Hi everyone, this week I have a bit of a different video for you. Many of you have asked what to buy in Switzerland and what are some typical souvenirs to bring. So here’s a very subjective selection of items I’ve come across while traveling in Switzerland 🇨🇭. Have a great week!
I was born in Bern in 1966 but lived in Büren until we moved to the states 8 years later, and I believe I have Nutella running through my veins. My favorite Swiss chocolate is Hazelnut Ragusa, they are so smooth and creamy. Since we had moved to the states I have not seen any of my Swiss relatives in 40+ years, but 7-8 years ago my uncle and his family contacted us because they were coming to the USA for a month long family trip, with a stop to Washington state where I currently live. When they came to our house they had a gift for us which was full of Swiss chocolate including my favorite Ragusa. I told my family you can have all of the other chocolate but thanks off my Ragusa. I’ve since ordered them off of Amazon. When I got married I bought all of my groomsman Swiss Army knifes for their gifts
Thank you Tannistha, I’m glad you enjoyed this video and found it useful. Also check out my other videos on Switzerland and let me know what you think 👍🌺
As souvenirs from Switzerland, I would buy a cool Freitag bag (Swiss company, Swiss innovation), a typical Swiss railway clock (the one with the red hand - in any size you prefer), a pair of On shoes (Swiss engineered and produced), a gorgeous Mammut outdoor softshell (Swiss company and Swiss made), a Barryvox avalanche search and rescue device and a pair of Stöckli skis.
Nice episode, Janus👍🏻😊 You’ve organised its content really well. Lindt! My favourite chocolate though I must be frugal about it here. And love those cute figurines too🐮☺️. A friend ever bought for me a Victorinox nail clipper which I found super cool coz it can be folded flat. Thank you so much for all your hardwork putting together videos of Switzerland. We truly appreciate them😊☺️🌻
Really like this one Janus! As you have mentioned it is different but entertaining to a guy who likes souvenirs as gifts and personal memory tokens. I think I'll wear my Switzerland beenie cap today that I purchased at the lookout above Interlaken. Cheers my friend.
Again, thank you for video. I did buy some Swiss Knifes as gift and for myself. However, as a chocolate lover I did not buy Lindt chocolate because I can buy them in US. Did not know they have good hot chocolate but will buy next time in Switzerland. Maybe Amazon has the hot chocolate the hot chocolate that you have mentioned😋
Mostly I buy fridge magnet when I travel. But I can't get enough of the yummy swiss chocolate too:) Thank you for sharing. Now I have more options what kind of swiss souvenirs I could buy:)
All your videos are amaaaaaaaaazing .. thank u very much for sharing.. you are the best 👌 lovely regards from Saudi Arabia ( we love u brother .. come back to us after the pandemic ).
Very informative video, Sir. Can you tell me in which place in Switzerland you will get the items mentioned in the video at reasonable rates? Any information on places to be visited?
Hi thanks for the lovely video. Can i know which part of switzerland is the vitronix knife and the watches shop. Is it is zurich or geneva. As i m amking my trip early oct.
@@januslog Thank you very much, it's a pity because we are so far away, we could get together for coffee and talk for a long time about Switzerland and the Middle East, about the topic of catarrh and you and me are interested !!
@@travel-putovanjatadejsluga9990 no, this was recorded during my trip there last year. I was however in Slovenia this summer and will share my videos from that trip in the coming months. I’m back home in the US now
Where are the cheapest places in Zurich to buy souvenirs like magnets or keychains or any other small souvenirs? Are there any souvenirs for 1 Swiss Franc like keychains? Are postcards cheap there? We will be going around the Grossmunster area. Thanks for your assistance.
Hi, you will unfortunately likely not find anything for 1 SFR in Switzerland. The best places tend to be discount stores like Aldi or Lidl. I’d buy the chocolate there and sometimes they have deals on souvenirs. But it depends on what you’re looking for.
@@figureskating2724 It probably depends on where you buy them and there may be differences in quality but you will have to count between 2-3 CHF per card.
@@januslog Wow, things are expensive in Switzerland. We got about 3 for a 1 euro in Italy. We were able to get items for 1 euro or around $1 US Dollar in Rome and Pisa and Vatican City. We actually got magnets and keychains and little statues for 1 euro. It sounds more expensive in Switzerland even for postcards. Thanks for your help.
When you buy souvenires from Switzerland, you have to be careful, some souvenirs has a tag design made in Switzerland not made in Switzerland. Design made in Switzerland comes mostly from ,China, Vietnam or another countries. The Shoe company On produce in Vietnam, its only one exemple I saw also travel bags from Wenger, on the Bag i saw tag with Design made in Switzerland, and much smaller i can read made in China. But by Swiss Army, Knife, Chocolate, Watches and some Handcraft stuff you are sure its made in Switzerland.

Very informative video, Sir. Can you tell me in which place in Switzerland you will get the items mentioned in the video at reasonable rates? Any information on places to be visited?

You find them in most cities and more touristic places. Reasonable prices are unfortunately very difficult to come by in Switzerland.
Thank you x

For milk chocolate with nuts, Migros M-Budget is Best!

Thank you for watching Sam Sam 💐🇨🇭
my favorite souvenir is a CAP with a national flag of Switzerland or any emblem
Those are indeed great 👍
Switz chocolate is the best. A friend brought some over from Switzerland and its 100 times better than aussie chocolate.
I agree, the Swiss chocolate is amazing 😋👍
Is there second-hand watches ??
I’m very sure there are but I didn’t visit them when I was there.
I want to live there. I eat Chocolat every days 🍫🍫😂😂😋😋
That’s the one thing that’s very cheap there 😅
I had lots of chocolate when I was in Switzerland
Where is a good place to get a authentic Swiss flag?
I’m not a flag quality expert but you can pretty much buy them anywhere. Many curio shops will have them
The Toblerone that are sold in the US are not good.
"Montblanc" isn't a Swiss brand ...
Mont Blanc are German made not Swiss
Thanks for the clarification! I indeed thought they were a Swiss company
