i fucking love your acoustic playing, awesome way of playing these songs that i love... im getting back into my acoustic and thats down to you...ta mate, nice1.
WOW, just wow. this is the first song that really punched me in the stomach by SY way back when i was a teenager. your grasp of their catalog is unreal.
Thanks a lot my friend - appreciate it! Yes, it can be played in standard - I learned it back in the days in standard and it provides a good feeling of how the song should be played. I think the verse goes like: Db/E/B/D or something close to that. You can do some playalong. Afterwards you should try it out in this tuning to get all of the 'hidden' or somehow 'original' notes along. Good luck! :)
Thanks a lot my friend - appreciate the warm words. The whole demo-cd 'Blow Job' just prior to Goo is still blowing my mind straight off. Songs like 'Disappearer', 'Tunic', 'Dirty Boots', and 'Cinderella's Big Score' are so amazingly raw on that record. Thanks again!
@Droolhawk - Thanks a lot for those warm words - appreciated! Just trying to give some back now that I've got this much from SY. Keep listening, more to come. Thank you :)
Thanks a lot my friend - appreciated. I usually tune my B down just to be sure it's not gonna burst but it really need to go up - which only can happen if I lower the tuning several steps. But you can manage with a loose B.
Thank you sir, appreciate the words! :) I might do a tutorial in time but right now I got so much going on that I can't find the time, sorry. But one day in the nearest future! :)
Thurston & Lee use electric instruments, and this facilitates distortions. So I think your really good version, highlighting the fact that it is not electric instrument, it was really good! This song is a classic of SY, congratulations!
Thanks a lot my friend, much appreciated! The guitar is around 20 years old now but when I really began taking up the SY catalogue, it showed some excellent new sides of itself - damn I love that guitar :) The SY range of styles is incredible - nothing is 'just' as it seems - at least I have discovered somehow by doing these covers even though I might not even do them right. Thanks again.
Thank you my friend, appreciate the words :) I'm sure you play this as good or even much better - it's not that difficult or anything. Just some practice and lots of coffee :) Tell me if i can help you in any way :)
@artdecade1984 - I thank you again. Very appreciated indeed. I think I just try to combine the best, or the things I pay absolute attension, from Lee and Thurston and then try to make it into one complete outcome. But thanks a lot!
@68redneck67 - ah, nailed and nailed - it's pretty hard trying to combine two guitars into one but that's the limitations and I seem to enjoy it :) But thanks a lot. It worked out alright I think. I still have guitars yeah but they're so much out of shape these days haha. Some day I'll buy a Jazzmaster and do it all over again... and again..and again :)
Thanks buddy, appreciate it :) I could do the cover with electric yes, but I did that back in the days. I feel that it's a bigger challenge to make it sound right on acoustic, if you know what I mean?
Thanks a lot my friend - appreciated! A favorite here as well. It's not hard to play. Just some timing and maybe some improvisation and practice :) Thanks!
Another classic you just nailed there, man! Liked it alot. Ps: do you still have the electric guitars i saw in your Brother James and Theresa's sound world?
Thanks a lot - appreciated! It was actually a very large workshop room - about 140 squaremetres I think it was. Good for natural acoustic sound indeed. But thanks a lot!
@inamicul21 - Thanks! Will do! And "#¤!, do I know the feeling - so many strings broken so far. SY comes with a price :) Keep it up yourself my friend!
Uhm, I just tried to follow the right tunings (those that were as right as could be) together with a lot of listening. Then eventually I wanted to combine the guitars into one whole of what I was 'hearing' or paying the most attention to in a specific song. So you could say that to me it's not that important if it's a completely actual playalong. More a method on how I try to make it sound 'right' to me.
I just can’t believe how good and accurate this is. You are the biggest Sonic Youth fan I’ve ever seen.
i fucking love your acoustic playing, awesome way of playing these songs that i love...

Thanks a lot! I would love to do a tutorial for this tuning but I'm not sure when it will be :(
