For me, this song isn't sad, it's depressing. The singer(s) isn't grieving for someone's death, he's just accepting it. He's shocked and confused, but glad the person's dead, because he's truly free. It's a fresh take on the concept of death and i like it. It stuck with me since the first time i heard it.
