The writer only had like 3 months to come up with this script, but have you seen "The Stoned Age"? It's by the same writer/director James Melkonian. It's about a couple young guys just trying to party and have a good time in the 80s. It's the reason Melkonian was offered the job to make The Jerky Boys the very next year.

I would be repeating things and he'd tell me to not be so loud about it, lol!! We'd drive around and listen to the tapes, along with my mother, no lie. Laughing so hard. Peter died by suicide two years ago and I've been listening to The Jerky Boys lately to help me deal with grief. RIP Peter. I hope your making people laugh up in heaven with your awesome sense of humor. I love you and miss you so much.

They approached this movie the same way the first Cheech and Chong film was plotted, trying to create a story based on a string of their comedy album skits (pranks). I love all their phone calls but as you can hear from this clip the cursing went too far. The two broke up after the film, and Johnny Brennan went on to apply Frank Rizzo and Sol Rosenburg to family guy character voices.
