I saw on a previously video that you mudded a "tapered" butt joint without tape. Why wasn't your first coat with tape? Seems like an unnecessary buildup of mud that negates the benefit of the "tapered" butt joint. What am I missing? Also your audio is difficult to hear at times. Especially the audio from the workers where most of the info is coming from. Not everyone has perfect hearing. Most other TH-camrs have much better audio I believe because of having small microphones.Thank you for the videos.
@@endoalley680 That would make sense if they were just pre-filling the crack. I thought this job had butt joints with no studs behind them. Instead they had that tapered backer board that pulled the butt joint to it creating a tapered joint similar to a factory tapered edge. That is what I thought they were filling and not just the crack.

flat box runner started a tad too soon here. only giving 90 minute mud maybe 5-10 minutes to set isnt smart. otherwise nice work
No, this is still the first coat, we aren't considering this as the second, just fill the recesses quickly after taping.
