A little tip that I've learned at University, when you fold up the mat try to make it with the grass in the outside, it makes it last longer, can seem contradictory, but it works with pictures over canvas because the fabric is more flexible than the material that emulate grass and dirt (in that case).
No probs. I've used that for a few months now and still works wonders. Small based minis sometimes tip over but for movement tray games this is the best.

It could be the same. I've seen mats similar to this in several places. Also Lidl sold something like this a while ago
