. He was on point when he combined styles and lost the ego involved and started selecting the best things to do. Things have continued to evolve that way and people continue to improve.
Gabriel spars with boxers fairly regularly. One of our friends used to own a boxing club and 12 -14 years or so ago when Gabriel started sparring with good boxers it was a challenge for him and he got a bit of a schooling laid on him. Gabriel had lots of tweaks to make as boxing is of course a different game then kickboxing in the way of stance and head movement etc.
Within that year or so Gabriel was able to do well and then in the next couple years he was as good as the Olympic Boxers and then pro's he got the opportunity to train with.
I am thinking it was around 10 -11 years ago he received an invite and went to the gym where Freddy Roach and Manny Pacquio trained at in L.A. He did not get to work with Manny but did really well sparring against Manny's sparring partners.
They were talking about some pro boxing fights for Gabriel but Gabriel decided his love was kickboxing so stayed focused on that.
All the boxers really helped Gabriel improve his game as they are so good at what they do.
Learning how to function in the ring with a skilled pure boxer is an important thing to do to improve for sure.

@@kvarga9164 thank you for that explanation it take talent to balance boxing and kickboxing technique at a high level like Gabriel does and not get to focused on one
@@kvarga9164 if you’re really his dad and im not just gullible, this is some priceless advice and insight. thanks!
Can someone give me a quick tutorial on how to properly analyze sparring footage? I feel like this video is gold, but I don't really know how to learn from it
You should try using a sickle kick in sparring
I know very little about kickboxing but Gabriel seems to have really good hands. I’m surprised he hadn’t transitioned over to pro boxing?
Alternative title: 1 hour sparring asmr
He walks the walk and talks the talk.
2:13 is slick af
legend, aint this a lot of footage for your opponents gabriel? hehe
More footage out there of his real fights tbh
he’s already at the top. anyone at that level has lots of footage of them
He had a good response to that:
Basically, his opponents are going to know everything they need to know about him from his fight footage that's already out there, and he's not going to be showing any videos that will reveal any secrets or anything, and if they're going to watch his sparring videos to try and get an advantage, good luck.
whats the use of having two different shin guards on?
He said he had lost one or something in a previous video. So it has no special reason.
😊
Varga vs Tate lets go!
3:39 💯❤️🙏
Timing was good asf
I have noticed Gabriel wears an odd pair of shin guards is there any particular reason for this? Anyone else do this?
Probably just didn’t have a matching pair
Song Title 4:30?
🤌🏻
Why do you give your ops so much film on you?
Good question.
At this point there is so much film footage of Gabriel's fights he figured it does not really make much difference. How Gabriel trains is not really how he always fights but I think there would be at least 20 of his pro fights with Glory, Bellator, Hero Legends and now Karate combat and some others out on the internet.
Gabriel has been teaching since he was a very young guy. Gabriel taught with me 4 -6 times a week starting around 25 years ago and Gabriel has always enjoyed it and thought it an important part of being a martial artist.
Gabriel does truly feel fortunate in the life that the martial arts has allowed him to have and he has continued teaching 5 kids classes a week even now.
The TH-cam channel allows him to help many other people he would never of had the opportunity to help out.
When Gabriel was transitioning from other forms of martial arts to kickboxing and then started competing there was nothing like Gabriel does on TH-cam. Gabriel would watch and rewatch all of his favourite K 1 fighters - and that was an incredible time with an amazing group of the best fighters ever. Gabriel learned from watching - a nugget here an incredible technique there - Gabriel just wanted to put it all together to help other people with todays internet technology.
Some of Gabriel's attitudes of course come from home and he has heard me tell students for decades "I have created nothing - I am just showing you something that I was taught by someone else". Gabriel does the same.
