Those water out of the pipes at the campgrounds..you don’t have to filter them? Or should you? We were just in Cades cove. Saw 8 bear! Id like to get into day hiking. What are the essentials? I’m thinking Osprey daylite with the water bladder. Just don’t know what else I need. Maybe 8 mile hike is the longest trail we have by me in Illinois.

Nice fall colors! I love those fig bars! I take them on every hike or kayak trip and drink my coffee with. I do take a small thermos on my day hikes.
